In the run in bar twelve, he plays F sharp, unlike most other soloists on CZcams who play F natural. The video clearly shows his fingers play the F sharp, (in case you can't hear it). Which note is correct? I prefer the F natural, along with Guiffredi, Frost, Bliss and others. But F sharp is played by Kim, Lluna and Ezra, but I could not see fingers for them, so could be mistaken. You can slow down the playback on CZcams so that helps.

the fact that he is able to play and cue the orchestra at the same time is truly incredible to me. I can only give slight cues to my pianist when I am playing clarinet but to do all the movement he is doing would cause me to mess up! Truly incredible performance!

This is tremendous music. Why is Zebeljan so neglected when it is obvious that she was a genius and whole person, taken from us so young? If all she had composed was Zora D she would have still been well above contemporaries. In the opera -- as here and in the violin concerto -- we are taken into a world belonging to no fixed time, shaped with substance and stunning mastery of the craft of a composer.

La meva versió preferida. Comença el descens inicial als greus amb energia a 1:15. Altres intèrprets intenten amagar les notes amb l'intenció de fer la frase més elegant, em sembla. Però trobo que empènyer avall és més coherent amb el gir dramàtic dels contrabaixos a 0:57. A més, donar força al registre greu augmenta el dramatisme del registre superior a 1:19. Vaig tenir com a professor de clarinet a en Carles Pertegaz, alumne d'en Joan Enric Lluna, que em va transmetre aquesta manera de tocar. Gràcies per pujar la gravació, i quina llàstima que hi hagués seients buits!

That tone is so vocal and fills up the hall with its ring quality. Really love it. Reminds me of a great opera singer.
