What a ridiculous way of connecting power wires especially multiple wires.

Yeah im in a Share, god forbid i shut the main breaker so i can do it safely without everyone bugging out for 5 damn minutes without shocking myself cuz i wanna cut em off and use the side screws.We have 3 dead outlets on this and i have new ones and changed several at work but i have to figure out which breaker without shutting the whole house off as none are marked naturally.Last year i replaced a breaker.The big lady is plugging in her AC right now from the outlet that died a month ago to the one that already has a 6 gang plug in it.I garantee its gonna keep popping off.This place needed new outlets yrs ago so their old , some are even upside down 😂 but she refuses to quit smoking plus shes large but def not in charge lol and it "is" quite Hot in that living room so if it pops ill trip the breaker and replace the 3 outlets that are dead while im at it.Wish me luck lol .

Thank you for this simple trick. I didn’t have a small flat head so I used the small file on a pair of nail clippers and worked perfect. This is why I love CZcams for people like yourself to help a dumbass like me that jumps right into things and needs people like you to get me out of jams rather than swearing at myself trying to yank those wires out without this trick, lol.

Nice video. I had this issue and still could only get 1 of the 4 out. Ended up prying the outlet apart and saw why. Apparently there's a variant of this in which the"one-way" tabs that hold the wire in are actually separate, meaning you'd have to shove something in the same hole as the wire for this to work. If all else fails, pry the metal pieces away from the top and bottom of the outlet and then pry the face off and get it from the front. Also useful of the imbecile didn't leave you enough wire to pull it out, but that never happens 😂

I was about to cut the wires and replace the outlet... I just wanted to swap for a USB outlet in another room. Thank you. Direct to the point!

Rather than cutting the wire like I did after watching video, I learnt that the right way is to push a thin flat head screwdriver in the rectangle hole below where the wire is inserted and the wire comes off easily. No need to cut wires, remove and inserr in replacement socket and saves lot of time.

Buy a Mr Coffee Maker !!!

If you are struggling to remove the old ones, don’t be scared to use a lot of force. Sometimes they are stuck really good in there.

Pro tip when you finally get the dumb things out, use the screws instead on the reinstall

Sir, great video and easy but I do not have that filter you pulled out in the reservoir? I have the same machine as yours with the 5 settings.

You make it look so easy. I've tried this many, many times, including today after watching your video. Can't make it work. Hubby and I tried about 5 different screwdrivers, some really tiny and some that just fit the slot. I think Leviton here in Canada is probably laughing. Luckily I had enough wire to just cut them.

Except when no amount of force with any of the tiny screwdrivers you own will get it to release...

Good video sir but please make sure you tell everyone verbally to turn power off at the breaker and verify it to be OFF at the switch with a simple voltage detector before you do this otherwise your palm would be touching a potentially hot screw while pushing in the back of the screwdriver (1:01) - could lead to a nasty surprise at the very least....
