Wheels themselves will bolt straight on they have the same stud pattern. Tyres you may want to fit smaller size tyres to match the original size because the defender has a different overall diameter. I use a lift kit on mine do they fit with the bigger tyres.

These wheels are used across the new defender range including the 110 and 130 which can have a similar kerb weight if not more than a D3 depending on the spec so I would assume they have a similar load rating to the original wheels.

Most of them are built for the looks and to be more comfortable on the road. At the end of the day though it’s a solid axle vehicle built for farm use and so requires some pretty heavy modification to be used as a replacement for a modern SUV. Still cannot get anything that looks remotely as iconic and that’s why they seem to command such a high price these days regardless of how well the modifications have been done. Just means the old rusty ones are mostly over 10 grand too 🥲

@@xenosautomotive1796 275/60. A little run at the front mud flaps but will be sticking an ARB bumper up front anyway in a few months. Wanted more sidewall. Cooper Discovery AT3 XLT. Thanks for the motivation. Steel wheels are heavy and often go out of balance. 18 inch wheel options are limited or expensive

@@xenosautomotive1796 exactly. Went with these XLT's for the aggressive pattern and 60k warranty. I tow my 2013 Boss 302 to the track and overland in it. Have a mountain snow run with a group tomorrow. Don't have any air leaks but had to calibrate my air suspension after the lift. Now no rubbing

They probably will. The fitment is the same so they will bolt straight on but it's more about the inner rubbing so you may want some lift rods to alleviate that or maybe you can go with 255/55/R20 if you can find some. I’m running 255/60R20 and they rub a little bit but it’s not too bad.

I haven't had any bearing issues yet but I’ll let you know when I do because I am running spacers now too so it's bound to happen lol. The only modifications I made to fit the wheels were cutting small parts of the inner fender off where the chunks of tread rub on full lock. I have a lift fitted too but it still doesn't stop them from grounding out when going around a tight bend a little too quick 😆

Hi! My wheels are 255/60/R20 so 20 inch rims with a total wheel diameter of 32 inches. I am running 2.5 inch lift rods from Terrafirma as well as 30mm spacers from Terrafirma too. The wheels do rub on the fenders only when full lock to the right but this has only started happening since the spacers were put on. This could be down to the difference in order to the stock wheels adding about 14mm of extra track width on top of the 30mm spacers. Hope this helps 😄

I’ve never had any issues with fog lights causing any electrical shorts or anything. Maybe check the wiring for your fog lights and the fuse box. Perhaps your battery connection or the battery itself is bad there are plenty of videos on how to test a battery on CZcams. 👍🏻

@@xenosautomotive1796 Thanks for the reply , yeah checked the battery, I've looked at the spots they have been full of condensation, and reflecter debris , going to change and check fuses 👍

@@xenosautomotive1796 just an update on landrover, took out fog lamps right side seal had gone , might have been driven through flood water in the past , all the reflecter had turned to powder and rust causing a bad earth , changed both spots no more loss of power or limp mode , seems to have cured it computer was thinking battery was at fault but that was new !

Hello thanks for commenting. My car doesn’t have a TPMS so I didn’t really need to worry about checking compatibility with that. This is a 2006 HSE European model however I believe the US models required it. If you have one I don’t think it will do any harm removing it to fit different wheels since mine seems to work fine without it. It may throw up a nuisance error code like when you blank off EGR valves but it shouldn’t put it in limp home mode.

No new mods since this one no I’m not sure if I want to do something with the exhaust next or something aesthetic. Perhaps painting the door handles and tailgate handle body colour 🤔

@@xenosautomotive1796 😂 im thinking about de colour coding. Opening my headlights up again to paint some black. been looking at law regarding the reflectors around indicators and side light, cant see anything to say i cant

@@1srowlings With the headlights painted black you want to make sure that your indicators are bright because you can’t see them very well without the chrome there. With all the bulbs you put in the headlight you basically want to make sure that light is projected out the top of the bulb mostly because shooting light out of the sides won’t do much when the reflector parts are painted black. I have heard that you can get pretty good power gains out of remapping but to be honest I don’t think mine is ready for it yet. Engine is fine but I have stupid electrical gremlins that play up when under power especially on the motorway. I get transmission faults all the time and I can’t seem to find the cause…

Definitely something I’ll never change! I feel like Discovery 3s have their own unique look when compared with a face lifted Discovery 4 and I appreciate that they have a lot of design differences 👍🏻

@@AlpinestarsR6 You’ll need a lift kit for them so that the tyres don’t rub if you’re on air suspension. I’m not sure if they will rub on coil springs but you can buy lift rods for the air suspension and they are relatively inexpensive and adjustable. 👍🏻

You're right the taillights and grill are from a Discovery 4. You can usually tell the difference between them from the different bumpers and D4s usually have body-coloured trim on the bumpers, skirts and wheel arches.

I made them myself! I painted the insides and fitted LED halos in them

@@AlpinestarsR6 I bought them from eBay they are just basic 12v led halo rings. If you’re looking for some they need to be between 11 and 12 cm in diameter. The insides are painted satin black but be aware that this decreases the visibility of your high beams and indicators. The halos are also wired up to the side lights with an extra fuse for the specific amperage of the halos themselves since the factory fuse probably won’t cover them.

I have no idea lol I seem to have sunk a lot of time and money into it so far but not enough to make me want to get rid of it. Kind of wanna have the coolest discovery 3 on the road so probably not 🤣

Yeah the fuel prices suck right now and I'm over here at college in the UK and most of my friend's economy cars get more than double my MPG! 🥲 Knew what I was getting into with this behemoth though and it's anything but a daily driver LOL

Running standard road pressure so about 32 - 35 PSI all around. I understand you can air down to about 20 PSI for off-road but I don’t have a compressor.

These are 20 inch alloys from the new Defender

Well, I removed the lenses by using heat either from a heat gun to melt the glue. There are also a few screws holding the lense in too. Once the lens is removed you can then remove the screws that hold the chrome pieces that house the bulbs and then you can screw them back onto the lens without the amber bit. Then you just heat up the glue again and re-attach the lens with some clamps or by wrapping tape around it to make sure it seats properly. Replace the screws for the lens and you're good to go!

@@The2fast4youbitch No need to replace them although you might want to get some new bulbs as the ones already in there might not flash amber with the part removed
