I can only assume that Pete has roped in all his mates and family members to praise his drumming here. Plodding, unimaginative biscuit tin thumping that goes nowhere, and those identical and out of place fills that he inserts, make him sound like he's on page 2 of "Drumming For Beginners." If anyone has any doubts about why the Beatles dumped him, tune in here.

The original version of this instrumental was in Germany on the flip side of “My Bonnie” which made it there to number 5 in the charts. The single was hard to find but I eventually bought it. Those were the days, my friends….

The best ever Beatles instrumental and Pete Best played on it, not Ringo, some kinda consolation, and this live performance with Pete Best drumming is the closest thing to the authentic Beatles Hamburg era sound in this century....

I saw Pete Best as a guest on "I've got a Secret" in about early 1965. He said he had a new band called the All Stars, if I remember right. Of course, Ringo has been touring with his All-Starr band for 25+ years. Wishing Pete all the "Best".
I've seen a bunch of these videos of Pete playing, and it's interesting. You can tell that he was a good nightclub drummer. He had a strong bass and snare sound, but his playing was repetitive. He plays fast songs the same, with identical fills. Ringo was able to vary his playing throughout every Beatles record.
