One of our bassets came in last at a howling contest one time cuz he just wagged and tried to make friends with the judges and other dogs and didn’t make a peep. Was a good howler at home tho…loved (or hated) the theme music to Hogan’s Heroes 😂

I had one that would jump in people's cars and yelp like my hands were covered with razors when I picked her up. People would ask if she was ok and did I want to give her away. She was a Boston Terrier and that "please help me" face with big bulging eyes. BTW.. she was so spoiled!

One of my bassets used to scratch at a door when he wanted to go out. When it was raining I’d open the front door and he’d sniff the air and turn around basically saying “I’ll hold it.” Within ten minutes he’d be scratching at the back door expecting the weather to be different out the back 😂. We’d play the same game where I open it, he sniffs the air, says “nah” and turns around
