1 in four pigs raised in the US is owned by China. Our water, our grain etc feeds there pigs, there meat is processed here and we process the pig leftover parts for commercial food. Which....some is sent to China. So our resources are being dedicated to feed there people. This and foreign countries buying our land and water. Americans are voting with there wallets but most of what we own china's ljkel6 got a part in.
Im about to get one for a good price im having second thoughts lol i jus need to try it if i dint like it i can easily sell the smf almost overnight
The two tone liners are different materials as someone commented before, only the locking side is titanium
Damn, your right lol i spine whacked mine and about the third moderate pressure whack she closed up on me.
People often don't take into account the fact that shock loading is a completely different nature than constant pressure. Locks need to be checked by pressing on the spine, this would make the tests more correct. In addition, knife manufacturers often SPECIFICALLY provide for the possibility of disengaging the lock under SHOCK loads. This is done to avoid permanent damage to the lock. Knife owners usually are not even aware of this option. Shock loads on the spine do not occur during normal use of the knife. If the blow was so strong that the knife folded, this means that the blow was delivered INTENTIONALLY. And don't even mention the batoning. A batoning and a folding knife are incompatible things. I will say more, a batoning, in principle, is not the TARGET use of a knife.
Autos are stronger
Awesome video! Have two of the XL and have both for about 10 years now. Changed the ball cage lock to Flytanium cage lock. They are great all around knives including self defense like another person mentioned. Thanks for sharing!
Since this, they revised the knife lock, and lock interface. I've tested mine, bashed it hard on the spine, no failure. Its a shame Microtech didn't inform their customers about the revision. They should have owned up to it. I bet if you sent it into warranty they would have changed the lock, you hope they would anyway. 2024 modles dont have lock failure issues.
Uneven grindlines on a $500 "hyperknife" is pretty terrible.
Got mine for what ita worth 380 love it everything a bugout should be although yes absolutely the crks are far superior un every way except manipulation
This is a *terrific* review. I really love the look of the Archer, but that's an expensive knife purchase for me, so I've been on the fence since it came out. So, I *really* appreciate you taking a very critical, but fair and thoughtful, approach to this. The details you point out were things I missed myself, and none of the other reviewers I've seen have mentioned. But, they're details that would have driven me crazy. So, you saved me from making a significant investment I would have regretted. I appreciate other reviewer's optimism and enthusiasm, but having objective, well-considered criticism is really important. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
😍👌🏽👌🏽
But it didn't fail when you were chopping....... so if used properly, will it really fail?
1 year later, they sit around on the secondary at $400-450. What a change in economy
Noticed another difference: lockbar releif cut is on the inside on the newer one, which is great.
Good review, thanks! My copy doesn't have those mismatched grind lines. However, it does have gritty action, lock-stick, unfinished edges, and it came with a mostly dull blade. To me, it does not feel like a $600 knife. I'm not impressed and I will be sending mine back.
It was very refreshing to see this video verbalize what I was somehow feeling! PS: (To reach that state of mind, it would be logical to buy various expensive high-end knives, but in my case, I don't have any high-end knives, so I am just jealous, lol)
Too bad it wasnt your last ride ever...

Thanks for the free engagement!
Cuts half a tree down in 2 seconds….knife sucks.
So am I crazy or is this just $1,500 on every website?
WIERD, MINE FUNCTIONS FINE
I was looking at buying one from Southern Edges until I heard you say the price was 400-something and it’s listed there for 735 😬
Who did the work on your Roadhouse? Looks good.

Good job bro good commentary yeah shirogorov is what I was thinking when i first saw this knife new subscriber 😊
Hey, thank you sir! I’m in the middle of a move so content is low but once I get settled, I’ll be back up and running! Thanks 🙏
I have this knife and the Chis Reeve large 31. I spent weeks traveling and hunting. I don't aee anything that the 31 can do that the narrows can't. The Chris Reeve was over 600 dollars, so more expensive. Most of the people that are talking about knives don't use them anyway so carry your Milwaukee box cutter. For people that work and play relying on their tools we are willing to spend more for a very very slight increase in performance. Is this knife worth the price? Hell no but that is just the diminishing return on higher teir products that is everywhere. Oh and the Chris Reeve knifea are over priced too but atill very good for doing knife ahit.
Thanks for the comment! I think they are both great knives- the tough thing for me was how similar the narrows was to the bugout.. but the narrows is $300 more.
My large 31 has 3 thumbstuds...should I send it back?
Umm where is the third one? 🫣
Did that clip come with the knife?
It did not. It is from Purvis
Good review attention to detail and honesty gonna subscribe
Thank you sir! 🙏
I second this
I have a clone of the same version of stitch in D2, the edge retention is very very very good compare to any custom D2 blade i have, the lock is top notch too, the only downside is i think its too heavy (i dont have authentic stitch to compare to) , all just for USD40. I love it more than many knife in my collection including numbers of authentic Benchmade in various blade steel.
Glad you found a winner! Different strokes for different folks
Same!
Something Obscene (and SRC for that matter) is/are the biggest kool-aid drinking club I've ever seen in the edc community. My personal opinion.
They are definitely close knit. Not the worst SM culture I’ve seen but they are certainly polarizing
I wouldn't mess with Serpents Run Customs if you paid me. Dude's a joke.
Did you have a bad experience with Cris?
@@the_pointy_end big time man I've got the entire story on my channel
So would you still buy a Winkler in 2024?
I’d have to say no. My buddy makes knives in his garage and I have really been enjoying what he puts out.
Sure thats not a Boker 😂. Seriously though at least they fixed the issues
😂 pretty sure but fair question
Hot take. No pivot is better. :)
Hahah agreed. 👍🏼
is it just me that likes the snail trails and the color rubbing off the thumb stud?
I don’t mind snails, like them even! I just take issue with how easily the blue Ano comes off… not even worth them applying it IMO
I heard the lynch clip that works for the spyderco models fits. 🤔 i gotta check that out. 💪🗡
Ohhh that would make sense! I’ll look into that. Thanks for the comment!
Love mine its laser sharp
For sure! Sharpness right out the box 🫡
I almost grabbed one the other day 😅
Hahaha nooooooo!
I heard it had issues than the original
What issues? I’m new to the company.
Shane Hiatt ( SH9 Knives ) are definitely unique if you're into supporting Seals and / or veterans
Mike Ritland does a good interview with him
I’ll have to check that company out!
PDW or TAD ? Gotta pick one
PDW then. But I still have a lot of tad stuff 🤣
@@the_pointy_end Im of the opinion that whatever Patrick Ma is involved in is gonna be golden 👌🏻
@@TXFarmRoad 💯
I wasnt the slightest bit interested in this when it was released, but compared to all the stuff thats been coming out lately its actually a fairly compelling design
Hah! You aren’t wrong.. maybe that’s the problem 🤣 hope you are well!
Love this knife, I just purchased my second.
Great knife, great choice!
Bearings are for little kids that like toys to play fidget with washers are for grown-ups that need a real ass tool to work with!!!
Let me guess- washers guy? 🤣
You forgot the biggest difference between the two. A carburized titanium lock bar on the 21 and a ceramic ball lock bar on the 31.
Definitely! Thanks for bringing that up! I was naive to that fact before
Looks like a tracker Dan / John gray collab
Very similar!
Evan if you don’t Loctite your pivot it’s so big and over beefy it would never back out all the way. you can unscrew the pivot all the way to 1 thread left and it still wouldn’t back out. They are custom made for crk
I have definitely backed out the pivot and body screws all the way unfortunately
