I took my nephew to see Gregg Allman a year before his death, he was with his band and they were great, the next month we went to see Dr John at the same venue in Kansas City, and he was fantastic, they were both gone within a year, I am so glad that I introduced my nephew to these great artists

I think about how he and his brother lost their father when they were young to a hitchhiker who murdered him. Then I believe Dwayne died at 23 and Gregg was only 21. So Gregg had a lot of death in his early years.
