I'll be taking my v6 down to them soon, found them on an ebay advert and then came across them in the forums. Would like to set up a meet with you one day I'm a first owner a week old 😊
Very informative as always Maz 👏🏻 👍🏼
I have a 2009 XKR-S, also with the 4.2 AJ-V8. Its a guided missile with a free armchair attached, my economy hovers between 16-20 mpg in mixed driving, around 25mpg on a run
I get around 16mpg around town and 29mpg to 32mpg from my NA so much of a muchness as they say. Where mine is 'fun' yours must be mental. Love it!
@@craigodonnell6316 Motorbike fast my brother said, I would not disagree and that is in D mode..!
@@toffeepie1878 Niiice! Just followed your channel and will check out your vids. 👍
@@toffeepie1878 I see your were a Subaru guy. Lovely 3.0R. I had a Impreza Turbo in 96' and what that car could do on a track or a country road is still vivid in my memory to this day. It made me look as talented as Michael Schumacher behind the wheel. Four wheel neutral drifts at 110mph sounds insane but it felt normal. Damn, I need a track car!
@@craigodonnell6316 Best car ever, that 3.0R SpecB -- I would have not sold had I room for 3 vehicles, modern cars make me weep - The Jag XKR-S is insane, I will get a video up someday - limited to 200 units, luxury inside and a beast when you hold the pedal for a few seconds
I have a 2018 Jaguar F-Type. Do you know if the earlier models 2013-2015 pedal covers will fit? I'm looking at some on ebay and it's listed that it came from a 2015, but they are saying it fits my year too. Just hesitant to buy and then they don't fit. Thanks for the help.
Yes, they will since the standard pedals are the same.
Shocking maz , that voice system is a pain , like having the wife with you ,back Street driver lol. But brilliant CZcams maz thanks
All of these were stitched out of the original review, I'm sure there were more that have been cropped out
You are killing me with all those beautiful cars 😊
Thank you, it's always a pleasure to make content on them
Yes agree I have the same car but on 07 plate,it is a gt first, that's the appeal,no point in trying to catch it out it's a superb grand tourer averaging 28 around the town and 34 on a high speed run...brilliant and beautiful!
It's that dual nature that Jags have that makes them so special. I can waft around town and then enjoy the feedback on a decent B Road. Jag man for life!
Great CZcams maz , brilliant iam looking to fitting some to my xe r-sport, Lot better than mud flaps my friend.
They didn't make mud guards for the F-Type, at least this is something
As far as I’m concerned Jaguar are in a class of their own. Beautiful cars.
Pretty sure these are a 4 speed
Heard you say you currently drive jaguar ftype...me too. Getting my I4 Emira hopefully by December (in US). Will let you know how they compare!
I will stick with my 5.0 xfr, although i would love an xkr-s-gt
Thanks to @maz500 for featuring my XK, glad you enjoyed it. Maz actually taught me about a couple of features my car had that I was unaware of. This is the tenth Jaguar I’ve owned over the last 34 years, and although I’ve owned others I should have kept, it’s this X150 that will be with me to the end. Special shout out to @wraptorcustoms for maintaining (and tuning) my Jag to the highest standards, and Paul @life_on_cars for his very helpful XK videos. If you haven’t checked out their channels, you’re missing out!
Leave the auto shifter alone it’s not a manual your to heavy handed with the controls hope your not trying to teach us anything
When I reviewed the XJS, moving the selector required a lot of force, same on the F-Type relatively speaking. The only selector I've used with a lighter operation was the X100.
Loving your E-Type and XK Paul. The camera used for filming this really accentuates certain noises and when I watched this section it really sounded quite terrible. In reality, as you are no doubt aware, the action is far more ‘solid’ than the recording implies. Having said that, I believe Sir William Lyons encouraged steering your jaguar using only your forefinger and thumb, a habit I developed from my very first Jaguar, a 73’ Series 1 XJ6 4.2 SWB manual overdrive. I still drive this way today conditions allowing. Point is, there is a finesse to driving Jaguar’s in ‘the manner they are accustomed to’ which comes directly from its heritage and creator. In a world of plug and play, instant response, instant reward, discard after-five-years mentality, operating controls with subtlety may no longer be the norm. Personally ‘finessing’ my driving with minimal input, smooth actions, with a ‘slow-in fast-out’ methodology brings me much satisfaction. Whether its running to the shops or piloting down a B road, I just love it. Thanks again Maz500!
