Thank you for posting such an insightful and detailed comment. We agree with all that you say, and we did notice the slight left steering input just prior to the incident. It looked for all the world like he was 'testing the grip levels' which he would comfortably and ordinarily catch in good time. Our suspicion is the newly laid tarmac plus rain might well have had a significant impact on events. It will be fascinating to see what unfolds at the investigation. It has to also be noted that car and driver were very well acquainted, and the Aston a predictable car under normal circumstances. Thanks again for such an informative post. Regards.

@@HouseandCarHacks Both drivers and the team lost out because of not having teamwork. Lando could’ve closed the gap even more. Oscar could’ve been 7 or less points to leclerc. And the team could’ve been around 1 or 2 points ahead of redbull. Now Oscar is 20 points behind leclerc, lando could’ve been closer to McLarens first driver title fight in a decade, and McLaren are still 8 points behind. It was trash strategy. The move on Lando that Oscar did was great, no arguing with that, but it was terrible play for the whole team. They could’ve taken advantage of redbulls poor performance 😂 Edit: also I think lando and Oscar will be at the top and redbull will be close. However, I’ve seen stuff on redbull investigating McLarens front wing or something. Idk what will happen with that.

Yeah he was a fair way ahead by the time they reached the corner. Had Lando controlled his break and turn in, he'd still have been in second or equal first. Perfect pass by Oscar, people need to stop mollycoddling Lando.

Mmmm not quite right. Oscar has beaten Lando to the second chicane corner apex, so hed won the corner. Then Lando bounces off the inside kerb hard and loses control of the rear of his car and almost spins in the chicane THEN opens up the door wide open for Leclerc to pass him.....easily

Yep, all subjective really but an interesting debate as always with F1. Personally I think they are both great drivers but totally different in approach. Either way, McLaren have green lit F1 over the last few races, with Ferrari in the ascendency too...exciting times!

McLaren must be struggling with the fact that they now have two great drivers and the best car too! You are right, Lando is suddenly the guy under pressure.

They should’ve used teamwork to secure a 1-2. If they had done that then they would’ve secured maximum points that benefits all. However they didn’t, and if they don’t use teamwork, then Ferrari will creep up and pass them. Oscar isn’t a max Verstappen lol, he can’t carry the whole team with just his points. The guy is even behind in the championship even though you guys orgasm over just his name lmao

Oscar's 2 hoodoo drivers are Charles Leclerc (he is in a fight with for 3rd in the drivers championship) and George Russell. Whatever position Oscar is in during any race, you can be sure, Leclerc or George are up his hooter. I was so pleased he dispensed with one of them at the first chicane at Monza!!!! ...pity he couldn't do that also with his other hoodoo driver....though 2 seconds, and he would have!!!!

Lando lost that led in the first corner when he protected the inside off the racing line and losing momentum. I will say that Oscar drove like he didn't care if they crashed. Lando had to slow down to prevent from hitting him. Luckily, it only cost them the 1, 2.
