Open chest surgery with median sternotomy to remove thymoma
Where did u have surgery
I’ve been fighting Thymoma for 2 years and I’m happy to try answer any questions
Hi Sarah, I hope you're doing well today. Are you able to give an update? My loved one was diagnosed this week and I've been looking for people's stories...
❤
Do you have thymoma too ?
Eliminate pork, sugar, dairy, redmeat, candy, sweets, processed food and fried foods from your diet and juice every hour on the hour, Blessed Be.
They always come back inconclusive …. It’s annoying !
How are you doing these days ?
Wow just found your channel. I am one month out from surgery. I was diagnosed with an anterior mediastinal thymoma. I am doing well just extremely sore still. So glad to find your videos and to see you are doing well. Do you find yourself getting sad or depressed just crying sometimes after the surgery?
I've been diagnosed with thymoma.I've never been this scared
Did you have symptoms before or when they found the tumor? I have a rare disease called Myasthenia Gravis and thymoma's are highly linked to the disease. My doctor never got it scanned like protocol dictates, and I have a lot of pressure under my throat in the center of my chest, dry cough when it's bad and shortness of breath. I'm scared I have it but my doctor keeps giving me the run around about ordering a ct scan.
vicki, get another doctor. my journey started out with breast surgery for cancer. with all the tests I was given, the thymoma was discovered. I have surgery on the 26th of August for the thymoma. I wish you well
How big is it? I had a CT SCAN and found out I have a 9.6cm anterior mediastinal mass
I’m about to have a biopsy also for the same thing if the radiologist can do it with color contrast my tumor is in the pericardium near the heart and a vein coming from my neck. They also told me they may have to to sternotomy on me. The color contrast should some highlighted cells. They found out I had a mass when I was going for pre-op surgery for knee replacement in October of last year through an exray they had me do a ct scan then and another on last month. Due to Covid-19. That was done with color contrast. Thank you for putting out your video it has helped me keep more calm to see that someone else has gone through this.
Sarah, did you do adjuvant chemo? Biopsy? Did ct scan show any invasion/adhesion to any organs?
Thanks for sharing all this information, can I ask you what size Thymoma did you have.
10 cm
Sarah Likestobelittlespoon Thank you I think you are a lovely positive person, you have shared your experience openly. I very much admire you for sharing your valuable information with everyone. Stay strong and wish you a speedy recovery.
Dear Sarah, mine is also that big... I'm supposed to do chemo first to get better resection margins. You did chemo? How are you now?

Sarah Likestobelittlespoon did you end up needing radiation therapy and was the pathology confirmed to be benign ? Im also 29 years old i live in Ontario canada 🇨🇦 im so afraid its cancer
@@justwanabebeautiful the pathology was confirmed benign as in there were no cancer cells. The cells had spread to the edge of the membrane. I was passed to an oncologist and we discussed radiation. The surgeon felt like he got it all and the pathologist agreed so I decided not to go through with it. The negatives of radiation and getting a secondary aggressive cancer from it were too high to do it on a maybe. Plus once you ve had radiation on an area you cant have it again so I didn't want to limit my options in the future. There is great debate whether a thymoma is or isn't cancer ...but my oncologist said it wasn't and my doctor said it wasn't and my insurance refused to pay out saying it wasn't so I'm going with them.
Dear Sarah, did they use chemo to shrink it first?
@@Thymomaupdates how are u feeling now everything ok?
