This part of my ride is called rollercoaster!!! After spending ten amazing days in Ladakh, finally we are going back and taking hell lot of awesome memories with us. In this episode, we are travelling from Leh to Manali and crossing four high mountain passes; Tanglang La, Lachung La, Baralacha La and Rohtang La. Out of these, Baralacha La is the worst pass in terms of road condition in the entire Leh to Manali highway. In this two days bike ride, our destination for day 1 was Pang, which we reached after crossing Tanglang La Pass, which is the highest pass in the Manali to Leh highway with an altitude of 17,480 ft above the sea level. Our destination for day 2 was Manali and on this day, the first pass we crossed was Lachung La which is also called as Lungalacha La. It is the last pass of Ladakh in Manali to Leh highway. After crossing Lachung La, we have entered Himachal Pradesh and then met the worst pass in terms of road condition: the mighty Baralacha La. This Baralacha la pass is a junction point as the Cross roads from Spiti, Ladakh, Zanskar and Lahaul meet at the Baralacha Pass. And this Baralacha La Pass is the highest mountain pass in the Zanskar range connecting Lahul district in Himachal Pradesh to Leh district of Ladakh. Then we crossed the largest bridge of Himachal Pradesh- Darcha Bridge and then reached Manali after crossing Rohtang La and Jispa.
These Passes as well as all other High altitude roads in Himalayas are well maintained by BRO. So Kudos to BRO!!!
