zhlédnutí 486Před 4 měsíci
Most people don't know there are alternatives to tile for your shower remodel. Even though I love the tile we selected for our master bathroom I wish someone had explained these three points for me to consider before I selected tile. I hope this video gives you some insight before making your selections as well. www.FiveStarBathSolutions.com/Cincinnati-oh www.FiveStarBathSolutions.com/Northern-...
Finished Basement in Hyde Park
zhlédnutí 598Před rokem
Not all finished basements have to break the bank in order to look clean and be functional. This basement remodel cost a little over $30k and included some major plumbing, building new exterior and interior walls, adding a half bathroom and laundry room, new recessed lighting, refinishing the floor with an epoxy flake system, and trimming out and painting the walls.

Installing a 22’ iBeam in Ceiling
zhlédnutí 542Před rokem
We used 15 guys to get this massive metal iBeam in place for an 8' ceiling to help support a load bearing wall for a 22' opening. I had anticipated it would be impossible to lift the beam but with enough ladders and hands it was fairly easy to get the job done. You will need to consult with a structural engineer for specific plans on how to properly support your space, but I want to show you ho...

Ideas for Framing a Pocket Door Wall for Tile Shower

The biggest concern with installing a pocket door in your shower wall is deflection. How do you keep the grout lines from cracking when you lean on the tile wall? In this video I explore an option for adding 1/2" OSB to the wall with marginal success. Watch this video before trying to tackle your own tile shower on a pocket door.

This is how we retrofitted a new energy-efficient door into a drafty old doorway. There were a couple challenges to overcome but the overall result was a much more effective and safe door that fits the space and upgrades the house's safety.
How To Loosen a Garage Spring (with no previous experience)
zhlédnutí 388Před 3 lety
The scariest part of any garage door repair or remodel is definitely taking down the garage spring. My friends were super skeptical and didn't want to try it but after watching a video where someone demonstrated what to do, I thought it would be a breeze. I was right. Taking down garage springs is super easy. Yes, there is still some risk and you should take safety precautions, but it is really...

I just turned my yellow light off because a million bugs were swarming it. Yellow lights don’t work.
Valspar isn’t supposed to be mixed with water. It’s a brush on
Wrong noozle use a turbo tip.
Awesome
Thank you! This is exactly what I've been looking for and literally the only video that comes close to explaining it, also done simply and effectively.
Dude got on white shoes? Was he just walking by and asked to help?😂😂😂😂😂
One job where you need a dust extractor attachment to a vacuum!
Too much water on your concrete! And I’m supposed to educate myself from this content!?!?
Holy Cow ... 😮
I dont like the way there is a 1'' caulk joint on the sides of the window but hey I didn't invent this product. I have to replace 7 more windows and doors on my 1976 Mobile home and Im not looking forward to it because of the aluminum siding.
I had a gutter that leaked even with calking. One can of this and no more leaks. In my case, it worked as advertised.
Bullshit, the only word that comes to mind
How come we dont have this expansion tank at home🤔
Great video sir but I wonder if installing the tank horizontally requires to support it or not. Thank you
If you had 2 Mexicans they could of done it in 1 day