Brilliant CZcams my friend, I'd love a f-type or a xk , bur been retired, funds won't allow. I'll keep my jaguar xe r-sport,till I win the lottery?. Thanks bro
The row of 3 buttons in the roof console are for you to code to your electrically operated gates. If your car has parking sensors, the button for those is housed there too.
Thank you
Thanks Paul, I did not know that. I must actually read my owners manual at some point!
that's not an dct, it's a Aisin sourced 6 speed conventional AT
The owner told me it was like a DSG which uses 2 clutches, and for a torque converter auto it's very lurchy
@@maz500 definitely an Aisin conventional torque converter, specifically TF-60, you can definitely search that and most of the sources specified all 2nd gen use this. And mini never adapt any DCTs untill later F series. also the nippy shifting feel of this AT is mainly due to its faster shifting mechanics and computer, not the DCT's work, and a typical fast DCTs(like DQ200/250 DSGs) do have specific noise pattern when shifting, really differs the typical ATs
@@ronronchau I stand corrected
So you don't garage that masterpiece??? Crime
so you don't drive your sports car? crime
Good CZcams maz , I would not use a screwdriver though, a plastic trim tool Got to watch the alloys my friend ?.
Thank you, unfortunately I haven't come across any trim tools thin enough to fit in the gap. The ones I have are far too big to do that
No worries my friend, you did the job so you no better than me. Iam looking to replace my jaguar with the black ones, so nice to see how to do it . Thanks for a great CZcams my friend.
Great video Maz, looks the part 👌🏻💯
Thank you, this was actually thought on the spot, in case someone wants to know how
Thanks for the video Maz! I've just added the growler puddle lights to my F Type and I'm very pleased with the results 😊 wouldn't have done it without your efforts ❤
Another brilliant CZcams maz thanks
Imagine going back to drive the 2.0 litre after this. RIP. Sorry for your loss Maz lol
The exhausts aren't quieter on later models unless you mean 2019+ due to the GPF in the catalytic converters. Pre 2019 the only thing that quietens the exhaust is the software update which came out around 2018-19 and has been applied to so many cars that have gone into the dealership. People beg the dealer not to apply it but sometimes they ignore/forget. The update is to close exhaust valves pre 4000rpm, lower the fuel into the exhaust for the pops and increase the life of the catalytic converters and O2 sensors in the process. I might be driving one of these v8s on the weekend which has the GPF and likely also with the software update so I'll see how it sounds compared to the v6 I drove last year.
Yes, I mean 2018/19+, as seen on the P450 V8 75 that I reviewed. It's not unique to JLR, all other manufacturers had to quieten their exhausts too
Great vid with some historical context in the beginning.
Another brilliant CZcams maz thanks
you could of just put the key in t the back
The most likely scenario is what happened to me: Me and the wife got in the car, start the car and drive off. Arrive at shop and wife gets out of the car. I drive home then realise that I haven't had my car key in my pocket but the wife had the spare key in her bag! If I had stopped anywhere on the way home I would have been in trouble 😅
Better keep it in your pocket just in case😅
Going to remember that. Cheers
Lovely, I have a 76 Pre HE.
I live in the United States and I was going to purchase this vehicle when it is available. Two problems it's only 360 horsepower when it's capable of 550 horsepower what a shame secondly the DCT does not shift as quick as it's capable of .The AMG A45S uses the same gearbox same engine and shifts a whole lot quicker than this car what a shame deal breaker.
The 2.0 has been tuned down deliberately to prevent upstaging the V6. China gets yo have a 400ps 2.0 Emira and the aftermarket support for the engine is still very broad as there are countless 45 models with lots of mods here
I'm thinking of buying one (P300), have you had any technical problems? Or do you have to do a lot of maintenance?
From my nearly 2 years of owning, no problems besides human error and wear & tear. Maintenance I'd say is fairly normal, 1 big service every 2 years and 1 small service every other year.
I was just looking through your vids yesterday to see where someone could get these mats. Perfect. I have a white checkered flag. Not sure if white accent would be the way to go, maybe all black. Ill check the link! Thanks!
