For what it’s worth she can’t actually do the insta aoe if you’re directly next to her. So as long as you avoid staying in that mid range you’re safe. It effectively just makes you have to only take punishes when you’re sure you’re point blank and when you can’t punish you have to make sure to keep some distance.

So I'm guessing the reason the Stalker doesn't appear early on is cause you're outrunning the AI's search area, so it has to move to next area to catch up, but you keep outrunning. I've dones this thing when transitioning between levels (area of the bunker when the game's fps drops to render new area.

Man all those doors and keys, this game looks so confusing, I bet figuring out what to do on a first playthrough was a total nightmare

I do max difficulty custom runs all the time, it's very fun, this game never gets boring, despite it having the same ending every time. No dis credit to you, but shell shock ends up feeling like a cake walk after doing the hardest custom runs, purely because of how little items spawn in the mode. It's like 2 different worlds. Here's a tip that is run changing: After you get the valve to stop the lockdown, immediately go to prison, find the brick in 1 of 3 spawns, in the interrogation room, next to the processing room, at the entrance to the prison hallway, or at the end of the prison hallway. Get the brick, break open the door leading to the room with the grate, take a left, and use the rest of the brick to break open the wooden door with the chain on it. That bypasses the need for the cutters, and there's a guaranteed medkit, and either a 50% chance of a grenade and 2 bullets spawning, or a pocket bag spawning. The grenade is preferred as it can clear out 1 section of rats leading to maintenance, which is the most important area for a difficult run.

Literally everything you did was perfect besides finishing the beast. The best approach imo is tossing the grenade while he hugs the teddy bear.

That was something much like ballet. Juggling a dozen guns and tools and mods and only stopping for the few seconds necessary to do something like punch a mech to death.
