How to Zero The SureFire XVL2
This video discusses how to zero the XVL2. The best method to zero the XVL2 laser is to adjust the windage and elevation with small iterative alternating steps. The following procedure describes this process:
1. Back both the windage and elevation screws out (counter-clockwise) so that the laser points to the right and above the weapon sights. The upright position is when the weapon light is mounted below the barrel.
2. Alternate adjustment of the windage and elevation screw until the dot is on zero. Start by adjusting the windage roughly 3 or 4 clicks.
3. Then adjust the elevation 3 or 4 clicks, stairstep downwards until the laser is roughly in line with your sights OR Point Of Impact.
4. As you get closer to zero position, it is recommended to reduce the amount of adjustment to finely establish a precise zero.
5. To test the zero position is locked in, Adjust the windage 5 clicks up then returning to nominal position (5 clicks back down) and then adjusted 5 clicks down from nominal and then returned to the nominal to insure that the elevation adjustment was not caught in a pinch situation (pinch situation usually occurs if the laser is not iteratively sighted in and usually affects the motion of the elevation when the adjustment knob is loosened).
6. Check to see if the laser and weapon sights are still coaligned, if not perform steps 4 and 5 again.
7. If at any time the laser ceases to move when adjustments are applied, or knobs are stuck, restart at step 1. Never force the adjustment screw.
8. If the above adjustments are performed properly the unit is ready for operation.
Warning: users can use a coin or screwdriver to manipulate the adjustment screws. Never force the adjustment screw. If it does not seem like laser dot is moving when the screw is adjusted, start the procedure from step 1.

Can anybody show me what position for a lefty?!
I need a Surefire FH556-216A for my L119A1 clone 😪
def my favourite muzzle device
Can it reach 16” on a 13.9? If pin n welded
I just threw a tlr-7 sub in the trash. Lasted 1.5 months, ran maybe 1,500 rounds on it, and the poorly designed fastening system screw sheared into 2 pieces. and blew apart at the range. I should have realized when I was mounting it, that tiny diameter screw would be the demise of mine. I have 1 of these coming to replace it. And if their was supposed to be a torque value on the screw, I have a wheeler torque wrench, and did not see any specs anywhere in the instructions.
Are these good for shooting range ?
Indoor shooting ranges you should be doubling up with plugs and muffs but for outdoor ranges these work great
Can I use a crescent wrench
Careful. Just received an order. They are sending out C123A's with only 9 years 4 months left on them. Not even close!
Is the war music really necessary? Pete's sakes, it's an instructional video...
Ok how do the Chinese clone that in exactly every single detail and mounting kit molded with sf branding? It makes no sense unless it is a patent that expired or??? And don't say anything inside is different I checked the board numbers it is an exact match in every single detail explanation please?
Are you trolling? Do you think the Chinese abide by US IP law?
question: dont the gas ports between the barrel and the prongs on the warcomp defeat the flash hiding of the device? whats this look like firing at night? both from the shooter's and other perspectives? I have a surefire 3 prong flash hider, no ports
Because of this video I’m subscribing now😂😂😂
will it bring a 13.9 Criterion Barrel to a legal 16" when pinned and welded?
Can you buy a Turbo head and for the Ultra body?
How do you clean the back section? It has a metal shroud that is split lengthways.
probably a dumb question but would this fit an airsoft pump? i’m trying to recreate the wilson combat cqb-870 and this is the last piece i need
Would if you don’t use the rockset and torque to 32 foot pounds ?
@1:10 Where can i pick up one of these beveled spacers for a 5.56 barrel? Please and thank you
Barry thanks for the information, I’m new to adding surefire cans. Although I have a .556 4 prong I will be using on my 14.5 and a .556 ctn non warcomp on my 12.5. The 4 prong is built like a tank and the ctn looks so thin and flimsy I’m thinking of returning it. Multiple dings and flaws on it as well even though it is brand new. What happened to your quality control? Also is there anything you can do for me to replace the ctn it was never installed? I was told if I send it it I would have to wait 90 days and unfortunately I may not have 90 days due to stage 4 cancer. I told the customer service woman this and she was very rude and stuck to her rules.
