The Honey Badger is a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. We got her in October of 2019. We went to the Jeep dealership to look at Grand Cherokees for me to use for work. I drove several and thought we had made our decision, but when we walked into the showroom Honey Badger was sitting there looking all sexy and it was love at first sight.
We are new to making videos so bear with us as we learn as we go. Our video equipment is not professional by any means, but we do the best we can.
Now, about us, Lawrence and I got together in 2008 and married in 2017. I have 4 boys from a previous marriage. I was widowed an a young age and Lawrence helped me through. The boys are all grown and we have 4 grand babies so far.
I am a professional photographer and Lawrence works for an underground drilling company in Alaska as the HSE advisor.

Bear Country USA 360
Bear Country is just about 10 minutes outside of Rapid City South Dakota.
You can get your tickets online or pay at the gate. We went in the late afternoon, but it doesn't take long to drive through.
You can't drive through in anything with an open top. You can't roll your windows down which makes it hard to video or take pictures so I did the best I could with what I had to work with.
After driving through we parked in the lot and let Uru stretch his legs while I took a walk through the zoo part of the park. Several enclosures were empty or no-shows, which was disappointing, but the grounds are nice and well kept.
Some of the animals in the drive through were also not visible either. Most of the animals looked old and worn out, but the bears were cool to see up close.
Admission Pricing:
Adults (Ages 13 - 61): $22
Child (Ages 5 - 12): $17
Young Child (Ages 4 and under): Free
Seniors (Ages 62+): $20
Military/First Responders Adult (Ages 13-61): $20
Military Child (Ages 5 - 12): $15
Maximum Price Per Vehicle: $80
This is the maximum per passenger vehicle. Meaning we charge per person and once it hits this maximum, that is what you pay for the vehicle.

Dinosaur Park in 360

Next up was Dinosaur Park (July 13th). 360 view. Dinosaur Park isn't much, but it is on the highest hill in the town of Rapid City. It was just a 10 minute drive from our hotel. The view of the town was pretty awesome. There is no admission fee. You park in the lot of the gift shop and walk through. Make sure to visit the gift shop too, there is a lot of cool stuff there.

We wanted to be able to get some sightseeing in while we were there so we started with Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park. The drive is absolutely breathtaking. We took the trailer to the car wash and not surprised it didn't fit, but we got most of it washer, especially the front where the cricket guts were. A sneak peak of the opals we found all in water curing. Lawrence bought me an opal necklace from the gift shop too.
Last Day - Homeward Bound

We didn't leave camp until late morning. We wanted to sleep in and cook a nice camp breakfast and visit the gift shop one more time to get some souvenirs. Paid our bill and headed down the road. Finally digging day. The weather wasn't too bad. It was pretty cool till about noon then when our shade went away it warmed up. Digging times are only from 8am-4pm so you want to make the best of it. The digging season is from May 15-Octobet 15 weather permitting. It cost $190 a person per day to dig the bank (totally worth it) $75 to sift through the tailings piles. We stayed the night i Winnemucca Nevada and had breakfast at my favorite place the next morning. The Griddle has the best pancakes ever. The night we stayed at the Valley of Fire was miserable. It was hot and we couldn't run the generator past 10 PM. I opened the door and windows and cranked my little battery fans up. How does the Gladiator perform towing the Geo Pro?
Hi! Great review! We have a 20BHS and we love it! I noticed the small struggle when you opened the main door. Check you door strike (located on the frame of the trailer) ours was installed backwards which made the door harder to open. Since we switched it around, we see a huge difference :-) Happy travels!

I'm curious as to how difficult it is to get an Australian Blue Cattle dog outside of Australia. I see them in a lot of Nth American CZcams videos. Also, I wonder if they became desireable because of the Road Warrior movie (Mad Max 2). I'm Australian (in Australia) and I've had two 'Blue Heelers' in my life. Fun fact: Did you know they live longer than any other dog? The Guiness Book of World Records reports that a Blue Heeler named Major was the oldest dog at 27 years old. They're a hybrid of a Dingo, a Kelpie and a Scottish Blue Mearle Collie, bred to perform cattle work in the harsh Australian outback.
I am not sure. My son got his ACD from a breeder here in Arizona that got the parents in Australia. They are great dogs we use them to work cattle. We have had several over the years because they are such good dogs.
In about 3 years or so, I also may get a small (and "off-road ready") travel-trailer (TT) for my Gladiator (when it's paid-off!), but a slightly smaller/lighter-weight TT. Will use the truck's bed (which has a tri-fold hard bed-cover on it) to carry extra water, propane and such to extend any boon-docking/dry-camping stays. Maybe even a small gas/propane generator.