I first fill some soil tamp down to avoid the heavy cement moving down, tamping it for me throughout time. It also allows not creating a cement bowl, trapping water. I use a 50lb bag of cement mix for post. I try to leave about 7 ish inches on top for soil, but before backfilling I treat it with oil. These fence are fun and easy to work with.
U could have easily used the other hole it was right there 😂
I have replacement windows in my home and there's little room for a sill or even building out with moulding. The thickness from the window edge into the room is the width of the drywall - 1/2". With this limited dimension, any suggestions for building out and installing a sill, etc. using 1x4? Thanks.
Easy on this guy, he already saw all of your comments about the flex duct. He is trying and he will learn from his mistakes just like the rest of us. Or don't tell you have not done stupid mistakes like he did on this video? Ha ha...
I just dug me a new hole a few inches down. Put the extra dirt in the old hole. Nobody knows any different?
Thank you from the other side of the planet. I was able to get a good look at the workings before I 'go in'. Hearing the little man watching on in the background, reminds me of my grandson, who for an under three year old, has the most analytical, hands on approach that I have seen in a child. Hopefully I will live to 90 to see what becomes of him, 😀 Our young ones can learn much just from being around the workers. Great clip.
You didn’t show the back bracket which is usually the one that falls
Is the vent hose only used if it's venting outside? Is it necessary otherwise?
Correct
The encounter was a victory, but I think that we've shown it as an example of what not to do
What size windows did you replace? Do you like that size for a basement?
Yellow lights have been lauded for this purpose for years if not decades. Problem is it just attracts FEWER bugs especially if there are any white/blue/ultraviolet lights within sight like at a neighbors house. But it does NOT repel or even attract zero bugs. So it’s an improvement but not a cure
Welcome to hackerville.......this install won't last a year........in a wet climate.......
Some good tips... But the person handling the camerawas JERKY and it was diostracting!
No problem using a Sharkbite fitting on a main or branch line. They are not just for temporary repairs. BUT do NOT use this video as instructions on how to install a Sharkbite fitting! You're setting yourself up for leaks in the future. Go to Sharkbites CZcams channel or whatch a video from someone who will teach you all the steps properly. This is what gives Sharkbites a bad reputation......improper installation.
Tighten the packing nut or replace the packing. Often times the packing nut will leak if it hasnt been turned off in a long time. Usually you just tighten it a quarters to half turn and ur good. Save yourself the trouble of replaceing the whole valve. Its a stop valve not a gate valve. The rubber washer can be replaced along with the bibb screw that holds it in. A valve that can be maintenanced replace the parts it will last as long as the brass will last. We live in a throw away society.
excellent camera work and close ups which coincide with your explanations. Give your cameraperson a raise and kudos for innately understanding how close a true close up should be! I can confidently send this video to a non-handy homeowner to help them understand how to fix their three pocket doors. thank you
Thank you for the video! I ended up loosening the rail from threw screws instead of removing the trim. That worked like a charm and made the job so much easier!!!!
Thanks this is helpful I’m doing a similar project.
Looks like utter dog shit with that flex pipe and outlet right in plain sight. And doesn't look well sealed at all. Good luck!
I can’t believe he stuck his arm in the form 🤦♀️ well, I was able to see his red neck 😅
Thank goodness ive found a relevant post! Im in UK and like most of you, have very old house! I have efflorescence on bedroom wall i have recently stripped, but the efflorescence is only showing around the area where the chimney was blocked up ( years ago) chimney is capped at top, so us the concrete the issue nothing major showing outside ( large stone built house) any help would be appreciated i would post photo but dont know how 😊!czcams.com/users/shortsPm1fO-lQMnQ?si=aXALAZ6bqTcbona8
Cold air will come right in thru big older windows. I have huge windows and a 90 year old house. Plastic works very well. It gets way too cold here in the great plains not to utilize a simple cheap solution
Just found your channel! Appreciate this this tip, which is manageable for inexperienced DIYer like me🙏🏻😊
Many thanks! Had a different roller system but your video got me to that back roller and the reseating of disconnected roller was a breeze. Thank God for people like you that take the time to demonstrate DIY repairs. Prior to watching your video I was thinking hmmmm....do I need to cut out the drywall to fix this? Thanks again!
So you said, "one of these is steel and one of these is zinc, so use that one" but you don't tell us if that's the zinc or steel nail.
...
Shouldn’t the expansion tank be mounted vertically? Helps to prevent breakage.
Did you have a structural engineer size that beam? Seems undersized and not put together correctly. With a double or triple LVL (you used lumber), you would use structural wood screws in offset positions.
I would always recommend getting a structural engineer to sign off on a structural beam even for a DIY project
Few things here. The crack is from not being secured properly. Your fix will crack again in a few years. Also always mix the mud up, do not just open it and grab some.
Thanks for sharing! How tall is the fence post from the ground?
4’ out of the ground, 2’ buried
I think anytime you have to depend on caulk to get leak free is going to fail. The siding needs to come off, proper channel and tape installed, then siding goes back.
Use a black light bulb because bugs are racist.
That was a horrible install man. Noone listen to this guy please
another hack job, you don't know what you are doing. Leave it to the pro's
