In this video, I ended up biking to Gimli with my brother, cousin, and few of my friends. Almost all of them had never done any biking thing even close to this, so it was very cool to see them do it. We went 160km over 2 days.

    Yes thanks for sharing these videos. In 1993 my wife and I drove from Calgary to Bellville, Ontario via Mount Rushmore, Windsor and Niagara Falls. Then we went home on the Trans-Canada seeing White River's Winnie the Pooh statue and the Terry Fox memorial at Thunder Bay. I've always wanted to go to Manitoulin Island and see the world's largest lake within a lake. Do I understand rightly that you got on and off the island in one day? I thought it was a five hour drive across it.

      Checked on google maps, only 1 hr 45 min to get from one side to the other east to west. About an hour south to north.

      That seems like an awesome trip! Manitoulin island would be a 5 hour drive if you would do the whole thing I’ve heard as well. However, I took the main hwy, south to north which isn’t as much, maybe an hour drive. Still very beautiful, but you could spend so much time there! Thanks for watching!

    It took me two weeks to get through your western Canada video in bits and pieces. I've done part one of this in a week. I should have this done tomorrow. I live just outside Calgary. I've flown to Montreal but only drove as far east as Kingston, ON. However I've never gone any further north than St. Albert just outside Edmonton.

    good stuff. just wondering...when you're on a road with a gravel shoulder, do you pull off onto the gravel when cars are approaching from the rear? there seems to be a lot more paved shoulders than when i last lived in s.w. 'toba back in the early 80s so that's good. great episode so thanks. keep 'em coming.

      @@bertski60 Manitoba has pretty decent shoulders now. When it is a gravel shoulder, I often stay on the road, because gravel is quite a bit more difficult, and there often isn’t many cars coming by. Thanks for watching!

    I knew an amazing man named John Thomas in Pat Bay BC he was in the military with me, he once rode a bike (bicycle) from Halifax to New-Foundland. It wasn't like a good bike just like an old mountain bike. He ended up with his butt being like swollen and doctors told him he could not ride back that way, slept on the side of the road etc... People actualy like gave him food on the side of the road and he still made it there. He has so many other amazing stories.

Please do your future self a favour though and take good care of your nutritional needs and please wear the helmet more often(just see what happened to Gordon Ramses just the other week....he's lucky to be alive and says the only reason he is is because he was wearing a helmet)....I know your 19 and bullet proof...that's why I said do your future self a favour(take it from a 50plus year old that didn't lol)

    Nice video! You seem to bicycle a lot on main roads and highways. Is there a reason for that? Where I live (Europe) we usually stick to back roads (gravel roads, dirt roads or countryside roads) with less traffic.

      I definitely took a few of the main hwys, definitely took a lot of small hwys this trip too. Often taking the main hwys means there’s a nice big shoulder, and it’s often not crazy busy besides in the cities. Sometimes there also isn’t any other options for different hwys to take, especially in northern Ontario, and a few other places as well.

      Only saw 1 bear this trip, as most of my trip, they still weren’t out yet. Last trip though I saw 22, some coming a tad close. I just had bear spray just in case but I never had an issue. Thanks for watching!

      also I have so many question 🙈 what kind of gloves do you wear to be able to keep on riding? and I guess it was too cold to get wet from the snow mush the many trucks throw up? have driven to Thunder Bay myself BY CAR and the roads were really tough to manage

      @@paperjourni8964 Thank you! That cold was quite a challenge, and makes it a whole different trip. The thick gloves I just bought from Canadian tire, nothing special, and they did the job. I did get wet quite often with the snow, as my body heat would melt it on my body, all of it was manageable though, just some pretty tough days.

    Liam, this was phenomenal to watch. I just took a trip out to Emo, ON crossing my first border too and my first multi-day trip! To see you in Halifax, cycling around reminded me of last summer when I also did the same (mind you, I flew out then biked around) but watching this was kind of surreal for me... Anyways, keep it up man. Where are you heading to next?
