    i'm 72 and have always been a snow pusher not lifter. i push the snow into a pile and then blow it away with the snow blower to make room for the next storm.

    With this little amunt of snow, a leaf blower would work alot better than that Dozer thing, with alot less effort.

    Not sure why people are giving this crap, there's no "one solution" for snow removal, I have one of these and it works excellently for clearing a few inches of the light stuff when I don't want to break out a 2 stage snowblower. It's very compact compared to a lot of the wide blade shovels and wider than almost all of them.

    Try with wet, packed snow after the snow plough blocks your driveway with a 3 foot wall that's five feet wide. Americans... They love gadgets. Then mother nature laughs.

  • @9SecondStreetMustang
    @9SecondStreetMustang Před 2 lety

    Make a pass down the center of the driveway from the garage to the street to split the driveway in half. Then go half to the left and half to the right starting at the clean center area and you shouldn’t get any runoff on the clean side like you were here cause the passes were so long. Or maybe if the tool was made angled it would help too like the blue SnowCaster shovel that has wheels. Notice in the video when you angled the tool slightly it worked better. ;)

    This is no big deal. I'm 75 now but before I sold my house in 2016, I had a huge driveway. It could accommodate 3 cars side by side and it was 42 feet long. I'm only 5'1" and had both knees replaced. I was living alone by now too. But I bought a shovel that was light weight but extra wide. I did the same thing with that shovel. I did NOT pick up shovelfuls or my back would of broken, but relying on my upper body strength, I would anchor the shovel under my ribs, in the CENTER of my body and push the snow to where I needed to pile it and just tip the shovel over and I'd dump the snow. I used a crisscross method, not like these guys that go back to where they started from to get more snow. That's wasted walking. The idea is to push the shovelful to where you are going to dump it then pick up the next shovelful from that point and take it to the opposite way you came from to dump that shovelful. It takes THINKING to decide the route you will use to keep from wasting steps. I found this worked well in 4 inch snowfalls, but higher than this, I had to call a guy with a snow blower to clean it. Keep in mind my size and age. Guys can do better.

    • @di4085
      @di4085 Před 2 lety

      Unlock the crisscross method cuz sometimes I do do that. It makes perfect sense so you're not wasting steps.

    • @bigmacdaddy1234
      @bigmacdaddy1234 Před rokem

      The reason why you had two knees replaced is because of doing exactly what you described. No thank you.

    None of these tools are good for heavy wet snow. Light and fluffy is no problem.

    • @DanielRLuke
      @DanielRLuke Před 2 lety

      He wasn't making the case that it was. You need different snow shovels for different conditions. One snow shovel isn't ever going to be the perfect solution for every situation.

    • @bsalley76
      @bsalley76 Před 2 lety

      Yep!! A Battery Leaf Blower works wonders...

  • @ExtrovertedCenobite
    @ExtrovertedCenobite Před 3 lety

    Agree with the comment below that this works well with 2" of fluffy snow but sometimes that is all you need and it is easier to clear those 2" and then go out again in a few hours and repeat rather than have it build up. I use a leaf blower and it works great with 2" of fluffy snow but I take out the shovel or plow if it is wet, icy or very heavy snow. This is not a do it all but still not bad to add to your arsenal.

    If it's so easy why does he drop the handle down to waist height and use his body weight to move that heavy ass pile around? Also - light fluffy snow like this can be moved like that with a peice of plywood which can cost around 8$ and takes around 1/8th of the time to clear. Get a dakota shovel and make your life easier if you have this much snow.

      Sometimes it is all that is needed, other times you need a snow blower, other times you need a plow... like indoor you sometimes just need a broom instead of getting the vacuum cleaner. I just got a light snow fall last night not even an inch and did not want to burn gas with the plow and it was not enough to get the snow blower, I took my snow shovel to push the snow and dreamed of having a larger one. This might be the one for small snow falls.

      @Darrell Graves This video isn't pretending the Snowdozer is useful in all situations. Provided it is durable and holds up to regular wear, it has a few advantages over other wide blade shovels. What have you invented lately? Please be more constructive with your comments on social media. Disclaimer: I have no connection to the poster of this video. P.S No humbugging this holiday season.
