You made this look really clear and easy, and I love your filming style! I especially love the diagram for the pattern draft that you animated for us, thank you 💛
Excellent work amazing job
This is gorgeous! Also thank you for this video! My family is from Austria and Germany, and I’ve been wanting to make a dirndl as a way to be closer to my culture, and now I have a better idea on how to do that :)
Hello, lovely crowns! I for sure will take inspiration from it! I will try with the lights, because you also have them with small batteries, did you not know that? Much more comfortable and easier to hide! So maybe next time you can use those as well!
How long does making the actual cloak take with out the Embroydirey (I can't spell :'D)
Thank you for posting this video! My teenage daughter is going to camp tomorrow and they will be having a renaissance party one night and were encouraged to bring appropriate clothes. *Gulp* It isn't like you can just run out to the store and get a dress in renaissance style! Your video helped us make a dress she loves this afternoon and she is very excited about getting to wear it. It took us about 2 hours and we decided not to use the gore or the string on the sleeves because we were short on time. Your pencil drawings were really helpful, as were your description showing the measurements. We also liked your feline supervisor. Thank you again!
Nice work, beautiful cats and perfect editing!
Love your videos! It turned out very nicely. And this is random but, I love how you did your makeup!
I love the detail of the hat being knocked off. The dress (and especially the embroidery) looked fabulous.
Not a historically accurate outfit. It’s a fun fantasy outfit though, for LARPing. You definitely have good sewing skills. A bit more research and you can hit the next level with a historical version. 👍🏻
How many metres of fabric would you estimate was used?
The German version of what we in Norway call Bunad.
Very informative and accurate information, but PLEASE pronounce Dirndl correctly. It is pronounced Deern dl, not Drn dl. I love your accent and was surprised that you mispronounced Dirndl the American way. Nonetheless, I truly enjoyed this video, despite that pronunciation hiccup!
Really interesting make, but I would love to have seen the finished dress close up, without her moving about.
I really love this cloak as I am looking into making one for the winters in Scotland, and was wondering what fabric you used for this project.
I used an upholstery fabric from a discount store so I'm not a 100% sure of its fabric content 😅
@@AspiringCostumeDesigner thank you so much for the reply, im really excited to get the fabric and start sewing!
TBH, I kind of regret the fabric of choice, as it's not the most waterproof. If you can afford it I would recommend wool, medium or heavy weight. That would would last a while in the rain before soak ing through 😊
Amazing the embroidery is stunning and I love the colour!
❤❤❤
where is the pattern for this?
I mean... it's more medieval than renaissance, but its still a great dress to wear to faire!
*Promosm*
Gorgeous cinematography! I’m going to try making this dress too.
So nice! May I ask where the green dress you wear is from? Did you make it yourself too?
Thanks 😊 Yes I made that dress! It's a very simple dress with a full circle skirt from a thicker knit fabric.
i'm writing a historical enquiry essay on german fashion under nazi rule and using the dirndl as a case study so thank you!!
Without compputers and sewing machine, can i do similar? This all diy looks like Pro work
Of course! The embroidery can be done by hand, and the broche can be bought or just left out :)
Wonderful! And the reveal was stunning.
That embroidery is so stunning! Digitizing scared me haha. You are so lucky to be able to make/have such a beautiful piece. If I may ask, have you ever considered selling your patterns? No pressure, I was just curious
Yes, it's in my long term plans to clean up the patterns and put them up for sale one day! I just need to find the time 😄
I am always amazed by the things you make, and its so nice to see the thought process behind your decisions.
It is absolutely gorgeous!!!
And to think, it was four months WITH the machine doing the embroidery. Imagine how long this kind of heavily-embroidered pattern USED to take, when it had to be done by hand! Loved the project, so creative and well-done! And I especially appreciate the parts that didn't come out exactly as first envisioned (like the lining trouble) because that's just so relatable.
SO BEAUTIFUL ✨️
So many elves! I'm glad you did a different elf! So pretty!
Thank you for taking us with you. The Kaftan is absolutely stunning. The embroidery is gorgeous and I have fallen in love with the sleeves and the ties.
Thank you! It ended up being one of my favourite garments I ever designed too, even if it caused a lot of headache to make 😄
🌧I'm sorry for the lengthy reveal; I hope you still find it enjoyable! We attempted to film it three times, twice thwarted by rain and the last time by the wind, so I ended up with a lot of footage. And after all I felt like such a huge project deserved a more elaborate reveal. 🌧
I like the cinematic feel of the reveal.
Wonderful and totally wearable as a very beautiful winter coat! When I was young, I loved Romeo's doublet in Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet. If I'd had one, I'd have worn it with jeans, boots, and a linen shirt! Beautiful clothes don't have to only be for the stage or cosplay! You've reminded us of that.
Bellissimo un vero capolavoro, hai le mani d' oro complimenti la genialità 👏👏👏👏👏👏🙋🏻💐🇮🇹
Gracie 🥰

Gosh you are just *so* IMPRESSIVE. I greatly admire your courage and determination when it comes to working with new and unknown materials, and the fact that you never let your nerves stop you from bringing your creative visions to life. You are truly my favorite creator on this entire website. Thank you for being an inspiration for other makers out there, for your consistent efforts on this channel, for your high quality project craftsmanship and video editing, and for bringing beauty into this world. I have such great respect and admiration for you. Always looking forward to your next creation. Hugs from the USA. 🇺🇸
Oh wow, thank you! 🥰 I can't even express how much your words made my day. Lately CZcams has stopped showing my new videos to people and that really discouraged me from putting in all the effort of editing new ones. (The making never stops, only the editing lags behind, hahaha). But your kind words showed me that even if my videos don't do well, they are still worth it, for the people who watch it are the best 🥰🥰
Where is the link for the pattern? There's nothing there?
Sorry about that, I fixed it now.
Thanks so much 😊
What a delightful video you made, entertaining and highly knowledgeable -- and your voice is so nice!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
That is lovely.
I followed your directions and made one for myself thank you for making this video. I'm going to make a couple more in different colours. I love it so much ❤
That's amazing 👏 It makes me so happy to hear that 🥰
I'm definitely going to make this, it looks so nice. If mine turns looking nice I'll make a few to give away too. ❤
Thank you for posting this! My husband asked me to make him a Hobbit-style Dwarf costume (to match my Hobbit one) and I was intimidated by the idea of making a vest/jacket of high complexity on top of his tunic. But you have made it so very accessible by walking us through the steps, one by one. Thank you so much! 🎉
Glad I could help! Good luck with your project 🤗
❤
It looks very good, I will give it a try too!
Love the winter flower crown!!
Thank you 😊
Me too! I hope there will be a video from it!
Very nice. I really like the lace in sleeve, I might be able to make one because of this.
Yes, it saves you from having to sew the sleeves in, which is always the worst part 🤭
You made your boyfriend look so cool!
Haha, thanks! That was the plan ;)
