I know the Blackwoods and Brackens have hated each other for centuries but Jerrel Bracken is very smart here. He knows his house is in the same position as House Blackwood, meaning that he also doesn’t have much to offer Rhaenyra beyond a proud history, the fact that his ancestors helped Aegon during his Conquest and protection. So the fact that he’s standing off to the side instead of lining up with the other suitors means that he has already tried present his case by possibly saying the same lines as Willem Blackwood and failed at his first attempt. His real strategy is to show his sense of humor by shit talking the other suitors, especially the Blackwoods, which had Rhaenyra even saying that she could like him (not enough to actually move in with him but still very smart tho)

You see it in every interaction between these two how it hurt Vizzy T to banish Dameon, then when Daemon is in need he struggles with the decision to send aid or appear weak, then when daemon comes home and acknowledges him as King he smiles down and knows his loyal brother is just playin and just needs a hug. After seeing the trailer of S2, i'm glad the show runner is including the Blackwoods and the Brackens, they have their own feuds and the war only made it worse but i'm glad they’re in the story, i find them very funny and petty AF that even in the war they chose different sides just for the sake of fighting 😂

I think the reason she left so quickly wasn't to get away from the situation, but in the hope that if she removed herself then the men wouldn't have a reason to kill each other by trying to impress her. It didn't work, but it was a fair bet to make considering the culture of the kingdom.

These scene really captured an aspect of medieval politics that was downplayed a lot of Game of Thrones; how much of the events of court were dictated by those involved literally being children. Childish squabbles become a different animal when it involves everyone carrying a sword.
