The biggest reason he is so popular is because there are hundreds of millions of people who think exactly like him: take spiritual concepts out of traditional Indian religion(because religion is old and no one cares), mix it with a pinch of modern science and translate it to the settings of modern corporate world (this is where 99.99% of his audience works), and success is unevitable. Plus, he is considered by many many lady followers of his to be super attractive. It does not matter what school he went to, even without reaching GCSE levels people would still consider him to be an expert on corporate mindfulness. Just another example of the unpredictable nature of human behaviour, plus a lucky guy who just came across a money sneezing donkey. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When you buy anything with a credit card the credit card company knows what you bought, how much you paid, your location and, well, they know pretty much everything about you. The credit card companies then sell that private data and the customer, the one that actual purchased the item, does get even a tiny slice of the money the companies make selling your data. That is, the default position is that your data is their data and you are entitled to precisely nothing of that data's value. So, it was logical for these AI companies to buy or steal your data without telling you or compensating you -- AND, after training the AI to replicate your particular creative ability they can compete against you with your own IP. If the DOJ and SCOTUS drop the ball on this then we are screwed!

I'm willing to bet that contract had some fine print that would've screwed you over on a technicality or something. There's no way he had his lawyers write a contract that was 100% risk free to you without any benefits for him. Also, trying to get a journalist to sign a sketchy contract prior to an interview is not great optics, my guy. Either go all in with the interview or don't do it. That contract is a poor attempt at a bribe, and it's hard to see it as anything else, in my opinion.

Seeing a few other comments about this, too, but yeah, it really looks like they're trying to do what Dropout did, but with less to offer, and they're also still trying to get money from Patreon. Maybe if they had more variety in their content and offered their Patreon members access to the service through a specific Patreon tier, I could see more value in this. But it doesn't sound like they have a variety of series like Dropout does, and their Patreon members sound like they aren't getting much out of this.

This is just me speculating, but after sitting through this whole conversation, and remembering the discord message from Jesse in your main channel videos that was like "I get super defensive when I'm criticized," it almost seems like these emails are from Jesse himself. Either that or his team are all just as defensive as he is, which is not exactly the most professional ettiquite when responding to a journalist trying to get your side of the story. How's a reporter supposed to take you in good faith when you refuse to work with them in good faith? I wasn't even involved in this conversation, and it made me want to rip my hair out with how frustrating it was. Truly insufferable
