Thanks. My issue is that my lock cylinder does not work. I assume I need to get the lift gate opened, then replace my cylinder. Does anyone know or have any guidance on replacing the cylinder? Not sure if I can open the hatch if I can't unlock it. Thanks!!

Take the rear sear back swing down seat module. Remove cushion, adhere upholstory carpet on back of metal seat back pan. trim reminaing seat cover not needed with cushion removed from pan. Fab wood supports to space from horizontal pan position to floor. Add piano hinge to end of seat pan (forward edge with pan laid down horizontal) add plywood section to other side of piano hinge for door filling between pan to seat bases of driver/passenger seat. Yields added storage volume of seat back cushion and covers rear foot wells and trany hump. Can cut and hinge doors into seat back pan for access to storage area without lifting the pan and wood panel extension..

I just did this and put everything back together to find out the air is stuck on defrost. So tired 😂

Thanks for the info - I have a 99 XJ. Perhaps I used too wide a zip-tie - mine wouldn't hold. The rod has ridges and they not threads - so a nut of any kind won't work. I ended up using a 1/4" wire clamp which is a u-bolt clamp with two nuts to tighten where you placed a zip -tie. So far - so good

Hey I appreciate you being so thorough but if you didn't have a leak in the evaporator coil it was totally unnecessary to replace it. I understand the heater coil going bad because it's copper but the evaporator coil is aluminum and usually doesn't need replacing.

Water leakage in the rear in my case came from the bolts of boot door hinges. Ride without liner and you see it

Wrong, wrong wrong!! That rod is threaded for a reason, it's supposed to turn! Just push that green clip on the bottom of that rod and push it to the left. The rod pops out. Then turn that rod to the right, two or three times. Push the rod back into the clip. Push the clip to the right and you are done.

What was your altitude when you were getting the better gas mileage? I noticed my mileage went up to 22 mpg from a more typical 18 mpg at sea level. My brother who is a pilot told me that it had more to do with the O2 sensors dialing back the fuel feed to balance for the thinner oxygen than any aerodynamic drag reduction, if that makes any sense.

I believe those plastic pieces on side of evaporator hold an air filter in place.

Switch which side your heads on while sleeping and its much easier to enter and exit

Your caps are already marked from factory. There’s a vertical H and a horizontal H on the diff on each side. There’s the same markings as the caps.

Worked well for my 01 XJ. Turned out my handle wasn’t contacting the release arm at all in the closed position. Undid the clip at the bottom holding the threaded rod in place and threaded the whole arm in more until it was touching the handle. Now the hatch is smooth as butter🤌🏼
