Trek dual sport 2.

    OMgosh! The CROSSWALK. I walk home from the metro every day to my building, but must cross a street, a major one, and as a pedestrian, EVERY. SINGLE. DAY I"ll be standing on the sidewalk where one crosses, looking in both directions, and NO. ONE. PAYS. ATTENTION. Once in a blue moon, someone will stop, but 99% of the time, I have to wait for a lull in the traffic to cross. STEAMS ME EVERY DAY. Plus, the other problem is that the crosswalk is at the bottom of a rise, so you're taking your life into your own hands when you see no traffic from the top of it, but hope that there isn't a convoy of cars about to crest the rise. Those girls sunbathing? Even as a walker, I'd find that annoying; they are impeding traffic, no matter the form. How self-absorbed can people be?

  • @johnpickett8041
    @johnpickett8041 Před 8 dny

    Whenever the subject of mystery noises comes up, I tell about the one that nearly drove me mad. In the fall and winter, I would sometimes hear a metallic tick-tick-tick sound. It happened only when I was pedaling and seated. Was it my pedals? My bottom bracket? My seat post? I had everything checked. I looked the bike over high and low. Then one day, as I was riding, I happened to look down. The aglets (the plastic coating at the end of cords and laces on clothing) of my cold-weather jacket were swaying back and forth, hitting the top tube as I pedaled. Tick-tick-tick.

    Thank you 🙏 What kind of bike should I buy for adult beginner?

    • @RideandShineBicycling
      @RideandShineBicycling Před 13 dny

      It all depends on what kind of riding you want to do. A hybrid bike is best for versatility. You can ride on a street, light gravel and dirt paths. You sit upright for a more comfortable position. A road bike is best for long distances on pavement. They are usually lighter than a hybrid bike and you sit leaning over for a more aerodynamic ride. A mountain bike is best for off road and rough terrain. Probably not the best choice for a beginner. A cruiser or a beach bike has wide tires and a big seat for comfort. It's mainly for casual beach rides or flat terrain. It's best to go to a reputable bike shop to get fitted for a bike. You can try out different kinds of bikes to see what you like and get advice from professionals. It might be tempting to go get a cheap bike at big box store but they are usually uncomfortable, heavy and cheaply made. If your bike is uncomfortable and keeps breaking you won't enjoying cycling. A well made bike that's tailored for you will last many years & will give you lots of cycling enjoyment. Good luck and let us know what bike you chose. Thank you for watching!

    I’m with you on the bike lane problem’s but your in the wrong when it comes to to a cross walk, note the word Walk. Get off your bike and walk across the street. That’s the law. Drivers must stop for walkers not bikes. Used an intersection to get get to the other side. How you say traveling north bound, travel on the right side of road north though the intersection stop far side of intersection turn your bike east wait for green light travel to other side or continue east this way you get to the others side without haveing to ride in traffic. You stay in the bike lanes but change direction. Cross walks are for pedestrians not bikes! Driver’s well most stop for stop signs and red lights.

    The triangles are yield signs and are for every vehicle coming from that street. It's not a rule to walk your bike across the street but pedestrians have the right of way on a crosswalk. So if you walk your bike you have the ride of way, if you ride the bike you don't.

    I own both a 2017 Brompton 6 speed and a 2001 Dahon Lightspeed. I definitely prefer the Brompton, but use the Dahon more for fear of theft. When you travel with a Brompton you pretty much need to bring it inside with you because they are theft magnets. Bringing the Brompton inside is OK for office commutes, visiting friends, shopping with a big shopping cart, and maybe the health club. However, forget about trips to the park, dentist, restaurants etc since they’re not very happy about you storing the Brompton in the corner or under the table. Note that I live in a downtown area in a small EU city so there is no parking for cars 99% of the time, so it’s only by « BMW » (bike, metro or walk)

    • @RideandShineBicycling
      @RideandShineBicycling Před 20 dny

      Ah, the classic Brompton dilemma: too cool to leave outside, but too fancy for a corner table! It’s like trying to sneak a celebrity into a restaurant without causing a scene. I love my black Dahon Mariner D8. Best bike I've ever had. The Dahon rides nice like a full size, handles very well, it is smooth. The Dahon also comes with fenders, rack, strap, The only accessory I bought was the Dahon Landing Gear to wheel the bike around while folded. And, the seat height, brake angle, handlebar stem height can all be adjusted. However it's not as convenient as the Brompton when folded, as its bigger and doesn't wheel around as easy.

      Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s always awesome to hear from fellow Dahon fans. Enjoy every ride on your Mariner D8!

    Wow best video of bike trail ride My wife and I have seen yet. My wife and I are in our late 60s now semi retired and we Ebike. Our range is 40 plus miles petal assist. My big question is on this trail are thier places with hotels. We just don't camp anymore???

    • @RideandShineBicycling
      @RideandShineBicycling Před 28 dny

      Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. There are definitely hotels along the trail, so you'll have plenty of comfortable options to rest your legs after a day of biking! I am right there with you. I am not a camper. There are parts in the video that show choices of hotels, Inns, and B&Bs from Georgetown, Brunswick, Harpers Ferry, Shepherdstown, Little Orleans, Paw Paw, and Cumberland.
