I have had a few comments about the music in my titles, so after taking some photos and videos whilst walking Mav today I decided to put them to music and use the whole track. Many thanks to Winston Ingram for kindly supplying this piece.

what length of wire and what length of counterpoise please
Hi David, the wire is 10m and the counterpoise is 5m.
Nice!! I've been using mine for better part of a year now & can't complain! I also used linseed oil in the handle.
Very Nice, Great Job, and well thought out.
Thank you, I took a while thinking it through first. It worked well in the end :)
Одличан извештај! Од вас поново добијам жељу да се бавим радио-аматерством :)
Thank you. I hope I will hear you on the air :)
I have wondered about the Opinel No18 in comparison to the Bhaco Laplander. My Laplander is of similar age to yours, and the blade is quite worn (and has been bent and straightened a couple of times). A consideration is the Opinel is around £40, which is twice the price of a new Laplander. Price of a replacement blade for the Laplander is approx £14. The blade on the Opinel is coarser, so it may favour larger cross section cuts too. I wonder if the Opinel blade is rust resistant like the Laplander? Are you thinking of getting a new blade for the Laplander? Hmmm .... decisions decisions ... Thanks for the review, maybe share a long term use opinion in the future? 🙂
you make some good grub out in the wilderness for sure!
The cooking is down to Donna. She certainly does us proud 😀
awesome camping setting!
It's absolutely stunning :)
Im going to make this!
They are really easy to make and a very useful bit of kit.
Wow, been lookin yr vids. You helping me learn how to do things properly thanks x
You are welcome. Glad you are finding them useful :)
You are welcome. I'm glad you are finding them helpful :
Pramhood carp bivvys are the best,I don't know why more people use them superfast to set up,good in the wind ,put a winterskin on,zero condensation..
a fabulous tent, we love it. As you say, wind is no issue, and it stays dry inside. You can almost stand up in it. Plus there is plenty of room for 2 people plus kit, unlike your usual 2 man tent.
Wi love ours, stays dry in wet weather, stands up to wind no problem, loads of room for 2 plus kit. Made of robust material. Only downside is the packed up size is very big.
Hi Dwayne ! 😃 Great to see you are still getting out and about in the woods 👍 Lovely location. You still driving the length and breadth of the country? Great tip with the eggs 👌 Maybe could have a walk / brew sometime, if you fancy? All the best, Austin
Yeh still driving, is that Austin H?
Perfect! That is the proper way to live life.
It certainly is :)
beautiful wildflowers and the songs of the birds too!...such a serene place to be....good medicine!
Can't beat a bit of woodland therapy :)
looks nice there but i do not trust them eggs 8:07 i have never seen red eggs :D
Those are very unusual eggs. They get softer not harder when you boil them 😅😅
Wow looks great fun !
It is really good fun :)
Is it going to be a shelf knife?
This one is yes. The others I have reviewed will all be used.
👋❤👍👍👍
Would have been an idea to do a bit of research about the place before you visited. There's so much history about the harbour and steps you could have mentioned. There's also a chippy right across the road from the harbour.
Hi, thanks for the comment. This wasn't pre planned. it was literally a last-minute, spur of the moment trip. I was near the station at Wigton and had a couple of hours to kill. Sadly, there was no time for research. That said, just turning up at a place and exploring the unknown can be just as much fun as having a pre planned itinerary.
What car mate
It is a Skoda Octavia.
Nice to have a sharing tutorial on these knives please. 😊
Hi, thanks for the comment, could you clarify I am not quite sure what you mean?
👀❤
Brilliant! Love this!
Just great!!
Great to see the trusty bushcraft gear in use 👍 can’t beat a bit of car camping, I’ve gone a bit soft in my old age and got a T5 camper (CasperVanLife) 👍
Yeh iam subbed on there that van looks cracking we considered one but couldn't justify the expense for what we need :) Had some of those bits of kit from the very early days, they are like old friends. :)
Great stuff. Thanks ! I see no CW key ;-). I'm probably going to get this case - will need a section for a LiPo battery. 73 Neil G4LRV
Which MIC LEVEL do you use?
Thr ft4x doesn't have variable mic level.
@@Bluejay1968 Thank you! That's even better. Today mine (FT-4V) will be delivered. Thanks for the beautifully filmed video review.
@pixeluser175 they are a good little radio. I get good audio reports on mine. If you want to improve the audio the speaker mic works very well.
That's a calm little documentary. Nicely done!
Great video, loved it, shared with the chap who is a local ham at a club near me who makes these and he loved it. :D I use a pole too which I think I got for 17quid from Decathalon and long wire and have been amazed at the results I got. I have the tuneable counterpoise too which seems to improve the performance further. It's a handy little tuner for sota or going for a hike where the noise is better.
For such a simple settup it works incredibly well.
That's 2.5W!
Can I ask what name is the bag and where can one purchase it? All the best
Hi, it is a cable organiser bag. Here is a link to one on amazon, but you can get them cheaper on other sites. Electronic Cable Organizer Bag Waterproof Travel Storage Bag Adjustable Divider, Shockproof Portable Large Size Double Layer Tech Bags Carrying Case for Cord, Earbuds, Charger,Tech Gifts (black) amzn.eu/d/j6gxE4q
Muy vuen aparato y con un gran audio en TX y RX😉👌. Has podido probar cuántos watios entrega en UHF?. Había leído por algún lado, que entrega 2,5w en UHF🤔.
Is that the D881 from Broadsword? For the money I’m told they’re really good.
This one is the marine band antenna. I can highly recommend it. It works very well.
I have two FT-4 radios, but I never knew about the press button 2 out of range thing! Now I know why I can't get into that gateway! Thanks.
another good one
Thank you :)
good video,,,,, terrible wind, but never mind
Thanks, yes there was a bit of a draught up there 😂
brilliant video mate, well done
Thanks Andy
Lovely spot to camp. Estate car is a wee bit small especially for 3. You could do with something a bit bigger, maybe a Mercedes Viano 😮
Hi Mickey, thanks for the comment, we have considered something bigger, but the car does for what we need. Plus its a lot cheaper to run on a daily basis than a Viano or something of a similar size.
great spot with views :D
Awesome video! Such a lovely campsite and you less in the way of gale force winds, makes me wish I wasn't so far south
Hello, very good camperization, you have given me many ideas that I had not seen before 👍💪 a question, how do I know those hinges that you have where the kitchen goes, what are they called?
Glad you found it interesting. The hinges are coffee table hinges, or lift up hinges.
@@Bluejay1968 Hello, thank you very much partner, you have given me a couple of very good ideas for my car, a 2009 Nissan Quascay that I want to camper for weekend outings 💪. I follow you from Spain
@@j.j.rcrawler8051 good luck with the build and happy camping😊
Hi Jay, i will try to copy that into my subaru outback. Thank You very much, Martin
Gradient?? Flat that!
Its gentle but it is uphill. Still too steep for some, so I try to give accurate information.
Not going to lie, I was bopping along to the intro music lol
Its definately catchy :)
The only issue you get with these fuckers is the reduced vision at junctions. Also they can start to fall out after a while, even with tape and clips.
If you do the preparation properly they should be fine. Had no issues with these and they have been on for 2 years now.
Is there a trig points on the air website or forum?
Hi, yes there is, it is part of Worked all Britain ( WAB ), there is a section on their website. wab.intermip.net/Trig%20Points%20Award.php

Great video. I have just received my Yaesu FT-4XE and hopefully will try it soon from the Great Orme in Llandudno over to the Three Rock repeater in Dublin on 0.5W.
