Did they use any of the N64 multiplayer content in the Nightdive version? There is just one multiplayer mode across all games.
I loved this game
You can break 7 million by intentionally losing one round against each CPU opponent. Make sure on the round you lose to do some big combos until the health bar on the CPU character is close to empty. Use to do it in the arcades back in the 90s.
Here's a huge combo for Armadon 2.3 version. I've pulled it off on the arcade version: Jumping High Fierce + Jumping High Power + (land and do a Tiger Jump straight up) Jumping High Quick (on the way up) + Jumping High Power (on the way down) + High Quick + High Quick + High Fierce + High Power + Rushing Uppercut + High Power + Hornication Uppercut.
Thanks for dropping in! The best I could manage with that method was 6.73M @ 16. Looks like you pulled together an 11-hitter. I know you can add a second normal jump forward, but the timing was a little too specific, so if a jump cancel works midscreen reliably, that might change things for the run 🤔
@@mysterygamefightclub5835 I'm planning on getting a SuperGun in the future. I already have a 2.3 Primal Rage arcade board. When I can get it up and running I'll record a demo of the combo and see if I can crack 7 mil again. I haven't played since the 1990s so I'll have a lot of rust. I also realize I needed to mention that this 11 hitter was against a dummy opponent Sauron in the corner. I've never pulled it off against an active opponent whether they were CPU or Human. I had to check my old notebook for the details.
Sadly the GameCube Midway collection is the only way for now. Evrything else is a pain in the ass.
"Officially stopped"? Did they get sent a C&D by Warner Bros? Because that would be really stupid if true.
Details about the project are scarce, but I do know it wasn't a C&D situation. I have no clue what actually happened.
My name is resident rump...and I'm a Wire Head... This game was and still is awesome! I don't feel it got the exposure it truly deserved. The gameplay, graphics and soundtrack were on point. Decades later I still play this game. It's one of the best mech-based games I've ever played 👍🏿
Helpful! Thank you!
That's awesome! Can we get one for Armadon?
It's going to be a while, but yes!
Good stuff Tom!

If anyone is in the Chicago area(or wants to come out) the galloping ghost in Brookfield has the working primal range 2 machine
Is this coming to the Xbox??
At one point, AirMech was on Xbox360 as AirMech Arena. That has since shut down obviously, and I have not heard any console plans.
The Saturn core isn't finished yet so there can still be the odd issue. The audio could be due to the ram version that you have as you need 2.9 or above or you will have some audio issues. Glad you are enjoying it though.
I think you are a bit behind on MISTer developments .. the current Saturn core has fixed a lot of those sound issues and way more games work .. n64 has seen major improvements as well and there’s even a turbo core !! But yeah I enjoyed the video so much I subscribed ! Also nice combos in MK KI and PR
I'm not into FPGAs at all but iI really like all the fidelity that it provides.
You gotta change that .. if you at all love retro ..
Why not?
I've had my MiSTer foe about 5 months. It's the greatest retro gaming purchase I've ever made. I can't believe how good sega Saturn runs.
I've had a mister for 4 years now, the thing is amazing. There are a few things you may want to know, if you don't already. The framerate on the turok games is terrible because that's how it was on an actual N64. The core is very close to cycle accuracy now. Most emulators speed up the framerate which is great, but it's not a true 1 to 1. Also, there is a N64 turbo core you can try, seperate from the main core which lets the mister run N64 as fast as it can. This will get you some extra fps in those troublesome games.
I disagree with your PS1 CHD comment... PSX CHDs all works fine for me!!
Any tip on setup or file naming & rom placement?
The MiSTer FPGA N64 core is DONE. If it performs poorly on the N64 core, it's because it performed poorly on the original hardware.
To be technical, it's as done as Robert will ever get with it. There's still outstanding accuracy issues, but, as Robert put it, they're unresolvable. So, it's 99% there, which really is good enough in most cases for everyone.
Robert the developer has said that the core is actually running 5% to 10% faster than real hardware because of increased ram bandwidth of the DDR3. The mister FPGA discord is a great place to follow development of cores.
I think the FPS dips you're seeing are also present on a real N64.
Could be. I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. Unless you happen to have the N64 cart on hand or specific knowledge of the game, it can be tough to judge when and where slowdowns occur authentically since most 3d games ran at a max of 15fps anyway. I used to own Cosmic Carnage on 32X, and that game was a mess. It truthfully did just run like molasses.
@@mysterygamefightclub5835 Run the "turbo" version of the core to mitigate some of that slowdown.
@@mysterygamefightclub5835 oh they do... especially turok 2 and 3. they actually run worse on a real n64 if anything. n64s turbo core fixes those issues mostly
Too bad you dont explain what the mister fpga does - hard to jump in for people like me who get this video recommended and lack overall context. No big deal as its easy to google, but thought I would share my 2 cents. Thanks for the video!
Appreciate the feedback, and thanks for dropping in! I figured what Mister is and does deserves a dedicated explainer, and I can transparently admit I am not the one to do it. All the best!
the n64 core is still less than 2 years in development. That being said , it is far surpassing many expectations
It's over. No further updates. Read Robert Peip's info on it.
@@NinjaRunningWild true but he can't help himself, he keeps updating it with quality of life improvements. It won't ever run the 6 or 7 games with known issues properly though so that side of things wont be fixed (at least not on the de10nano platform).
I don't have a Mister, i don't even have a Mistress :/ :(
keep on looking there is one out there fer ya ;)
@@deathbob091 Ohhh, thanks my man, i mean i wanted to get one but, the prices and availability for this device is, well, i think i'd have more chance finding a proper Mistress than this one :)
The MiSTer is so cool. I was surprised by how well it tackled the troublesome consoles. Great vid Tom!
Want to play now...
Can you show us how to Diablo?
Would love to! I like Diablo a lot, actually. Loads of fun and can do some absolutely bonkers stuff. Like 15 hits without jumping bonkers.
@mysterygamefightclub5835 thats insane!!

