on your underpainting / sketch are you thinning the paint for mid tone shapes, thinning it less for shadow shapes, and leaving open space for potential lighter/ highlight areas ?

I'd like to thank you for showing the digital side of your process. Perhaps it's me, but I find not many artist process & technique videos will go into that portion of it, so it left me feeling inadequate. Seeing the outcome of your painting thru your processes, gave me validity. Thank you. I hope you have kept painting through the years.

As an artist, I watched through the entire three-part series thinking to myself, 'Wow, this artist is a genius.' Your whole process from start to finish is so thorough, and very inspiring to me. I'm not a beginner but this video series gave me more of a glimpse of what it's like to pursue mastery. I respect your work, process, and mind an insane amount thanks to these videos, and appreciate works like yours a whole lot.

I'm not usually one to make a lot of comments on posts as I'm quite shy and such but I just want to say your demeanor and ability to explain and teach is soooo awesome and I can say I've learned a lot already from your channel. I wish I had found you sooner. Currently I'm struggling with my paintings, so this is all really encouraging, so thank you! I was curious though is there any any any way I can learn from you more? Hello Cynthia. I feel like ,regardless of the fact that a thumbnail sketch should be quick and not as detailed, I should use some photo reference so my characters aren’t as stiff. What do you think?
