Saving A Junkyard BMW E46 M3 (Building A Drift Car / Racecar!)

I've been looking for a BMW E46 325i or a 328i, but every car that you find on the Internet is overpriced or completely clapped out beyond repair. Finally one came up at of all places... a JUNKYARD! The E46 platform also has a wide catalog of aftermarket parts now readily available (LS Swap Kits, Angle Kits, Coilovers, Suspension Arms, Weld in Roll Cages, and much more. The idea of building a c...

Finally the time has come! We have completed the 750HP 2JZ VVTI set up for our Rocket Bunny Boss14 240sx. Over the past few months the car has been on the road for quite some getting built by Portland Speed Industries and Universal Machine. Last weekend we transported the Boss14 to Road Atlanta to Drive in Gridlife South Event. It was so surreal to drive a car, that I just got done driving at M...

As I was editing my most recent Vlog, I had to bust out one of my old external Hard Drives to save some of the new content I recently shot. As I was digging through the old hard drive, I found a bunch of video clips from 2014 when Chris Forsberg, Crop Dustin, jhonnattan Castro, Dylan Huges, and myself did a drift exhibition for Nissan in Mexico City. This video showed everything from Dustin and...
How To Not Get RIPPED OFF Buying an Imported JDM Engine. (2JZ VVTI BREAK DOWN)
zhlédnutí 397KPřed 6 lety
I recently purchased my first imported 2JZ VVTI engine from Japan. I personally have never imported an engine before, and I wanted to make sure that we received an engine that was worth building. I disassembled the motor with 2JZ engine builder Keith Johnson from Murica Motorsports who showed me everything I should be looking for to make sure we imported a good quality engine. The first thing w...

Dang exact same build I’m putting together right now. Sick stuff. I’ll definitely use that manifold then!
Why would you build a cathedral port in 2024
Holley discontinued that intake and you can’t find a replacement lid
Not the intake I would have chosen for that set up but to each their own.
What alternator and bracket is that
#sausagewhistle!!!
i tested a few sets of" A-Premium " they all tested out good.....
You said ‘ball joints’. Hold up Hoss, love ya!!
Just need a 2k Barra. 1000hp on 6 cyls easy money.
Doesn’t the low ram kill torque
Maybe on a factory LS, but we bumped up the compression to 11:1, hoping the low ram can give us a bit more air across the entire range.
@@CoreyHosfordRacingdo you think it’s still a benefit I have one not sure if I wanna throw it on ima be running nitrous and e85 with a cam rn still stock I have all the parts not sure to put it on or leave stock intake
@CoreyHosford gymkhana driftcourse tribute for ken block... food for thought
V8 Best
Wow very impressive to see massive differences in just installed some amazon ones in my 91 4runner but it so old might not damage it but definitely would not use these in much newer cars.
Ayyy Corey content! AKA it gets returned to Amazon 😆
Slap gen V LT1 heads on it with the BTR cam

Been telling everyone this is the next s chassis just like the z but z nowadays are hard to find too (a clean one)
i have a infiniti g35 2006 all stock for sell if you want to take a look