This just brings back memories of you stomping me at this back in the day.
Simpler times, man. Icee pops, The Real Ghostbusters Cartoon, and Sega Genesis while sitting on the floor. Thanks for hanging with me.
awesome combos bro
Sweet pcb action. I almost always play the 3D0 version.
I don't think I've tried the 3DO version, yet. Might check it out 😊
@@mysterygamefightclub5835 it plays and looks fine enough for those who are pcb-less.
nice to see my favorite retro fighting game getting some new love. 🙂
Gonna need to put some tension on that😅
Yup np! I was there on night 2!
Holy shit you finally did it!?
By the time I got this done, the run was so optimized that it literally came down to RNG. Some patterns you can do nothing about, but pray.
01:34 Doom 64 is the official sequel to Doom 2
The dos version if you are using gravis ultra then the sound isn't that bad.....>Sound blaster it's bad
As it happens, I have since discovered DosBox-pure in RetroArch allows you to use SF2 soundfonts. It requires a fair bit of experimentation to find one you like, but Awe32 is "good enough", and some others have interesting effects.
no damaging a fighting game all the way is pretty rare, your one of the few with a real run, a lot are faked on here. gg
Hell yeah! We're back with some Frontiers!! I have never had an intention to play this game so I've lived it all vicariously through these vods and I've had a blast. GG's :)
Without knowing all that's this game seems to be another average one. Hope someday someone from MAME dev will break that proctections.
Have this been out into the public yet? I would love to play on my PC. I'm currently using MAME but this on on video looks much better.
No, unfortunately, and it's unlikely to ever be publicly available. The beta still has issues, but it's the best effort that currently exists out in the world. All hope is not lost, though. Be sure to follow Old Man Ruckus, and let him know you love what you see. He always appreciates a kind word.
Just just to settled for the GameCube version now.

yet another sick video Tom I'd recommend adding chapters!
Hey, I'm building a Primal Rage arcade cabinet using the Saturn version. The joysticks I ordered all have square gates by default, and I was considering modding them into circle gates like the original arcade cab. Are you using a circle gate on your stick and do you think it makes a difference for special move execution?
Great question! I have used square, octagonal, and no gate (or circle). For my taste, octagonal and circle are both fine for Rage. It's what I'm used to and that might be the deciding factor for you as well. What makes a much larger difference is the lever itself: ball or bat top, resistance, and throw distance. I like heavy resistance, so Industrias Lorenzo is my go-to, as compared to many Japanese sticks that have a light touch without modding. If you prefer characters with double inputs (eg. Nearly all of Vertigo's specials double-tap a direction), then using a short-throw lever like the Seimitsu Nobi is a consideration. Otherwise, a standard throw lever is fine for everyone else. Thank you for the question!
Out of all the REZ remakes, my favorite is in VR
That seems like such a natural thing to do for Rez, like what it was meant for. Quite the far cry from its roots on Dreamcast.