Just beautiful ❤❤❤
Where did you buy the pedal set from, Jag are out of stock and have been for over a year (I guess they will never get them back in for sale).
eBay
What a fucking shit joke
I think all svr’s are all wheel drive
I know my quesiton isn't relate to your video's topic but I have to ask. Do you know any problem about problems of 2.0 ingenium engine (for petrol version) ? Because I want buy a f type p300 but I doubt about reliability of facelift version f type. So do you have any problem about this car? or Did you hear any problem about ingenium 2.0 petrol engine? İf you have problem or heard can you clarify to me?Do you advice p300? How many kilometers does your vehicle have?
Zero problems from my experience with the P300. Somehow the petrols are immune to the diesel counterparts. I've had no issues on reliability or on running costs (excluding the usual wear & tear). If I had to mention a criticism, it'll be that the timing chain is on the inside of the engine (gearbox side) so if that requires a replacement, the both the engine and gearbox will have to come out. I advise the P300 to those who are cross shopping with the 420i, C/E300, Cayman 2.0, Alpine A110 or Audi TT. Mileage is 41k miles which is roughly 66k km
@@maz500 Thank you very much for clearly answer. As far as I know timing chain wears faster than expected on p300 engine .Do you know when timing chain will change?Which km? Which year? and I guess most smoothly version of f type is p300. You know a few car use p300 petrol engine and did you hear any problem about that?
@carlover309 as far as the petrols, there are no documented issues and/or procedures and they're about as reliable/dependable as any other engine
@@maz500 thank you very much.👍
Hold down the clutch pedal to bypass the limiter. (Apparently)
There is no clutch, it's a DCT
@@maz500ahh. The 2 litre. Hmm. Beautiful car though. I know with the manual you can bypass the limiter with the clutch pedal.

Why on earth would you do all that, I’d rather just drive it!
There's this thing called personalisation
There's also this thing called "if it ain't broke, don't fix it with cheesy parts"!
@@silentstormstudios there is also a thing called personal taste

Angry lil chicken 😂

Imagine if konigsegg had bought them what we would had seen !
Koenigsegg today would have easily had the funds to buy them but back then they were a small business
A nice car originally which has been ruined by a clown
I think the modifications are quite tasteful
As far as mods go, I'd say this is one of the more tasteful ones
I've got a 98 XK8 and 03 XKR. Leapers on both sides of the R. Also Recarro seats. My J gate is a lot smoother than the one You're reviewing. Furthermore, the sport mode is around 1/2 seconds on mine with acceleration. And just over a second on dropping down. I often use the second as a break before turning. As for the dash.. Well my job is to drive cars, and I can honestly say, buttons are far more convenient, quicker and safer than touchpad screens. The sooner they remove from cars the better.. Finally, the spitfire dash with the integral dials is far more attractive than the 150.. although the 150 is quicker due to the bigger engine. The X 100 is far more attractive. And consequently, it'll cost you more for the last year of the x100 than the first year of the 150.. the x100 prices are appreciating whereas the 150 continues to fall. Shame you didn't get out into the country to fully experience the performance.
I cannot talk about where you are based but in Britain, where the leapers would have been are replaced by the side repeaters (indicators on the side of the car), these are mandated here and in other parts of Europe. Whilst buttons may be convenient for a car from the 90s and prior, there won't be enough space for all the features of a car to be a physical button or dial, hence, screens on newer cars are here to stay excluding entry level basic cars. Unfortunately that video was done in Newport, South Wales and the only way I could experience a country road is to physically leave the area. I still prefer the later 150 due to its Ian Callum Design, making it look even more like an Aston (DB9), not saying that I don't like the 100
Nearly traded my 2007 XKR 4.2V8 coupe for a 2016 Ftype 3.0V6 coupe manual last year. Both cars were BRG and when parked next to each other I couldn't bring myself to part with the XKR. Also read a few negative reports about that manual box. I kind of wish I had taken the Ftype out a test drive to give myself a more informed viewpoint. I read less than 5% of all Ftypes were manual so a rare breed.
A manual in an F-Type sounds like a perfect match since it's a sportscar 1st and GT 2nd. But they decided to only do it for the V6, not the i4, not the V8. On the flipside, I can see these asking for major premiums 20 years down the line.