I like seeing him tighten the pan bolts with a torque wrench.
It’s a G your not finding oil
Yeah I heard you don’t ever need to do oil changes on G’s you just refill them.
IS300 >
Finding one that came with a manual is sooo hard! And, they are asking quite a bit for the manual versions. I love the is300 platform, just hard to find one.
Only if they made a rwd camry🥺
You're ok with an automatic? No thanks Tom Hanks.
It’s a 6 speed, the original transmission it came with from the factory. 👍🏼
@@CoreyHosfordRacingcan you show me where you shop for cars cause 3,000 was a steal im looking for another car
@@micaiahbradley8546Facebook market place seems to be the juice!
Excited to see the turn out fr
G35s are sick. It’s getting somewhat harder to find a manual one cheap. You’ll find some sedans at 5-6k for a nice manual. But the autos are pretty cheap at 1-4k
$7,000 drift car? I'll take one.
We’re going to try! I’ll honestly be excited if we are sub 10k!
Need to watch some @richardholdner vids. Short runner intake manifold (like the low ram) perfoms best at higher rpm (above 7000) with s loss of torque and power down low. So intake needs to match camshaft power range for best results.
Can I run that intake with a stock wiring harness for the throttle body and fuel injector connections
Nice! wont get much more than that without a supercharger though.
Change to a high ram and take the stroke in the opposite direction and u can shift at 9-10000 rpm and get 8-900 hp
Now you're talkin!
@@CoreyHosfordRacing i was a boost nutcase until I discovered cosworth engines. And watched guys out high rails port injected 4 cylinders to 500 plus HP. And I was like wait a second? Then I started watching g banks too and I was like ohhh, ur actually trying to compress the air and the more heat the less that compression works. There’s actually the right amount of vaccume to pull all the air u need into the cylinder, u just need to make the best pathway there, the coolest as possible and port injection keeps them cool, as well as if u can maintain the rpm higher u can get linear increasss every 1000 rpms. And instead of having the air come in and slit into 8 places, u make it every two cylinders and u also design the intake manifold and arrange the timing so when a valve closes that air going into the closed rail bounces off and directs itself into an open valve. U have a better shot at making this happen when u pair up the cylinders and based on the firing order and timing u pair those specific ones. So the Valkyrie intake is a great example of this. There is 6 verticle rails on a v12. They are high and straight verticle but the inside of it has baffles that help bounce that air back and forth to the next valve opening. It’s like a ping pong ball sending air into the valve with extra pressure than the vaccume of the piston. U should see the customizing and special porting old timers do to 4 cylinder cosworth engines for the dirt drift racing cars. I forgot what their called but they look like go carts that can fly cuz the giant wing on the top of the cart. But y wanna see how to properly build a NA monster u start with a cosworth and watch those drift cart thingys motor guys. They port the shit by cylinder and totally alter the intakes. But they have extra ports they add in to measure cfm, vaccume and temp and they tune each cylinder individually. They’ll make it able to flow more fuel. They’ll increase the amount of fuel out of the injector they have pre set dies they make to drill in different angels that they know already ahead of time are needed to effect the flow. They will change the spread on the injector by plugging parts of the screen to make one side flow more fuel and a more direct path rather than it bouncing off of some side of the rail and taking longer to reach the valve. It’s crazy
lol getting the LS valve train to hold up to that is a pain and more money than worth it. Not to mention I think the LS heads run out of flow that high
@ThePookybear56 obviously that build in the video ain't cheap and those aren't stock LS heads and i can get LS the flow pretty dang well..u ever heard of texas speed? Pretty sure they make a pretty decent high flow head. Then we can go to the non jacketedd billet heads that have no water jackets and can be ported till the sun comes home buddy. My camaro shift light comes on at 9000 rpms n I'm a electrician lol. I'm sure guys who do this daily can get way more done then me
No cable throttle? 😢
Hell ya man
Nice build bro! Was it easier to install the LS with the front bumper,& radiatorsupport removed?
Looks good but a stock intake would move that air. If your going boost the the Holley is needed.
Song
Low ram is designed for hi rpm use
Did you resleeve the Ls1?
How is the hood clearance? I was in the process of building an Ls swapped e46 a few years ago and really the only option on the market was the factory intake. Are you just offsetting the lost torque from the shorter runners with the larger displacement?
Dude is making a big deal like some aftermarket intake is needed to make 550+ HP NA. Factory intake can do that no problem lol
Well when you have 2 LS1 intakes crack on you, Its' crazy that a Holly intake manifold can make you so happy. It's the small things! Ha.
550 hp at the crank is alot different than 550 wheel. Real car guys don't talk crank hp or estimated crank hp.
Oh, then do you say wheel horsepower when its on an engine dyno?@@midnight347
trail blazer ss intake works good.
Not hard to make 550hp with LS. I took a $1500 junkyard 6.0 (rect port heads) and put in a cam and long tubes. Tada! 550hp. And that was a mild street cam.
550 at the crank maybe. Was it dynoed? I've seem similar setups make 500 crank.
@@midnight347 it was. 475 wheel. Those rect port heads really flow.
@@kyle8380what cam
Was this on an LS1? you won't get much more than that without E85 or forced induction
What size cam? I'm thinking of going with a sloppy stage 2
Hey its Eli from fight club!!
Alright, you went big on the low end ,and skipped the heads😮
Nice
The price of those parts are ridiculous .
Thats 550hp at the engine, right?
Of course it is. People love quoting engine hp numbers to make it sound more impressive in the click bait title.
@@midnight347 Still that is around 500 to the wheel
@@exoticspeedefy7916how do you figure? 20% drivetrain loss brings you to 440 wheel
@@bighitstepside Most cars loose about 40-50hp through the drivetrain
@@bighitstepsideits not a wrx bro it doesnt have 20% drivetrain loss lmao its prolly like 480-500 wheel
There is a 632 ci N/A mustang Mid 90s body style at Sick summer that ran a 7.49 today and can apparently run faster that that. Low 30s.. thing is sick