I refuse to pay >$300 for a weapon light, that doesn’t come with a tape switch. I realize that Surefire’s light throw is spectacular, but, realistically, if you engage a home intruder at those distances, you’re going to jail. That, and your ordinary buyers, aren’t hunting the Taliban, at 500 yards.
Blinding an intruder at 10 yards with 100k candela is a possibility
Shims provided we’re not enough for my PSA😂
Officer Kenneth would be proud
Taking a shot every time he says “And”
Love it, but i have wishes: strobe and qd
Does the cone face forward or backward (crush washer)?
Manufacturers always do the worst install/how to videos. They're always super fast with little detail.
You know what would be super sweet for the xvl2-irc is if y’all came out with a separate IR only illumination head that allowed you to adjust the throw of the beam. The power output of the xvl2-irc IR illuminator is great, but if I could adjust the beam of it it would honestly be better than 99% of laser aiming devices on the market. I’m aware that it was designed for handguns, but it’s proven to be better than my DBAL-a3 even with the fixed flood illuminator. Just the option to change out the head and ditch the white light would make this laser amazing.
Didnt mention the 4 prong
Just picked a new one on eBay for $62 shipped. Fantastic light for the money ..
Great tool, but ridiculously overpriced.
Can I use Flat top batteries in the EDC2-DFT?
the only reason I wont buy this is because its not USB-C
Low lumens, micro USB charging, CR123's in 2023, so far behind
If you’re actually going into harm’s way, primary lithium cells are still the superior battery chemistry. Expensive, yes. But if you’re at the tip of the spear there are no compromises.
Can you design the light not as long? Lol. It always sticks out like an inch and a half on any gun I have.
That's a good thing. You want that.
I wish those handheld lights had a tactical strobe. Also, I guess I really can’t blink it fast on high because if I clicked on and off, it’s just gonna go between high and low. Disappointed about that.
4 prong non warcomp is the best. Thats why the military uses them. Heavy duty about twice the weight and strength drop the closed tine hard on the ground and see what happens most likely will bend.
I have a Surefire mini scout light pro. I want to change out the the M-LOK mount for the supplied rail mount but I cannot for the life of me get the M-LOK mount off to do that. I've unscrewed the hinge screw all the way and it still does not pull out. I have a tech support request into Surefire but they have not responded (yet). I thought you might be able to help me. Any advice?
Excellent description of a simple process that I was a bit confused about. I’ll work my way into the 21st century one of these days.
how to know or read the date?
Ok I’m new to this. Why are all the holes not lined up on top? Why are the holes on the right of the rifle?
Still trying to find a wrench thin enough to install this thing 😂
Im trying to find that same wrench to remove it
Trying to decide which light to buy and you guys have so many patterns and models. This was very helpful and I really appreciate the info!
Love it but word to anyone wanting to put this on a SBR/PPC/PDW, it does NOT adjust at 12 o'clock. It MUST be mounted, 3, 6 or 9 only. If mounted at 12 you will run out both adjustments. Just a little foot note. We run all ours on a 45 degree 3 o'clock using the pressure switch on our PDW's its a fantastic little unit.
Не очень понятно.
surefire way of burning someones retinas. :)
Im already done
We’re gonna need a “gas pedal” type tail cap switch (like what is currently offered on your standard EDC handheld offerings). That interface on a handheld is vastly superior for just about every situation. Whether it’s a shoot house, on the trails, or at work. I own tons of these things, going back to the “Laser Products” days 😉
Agreed. The whole idea behind the high-candela/turbo trend is tactical application. A handheld with a low/high toggle is not appropriate for tactical use, and a handheld with high-candela is not ideal for utility use. So the turbo handheld either needs to be single-output, or gas-pedal so that it commit to being a tactical light. I'm all in for a gas-pedal Turbo.
I bought this for my Springfield Prodigy last week. I got it today, with that being said this is my first light from Surefire and it is amazing I love the light but the only complaint that I have right now is that the switch is very stiff the pushing of the button is no problem but by God that flip up or down is beyond stiff.
Will the 3 prong wrench work with the older 3 prong flash hiders that were used on the early M-16s and XM-16 E1s?
