Why Are Young Catholics More Conservative? (Guest: Fr. Gabriel Mosher, OP)
Recent news stories have highlighted that young Catholics-both clergy and laity-are increasingly conservative. We'll look at the reasons behind that growing trend.
Guest:
Fr. Gabriel Mosher entered the Dominicans in 2007 and was ordained in 2015. He spent his first seven years as a priest at Holy Rosary parish in Portland, OR. He is now pastor of St. Catherine of Sienna in Salt Lake City, as well as pastor of the local Newman Center.

    Big conspiracies are not orchestrated by the minds of humans but by the spiritual powers that can totally deceive people through generations, to think conspiracies are always orchestrated by people is forgetting that the spiritual powers have capacity to enact certain things in the world. Most people are not saints neither catholics so they are not really protected to being guided by evil powers in their actions.

    It’s pretty obvious. The youth, whether this is how they’d describe it or not, are seeing the fruits of a secular world that either puts God to the side or removes him entirely. They’re seeing the societies they were born into disintegrate into the primordial sea of chaos before their very eyes. They don’t want Chaos, they want Order and Traditional Christian Dogma creates exactly that. Order is required for not just a functioning society, but it’s required for internal peace. A chaotic people build nothing and a chaotic mind never finds solace or rest. Only through faith and firm discipline can man be made into a semblance of a functioning entity.

      @@ryanscottlogan8459 Correct, surveys that were just published this year (I think even the NYT ran a story on it) indicate that > 80% of priests ordained since 2020 describe themselves as either Conservative/Orthodox or very conservative/Orthodox. The National Catholic Register reported on 7 November 2023 that those describing themselves as Liberal no longer exists as the 15% who don't say Conservative/Orthodox say Middle of the Road. These same surveys indicate that 73% of new priests ordained participate in Eucharistic Adoration and another 2/3 pray the Rosary, about half were involved in regular Biblical Catechesis before entering seminary. Slow slow process to get over the Kumbaya 70s and 80's and even 90's priests that were ordained just as Vatican II closed or just before it started.

      @@ryanscottlogan8459 Well my parish, I have to say everyone bows in the Creed when the Incarnation is pronounced, people receive the Eucharist 3 ways and the priest does not differentiate, Most in the Hand or on the Tongue but some will kneel (we don't have communion rails) and our Priest makes no issues. Also, I must say I am in late 50's and all these Churches built in the 1970's to adapt 1970's style was not good (I just remember my home growing up having panel, I wouldn't have that today at all). The idea was having modern architecture is going to evangelize modern USA culture. Nonsense, in the last 15 to 20 years, new parishes and renovations in my Diocese have been done very well, modern amenities but with sacred art back in the Churches. I really think as the Kumbaya generation continues to retire, the hippie stuff is going to go away with them. But I will still pray for those priests

    Where is a difference between being Catholic and being Conservative. Conservative is a Political Term but the Church is not a Political Organization. There are Politicians causing trouble in the Church but Catholic is not Political. There can be no compromise with Truth and politics are about compromises, lies, and deceptions. Anyone who thinks they are a conservative Catholic needs to take another look at themselves and work their way out of the politics and into the Truth.

    Great show Eric, thank you! I totally agree about the satanic presence at places like abortion clinics. I am a sidewalk counselor one day a week for a local pro life group. Some days there is a feeling of hope and most of the women driving in seem heartbroken and receptive. Other days, like this past Monday, they all seem angry and closed off. I thought about it just this Monday that it’s the evil presence there; I think some days it’s more “present “. I think literally EVERYTHING the Democratic Party puts forward for the public is strict deep state propaganda. They know from Covid that the base populace is very weak and simply wants to be told what to think, and do. Hence the Kamala show. I also think this “ending” to the Biden presidency was planned from the get go. Just my gut feeling.

    While the blasphemy against God at the Olympic opening ceremony was an atrocity, this blasphemy has been going on and continues with little to no rebuke. Consider major sports organizations weaving the objectively immoral LGBTQ ideology throughout its messaging, honoring of the drag queen “nuns”, allowing a man to propose “marriage” to another man at an event, allowing men to compete against women at college events and men, identifying as women being allowed to box against women, to name a few and, not to mention allowing women to box at all. All of these things are offenses against God because they vandalize the dignity of humanity whom God created in His image and likeness and they vandalize our human sexuality which is a gift from God. What happened at the opening ceremony is to be expected when all of these other offenses against God are tolerated.

That's just human nature since the fall, not conspiracy theory. I feel very sorry for him (although I'm super pro-life, but also an ex nursing student so his obvious handicap brings out my compassion). He's probably in a nursing home not able to ever make a sentence. His family need our prayers. The Olympic opening doesn't bring out hardly any compassion. I'm obviously not a saint yet 😢. The world is going insane because we're simply allowing it to; if evil stands unopposed then evil men will keep pushing the limits of morality and blurring the lines; turning the other cheek does NOT mean saying or doing nothing; Edmund Burke said the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing but I wonder how one can possibly be considered good when he chooses to stay quiet in the face of adversity (when freedom, morality and good itself are the under attack) ; courage makes one good, not cowardice ( ironically fortitude is the only Cardinal Virtue which also happens to be one of the 7 Gifts of the Holy Ghost; that just shows how vital it is for civilization to retain its moral fiber)

  • @josephcillojr.7035
    @josephcillojr.7035 Před 5 dny

    The world has been insane since the man we believed was pope processed a pagan idol into St. Peter’s Basilica and led prayers to it. Those who defended this action, and those who insist that this evil villain is pope, have been made mad and continue to be mad, by attempting to reconcile the cognitive dissonance of a pagan pope on the side of “he must be pope because there is no one with the authority to say he isn’t pope.” One cannot be sane and accept a pagan as pope. That impossible act of apostasy happened in October of 2019. Everything that has happened since on a spiritual level is a consequence of that insanity. If you want to go back further, you may go back to the two lightning strikes on St. Peter’s Basilica when Benedict “resigned” the papacy or more accurately, split the ministry from the munis of the papal office in a false resignation based on a heretical understanding of the papacy, believing he somehow remained a type of pope, a “pope emeritus,” something unknown of and uncontemplated until that moment. When popes act on heretical understandings, and worship pagan idols, expect insanity.
