Terrible design model. For the price I’m paying the cup should atleast come with spare lids OR tools for cleaning. A cup should not be this complicated to clean. I will see what brumate has to offer🙃

I was about to purchase until I seen the mold issue. This is a health hazard, they shouldn’t be allowed to sell until the model is improved.

My hydrojug lid broke while trying to clean the black mold

CANNOT GET THE LID OFF!!! ITS EMBARRASSING!!! CANNOT REFILL WHEN NOT AT HOME - NEED A RUBBER GRIPPER AND A LOT OF STRUGGLING (PLUS A LIT OF PUSHING AGSIN THE HANDLE - I SEE THIS AS BREAKING OFF AS IVE ONLY HAD THIS 10 DAYS - BUT ITS A DAILY WORKOUT TO GET THE DAMN LID OFF!!! Literally can not open the lid even with a rubber gripper - it was empty and I was thirsty - THANK GOD I still have my Stanley!!! I cannot open the lid - I do NOT turn it tight - not harder than I should - I just screw it on and cannot get the lid off!!! You said you’d respond to our comments! Please respond to this!!!

I like how you said to clean it. But I need help where the ball is that help the straw go up and down, I want to clean that. I can't get to it and there looks like there is mold

So, Hydroflask, give us a video that shows how to remove the mold that forms in the lid. The brushes won't get into the places where the mold forms. And taking the spout off runs the risk of breaking, and degrading the watertight seal.

So when are you going to issue replacement lids that don't get mold in them?

Thanks to these comment i did not give up. I boiled water 80 degrees of celcius poured it onto the mouth part and then it popped easily while pressing onto it. U can not imagine what gunk is under...

How do you get the sipper out of the lid? There’s so much mold, stuck in mine. I can’t use it anymore.

I have had the mold issue too, I contacted customer service through email and they sent me a brand new cup. I was just asking for a new lid… we have tried everything to get the sipper out to clean out the mold. It’s ridiculous that this is my favorite cup but molds like it does!

Search how it disassembled Hydrojug travel lid in the search box and you will find how they disassemble the foldable straw spout to clean it. the brushes the talk about in this video do not reach to clean it thoroughly.

Anti microbial until it gets mold 😮you need to design a lid that disassembles to clean it thoroughly. Before someone gets seriously sick from the mold. You have a great idea now just fix it!

I had mold they replaced the lid but there is a CZcams video on how to disassemble the foldable straw spout.. it’s not easy my had a very hard time. I love my traveler but I will not buy another one till they fix the issue and make a lid and foldable straw that totally dissembles to clean it thoroughly. The little brushes they show in the video don’t work. I will just keep having them replacing the lid and straw every time I see any mold.

What an awful design flaw. The straw doesn’t separate from the lid but has a bunch of little nooks and crannies. What the fuck? We’re not seeing mold (yet) in ours but what a bitch it is to clean these cups.

My cup got mold where the spout is and I’ve only had it for a month. I clean it all the time but I don’t know what to do now since i don’t know where those little brushes are and in top of that the mold is where you can’t get into the grooves. Please help

I just received my Hydro jug 40 oz. Today. I have been trying for 30 minutes to get the lid off. It is on so tight it will not budge. Any suggestions? I’m about ready to send it back.

This did not resolve my issue. My straw still sits to the side of the cup. I emailed them and they said it’s not considered “faulty” as long as it’s leak proof... Had to order a new one so hopefully it’s made correctly

Love my hydro jug, but I can't get the straw off to clean

For everyone complaining of mold - I've had my hydrojug for over 2 months now and I soak the lid in Baking Soda and Vinegar (as they clearly tell you to!) and boiling water every 2 - 3 days, submerge the lid in the mixture before I go to bed, leave overnight and then rinse the next morning - I've had Zero issues with mold so far. I'm thinking some people are just nasty with cleaning and leave it way longer than they should to disinfect the lid 🤢🤮

I was gifted one of these 3 days ago and they are amazing. I put ice in at 630am and was adding more water to it throughout the day and i was shocked at 7 at night... still ice in it. Next morning.. water still cold. This thing doesn't leak. I've never owned a Stanley.. never will. Won't pay the price. I honestly would of never bought this cuz I'm cheap. It was a great gift

I think you need to redesign the lid, so it is easier to clean. I know people that have done all the recommended things and the tiny brushes don't reach where the mold is.

I call BS. I purchased those tiny brushes from Temu and it does NOT completely clean those areas on the lid.
