The Battalion needs the Main Supply Route (MSR) cleared of any enemy contacts prior to the main body moving through. Our scout detachment consisting of three M2 Bradleys and one M1 Abrams will conduct a screen along the MSR to fix and destroy any enemy blocking forces.

A great exercise to practice your take off and landing. Gives you a good sense of aircraft control. I didn't mention in the video, but go in the mission editor and create a similar mission with wind so you can see those affects as well. Thanks for watching.

As an ex warrior MICV Gunner/Commander is good to see how the Bradley was used in similar fashion , Warriors tried to high ground it to cover advances but never to take on MBTs unlike the Bradley , interesting concept having the TOWs .
I’m guessing PC means personal carrier for target ID
Makes sense that the Loader is in control of when the weapon is ready to fire. The gunner and TC kinda just sit in their positions, doing their thing, the Loader could be mucking about behind the gun, readying a shell, loading the turretmagazine or whatever, and would not really like being hit by the breech because the gunner and TC found a target to kill and he didn't get out of the way in time.

After VCEing Bradley crews for gunnery vs tankers. The tankers understand the manual and everything that is involved with the fire commands since if they get them wrong there are HUGE crew cuts. Since most of us want to get that ARCOM for top tank plus talk a little trash we pay attention. Also on ALL M1s there is an electrical trigger selector switch for the gunner to pick either main gun, trigger safe, OR COAX. So not just the loader arms the gun technically. In addition there are many elements in the fire commands. I'll have to check my notes on exactly how many there actually are.
There are nine elements in a fire command, three types of fire commands, and five categories of response terms for each in the current TC 3-20.31. Draft of the new manual is already out so that will probably change a little bit. Of course the current manual doesn’t apply to the period covered in GHPC.
@@mastergunner309 The hell they keep rewriting the TC for. No one reads it, except for the few that want to cheat. The fire commands from back then are almost the same as today. The difference between them and today is that we have MPAT and AMP for the 120. They haven't even added smoke or HEP for the 105 yet.

@@mastergunner309 I was only in from 2016 to 2023 and only on SEP V2s. So the manual only got rewritten once. I only read it so that I could understand every little detail of the fire commands to understand who can say what and when. For the context of the game it doesn't really make any difference at all. For the game I would like to fire commands to be perfect. However I understand there is a limit. Attempting to remove all of the little things that don't really matter doesn't make sense from a time/money standpoint.
I think that’s our inner VCE that winces every time we hear something wrong in a fire command. Just part of our DNA I noticed that the commander doesn’t say fire for the Bradley fire command and it burns my biscuit every time I have to squeeze a trigger without a command of execution. Lol

Hey, i like how you clearly know what you're talking about. However, i wish you could've cut the video and added your commentary after each command, it would clearly separate my attention from the gameplay and commands from your explanations. It would add a ton of production value to your video. Subject-wise, I love how realistic and authentic the voice acting is in this game.

Awesome vid. The walkthrough of how you'd do gunnery on the range was really cool as well, I'd always wondered what the deal was with those little tubes and thought they might've been for antennas or something. Now I know! Makes sense to have somewhere secure and built-in to keep the flags.
You can also change the range by holding down ctrl and using the scrollwheel. I find it easier then using page up/page down.
As a rule of thumb, would you say 1,200m is a good battle zero for the Bradley in GHPC ? Unless the target is fairly far, say 1,500m or more, I don't really see the need to adjust the range, especially since I have to think about pressing Ctrl and moving the mousewheel, maybe losing a second in the engagement process. For leading moving targets, what would be the initial aim points ? If the target is moving perpendicularly and at full speed, would the inner end of the outer stadia line work decently, and then adjust if necessary ?
1200 is a good starting point. I think your eyeballs start telling you if you need to adjust further the more you see targets. The only time I adjust for shorter range is for 7.62mm targets. Leading targets def becomes more natural the more you do it. Range, target speed, and my speed are all going to play factors in where to lead it. I just always seem to start with that outer stadia line as my point of aim and the front of the vehicle kinda bracketed in the inner set. But again, going to depend on range. The main thing is get that steady lead along his plane of movement before you fire. And when you fire, keep tracking. Dont shoot and stop, shoot and keep tracking him until he dies. I found ADA190698 on DTIC. Pp. 56-62 are the most useful, and suggest a 5-mil lead for APDS-T, which would be the outer ends of the double stadia lines, and 8.75 mils for HEI-T, i.e. the middle of the outer stadia lines. Though it's obviously a starting point, since the BMP-1 in the video required about 7 mils of lead. Interestingly, figure 15 shows the lead against a target moving at 32 km/h and at 90° requires a lead between 7 and 8 mils between 1,000 and 2,800m for APDS-T, so at least the aimpoint doesn't really change with distance.
You can check the map ingame to find out your average engagement distance in any given mission. The map is split into big 1x1 kilometer squares with a thick black outline and inside those are 100x100 meter squares. Check the map topography and before you drive over a hill that could reveal enemies behind it, check how many squares away it is and adjust your range accordingly. 1 big square + 8 small squares = 1800m away on average.
Yes, but whether you use battlesight is highly dependent on the type of round you've selected. Heat has way steeper parabola than a Sabot. Meaning, the margin for accuracy diminishes greatly as the distance increases compared with Sabot. Sabot has a much flatter trajectory, so you have a much more forgiving window if your off on the range.

The fire commands are one of those immersive things that make this game great. The only complaint I have about them is that the crew jumps straight to panic way too easily. I really doubt anyone is gonna lose their heads and start shrieking like madmen because their tank takes some 14.7mm that it's impervious to. Yeah it knocked out the main sight but that's more of a 'oh shit' moment than an 'OH MY FUCKING GOD WE'RE GONNA DIE" moment.
In the actual missions in GHPC, taking any fire gives a strong sense of "I'm going to die soon". The voices quite accurately reflect the player mental state, imho.

You say that but you dont need to actually perforate the armour to disable a tank or make the crew bail out. A platoon of BMP-2s shooting their 30s at you neither sounds awesome inside, nor does it help destressing. Also all optics gonna be fucked so your awareness gets reduced to a minimum. One off the taactics already devised in WW2 to hinder tanks aat being effective was just shooting at it with whatever you have...the bigger and higher RPM the better but it doesnnt need to actually hurt the tank. Just stress the crew enough to effectively render the tank useless. Are you panicking because a single 14.5 is shooting at you? Probably not, but 20s, 30s by 2, 3, 4 different sources? hell yeah you would. Especially inside a tank because your individual situational awareness is already really low. Hence why shooting first, doesnt matter if you perforate the armour or not (or by that extension even directly hitting them, near misses are enough), is so important. A 125mm shooting at you and a corresponding Dart just hitting you is gonna be a loud (goodbye eardrums), shaky and extremely stressing situation...and getting accurate return fire from that is most of the time nil.

@@Johnwilkinsonofficial There are two servers, one is Persian Gulf the other is Syria. Yes the enemies are AI (near peer) and are broadly speaking in the same places, but there's a lot of them.
