Extremely underrated movie.

You watch the movie and see what you think afterwords. In my opinion it's one of the best movies I've ever watched.

Seeing Eddie,s reflection in the window was freaky.

Actually the fact the military so easily wiped them out is actually probably the most realisitic depiction of what would happen if a non-intelligent alien life form invaded earth ever in a movie. There isnt a single organic compound or combination of biological defenses any creature could have that would be able to stop a .50cal round let alone a tank sabot round. And even if they somehow could stop the bullets that thing would still be dead from kinetic energy transfer on its own. Their insides would turn to liquid. So actually yes. The military would have wiped the floor with them. Even the big ones. They were only imposing because they attacked a grocery store full of geriatrics and people still in church clothes.

One of my favorite theories regarding the ending is that the terrestial beings are in fact angels. Not just any angels but Archangels. They saved chosen children and likely brought them to a new habitable world

In the "Making of" of the Movie, the Actor who plays the Captain mentioned his Character is tasked to go to Orphanages and choose the most "Promising" Babies from their Infant wards. And Kurt Russel said he had only 105 words or so of text.

I just noticed a fun fact. T-1000 injured Sarah in the elevator. So she was "sampled by physical contact" and T-1000 could copy her any moment... stupid machine.

Still freaks me out even today. I always watch The Exorcist and The Shining on Halloween. They don’t make movies as good as in the 70’s… like Jaws, The Poseidon Adventure, Deliverance, Network, etc. etc.

Yes, this was the first movie about exorcism. I heard that the theaters had to stock up on barf bags because some people threw up. Lol I saw it in the theater with my mom when I was about 11 years old. I was born in 1962, so 1973 I would have been 11.

Caleb and Abby and the 2 billion children, teenagers, babies and the animals are saved by the aliens and they were all put on a new planet to restart civilization like Adams and Eves everywhere

Zeroing in on Katsura as the husbando is kinda wild. The runtime of just the openings is enough to gleam quite a lot about the show. It's fun to see what blind watchers get from them.

The effect similar to the Star Trek transporters was not them teleporting. Those were inertial dampers to prevent the crew from being tossed around inside the spacecraft when it decelerated from faster-than-light speed to sub-light speed.

Jenny would have told Forrest she was pregnant, I’m sure. The problem was, he left home for three years, running all over the country. How would she know where he was? This was before social media, cellphones and emails. It surprises me how many people give Jenny a hard time for not letting Forrest know about his son. She had to wait, hoping that one day he would return home.

One of my favorite parts of the movie was when the creature attacked the ship. If you look closely you'll see Morbius in the Krell lab asleep, and in the background you can see many of the power gauges at full power. You'll find out later of course that the planet was creating the creature taken directly from Morbius' mind. I had just felt that this was a brilliant touch from the writers.

Forbidden Planet's sound effects came from a very new technology still very much in use today. The electric guitar.

The smeagol actor is andy serkis who also played the young smeagol in the opening scene here & the motion capture tech also used his exact facial features to render gollum/smeagol....anyway, in the last film when u googled who voiced smeagol/gollum & saw it was andy serkis, i was kind of paranoid that youd end up ruining the first scene of return of the king for yourself....im glad u didnt recognize him & u were still surprised by the reveal tho:) ...all the opening scenes for all three movies are so dam good, ha.

Frodo holds all the cards against gollum once he swore on the precious/ring....frodo could F smeagol up with the ring, if he put it on smeagol would be F'ed, hed rule over him, his mind, everything....gollum/smeagol is like a horrible, horrible , hopeless junkie, & frodo is the heroin dealer....until he figures it all out, smeagol wouldnt dare double cross frodo...& frodo was aware of all this much more than sam was.

Yeah, you gotta watch Eddie And The Cruisers 2: Eddie Lives now! It's not quite as good as the first but it's still entertaining and the soundtrack to both are AWESOME!!!! I found a copy of the soundtrack to the first on vinyl record at a thrift store for $10 and it was signed by John Cafferty (the real singer)! Then later I found the soundtrack to the sequel on vinyl at another thrift store for ten bucks! Sadly it wasn't signed, lol!

Thankyou for reacting to this. I get a bit annoyed at the lack of reactions to certain movies. Some really good ones get missed because they weren't big budget blockbusters.
