The Replacements - Quicksand
"You're playing and you think everything is going fine. Then one thing goes wrong. And then another. And another. You try to fight back, but the harder you fight, the deeper you sink. Until you can't move... you can't breathe... because you're in over your head. Like quicksand. "

"If I could be anything other than what I am, I'd want a tomorrow. If I could be what my father wants me to be, maybe I could stay for that too. If I could be what you want me to be, then I'd want to stay. But I am what I am and all I want is freedom."
So sad....now go clean up the mess
If you've ever played competitive sports you know exactly what Falco is talking about. It's actually scary to think about..
"NOOOOOOOOO RICHARD! noo richard nooo." - Kate McKinnon as Isla
I LOVE THIS SCENE
We will always have ....
Wilkerson's immediate head snap to Falco when he says quicksand, and throwing trash at Franklin for his reply always told me that he understood what Shane meant immediately
The recording of the exhale and sniffle from one of the coffin carriers at the start is so appropriate and moving
I still get chills when i see this part of the movie 🎬 This is by far one of the greatest football movies in cinema history❤
Kurt Warner vibes from Shane Falco
So many lines here blatantly stolen from Family Guy
I use the quicksand analogy all time to explain to ppl how I’m feeling and the thing I go through in life
The Watchman River channel’s newest vid brought me here.
This vid's so old damn 😢
We'll always have Paris..........knees turn to spaghetti, heart melts, AND breaks into a million pieces. How do you say goodbye to the love of your life? When Ilsa looks down and really starts to cry, I cant take it. Cry every time.
For such a funny movie this is actually such a deep scene! He also explains that overwhelming feeling so well
Enigmatic quote😮
How can a different actor can deliver those line with the same passion ?
It's what Natalie does all the time... "Steals the scene"
So many beautifully powerful lines in one scene❤❤❤
😂😂😂😂
Humphrey Bogart actually improvised the iconic line "Here's looking at you, kid" during filming! That's crazy!
So cool;seventeen years ago?!
“Here’s looking at you, kid.” 😍
It's a weird feeling how you watch the scene and hear the guy who said Prison is now serving 40 years to life in prison for murder. Michael Jace was my best actor and underrated as well but very unfortunate what took place.
I cry, every time. The agony of shouldering that weight; you bear it because you love them but it is also just so unbearable it hurts.
They perfectly cast John Barton.
“I’m formed and you’re not. You still have changes to go through…” Willie rightfully explaining her infatuation and why it would be wrong to take advantage, this movie was well-written
After watching the cowboys game vs the Packers this is exactly how it went down.
SNL version 😂😂😂
Natalie made me stiff back in the day
Love scene forever
Rick: Because you're getting on that plane. (Ilsa: "I don't understand. What about you?") Rick: I'm staying here with him [Renault] 'til the plane gets safely away. (Ilsa: "No, Richard. No. What has happened to you? Last night...") Rick: Last night, we said a great many things. You said I was to do the thinking for both of us. Well, I've done a lot of it since then and it all adds up to one thing. You're getting on that plane with Victor where you belong. (Ilsa: "But Richard, no, I've...") Rick: Now, you've got to listen to me. Do you have any idea what you've have to look forward to if you stayed here? Nine chances out of ten, we'd both wind up in a concentration camp. Isn't that true, Louis? (Renault: "I'm afraid Major Strasser would insist.") (Ilsa: "You're saying this only to make me go.") Rick: I'm saying it because it's true. Inside of us, we both know you belong with Victor. You're part of his work, the thing that keeps him going. If that plane leaves the ground and you're not with him, you'll regret it. Maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life. (Ilsa: "What about us?") Rick: We'll always have Paris. We didn't have - we'd - we'd lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night. (Ilsa: "When I said I would never leave you..") Rick: And you never will. I've got a job to do too. Where I'm going, you can't follow. What I've got to do, you can't be any part of. Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Now, now. Here's looking at you, kid.
The way Jimbo says damn is amazing
Such a good film. Need to watch this again. December 2023 anyone?
1:20 I dont know what you were talking about but quick sand is everywhere in life
That’s why the scene is so deep. It’s not football. At all. This is life. Losing control. Trying to repair mistakes but just making it worse. Every attempt to fix the situation is just another mistake digging you deeper. Anxiety sets in. Stress, anger, fear. Crippling anxiety. You can’t breathe and don’t know what to do next because you’re second guessing so much Now you’re stuck and feel terrible and at your rock bottom This isn’t football. This is life
Wow, that’s how great and honorable men bid farewell to the woman he loves. None better than Boggie here!
Perfectly illustrates how an adult can lovingly and wholesomely interact with an infatuated child. Beautiful scene.
How did the deaf guy understand and what was his fear?
It’s funny cause he’s right 😂
Not anymore
One of the most underrated movies of all time
Where can I find the ost?
Someone needs to send this clip ....TO JOSH ALLEN 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 4 GOTT D@$# TURNOVERS ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!!
Show
Such a wonderful movie. Love is powerful.
I imagine this movie will always be a classic from the 40's.
Fornication is no forever…..in hell for your adultery…. Man people are so gullible
ginisa sa sariling mantika
Outstanding Pooh Bear scene!!
While I don't see Willie and Marty becoming a couple years later, I do see them staying in touch as friends because of their connection with one another.
“You’ve guys been given something that every athlete dreams of… a second chance. And you’re afraid of blowing it.” Man that hits deep. So applicable to life. You almost feel you don’t deserve it and would rather quit and run away than risk failing again and have people laugh at you and disappoint people. The quicksand example too. Life is going good and then you make one mistake. Then another and another and then anxiety sets in and you feel like you can’t move forward and every panic decision you make just is another mistake. So many men have dealt with this. Not just sports. But life in general. My favorite scene. Wish it had been longer tbh because it’s so damn relatable and important
That's why men have to be there for our brothers. A man's biggest sin is Lust a woman's is jealousy. As men we have to work harder and we have to be light houses for each other. To be able to be there for your friend is one thing in a sympathetic scenario, but when your brother is making stupid life choices and you're courageous enough to call him out...that's not a best friend that's called family.
