Grow Your Own Tea Plant | Growing a Container Tea Garden
My herbal tea garden wouldn't be complete without the actual tea bush that black, green, oolong and white tea originates from (yes, all four come from the same plant!) If you want to grow your own tea plant too, here's how you can do it even in colder zones like mine.

Asparagus is arguably one of the most tasteless vegetables out there. If it weren't for Westerners hyping it up, the plant wouldn't have a prayer.

Nice video. I had a small cameillia sinensis but had to give it away when i moved. Had a replacement but didnt realise the nursery had basically given it root rot (pot was heavy and wet and i didnt realise it at the time i bought it). Looking for a new one, but havent seen any available lately. Do these plants suffer from too much sun sometimes? Noticed when i had my first one some of leaves would go brown if i left it in sun too long , and it was less of issue when only morning sun was used and shaded rest of the day...

For those that are just starting to do greenhouses I personally recommend using solar pass-through greenhouses and when she says location is everything she is right if you want the best way to do a greenhouse without having any delays on food throughout the year, depending on what side of the equator you are is what way you face your greenhouse for instance if you live in Canada Wisconsin, Michigan or anywhere that is northern part of the equator you find solar south, and you can heat your greenhouse without using any electricity just using the sun

I love tea. Next year I’m going to try to grow some tea herbs plants. By the way I’ve learned that you should always steep teas covered as some of the nutrients will evaporate with the steam. It should be covered to maximize the benefits

It's hard to find information on growing and harvesting your own tea. I got a tea plant as a gift and used camellia fertilizer on it, but it died right away. I've been able to grow blueberries without testing soil pH, but tea has been trickier.

I tried growing Hales Best Jumbos this year and I ended up with 2 that both weighed right at 7lbs! But I didn’t get very many other good ones because of the weird drought/monsoon patterns of the weather here. Most of them got too much water and swelled too quick and never ripened. I tend to wait on mine to turn more yellow before harvesting. It’s hard to wait, but well worth it. They should “let go” of the vine with a gentle pull when they’re ripe and ready.

I have a south facing hill about 25 x 60 that I'm thinking of putting a small orchard on in zone 7a. Is it a good idea to intersperse evergreen bushes/shrubs (something like little giant arborvitae) so that the winter landscape won't just be dormant deciduous fruit trees and bushes?
