Hi, I am Jamie. I am a lover of Historical sewing, sometimes costumer, creator of things past and have a great appreciation for those who are proficient at sewing and learning from them, as well as helping the beginner sewers on their quest to be better at sewing.

I've seen so many deep V necks 1910's and 1920's that have a straight across neckline under it, to make it modest, I wonder if that's actually just the chemise/camisole? It seems logical
A lot of pieces have flesh colored fabric sewn in to make it look suggestive like there's nothing at all
@@thehappyflapper Either way, I think the opportunity to show an underlayer is really fun and practical for variety rather than sewn in modesty panels - Ps. Your step-in chemise video was helpful in trying to figure out my own pattern making, I can't seem to find patterns drafting guides for tap pants with that kind of crotch gusset insertion

I started collecting those as they are original of that time period and affordable, depending on the seller. Curious to know if you have visited Rudy at Hollywood Forever and if you have ever attended his memorial that has been running consecutively since 1927?

@@thehappyflapper Gosh that is a tough question as so much, luckily for us, has been done. Just throwing this out there, I"m curious to find out if there are any existing and active Valentino societies just like the ones that were formed after his death. If you find out they do exist here in the US, let me know and I'll join immediately!
@@ConnieHeartsValentino if I hear of a society I'll let you know there used to be one way back in the 90s but that one I think is defunct. Or perhaps maybe you should start one?

Looks great, and you have beautiful lashes to begin with! One of the best mascaras I had was Loreal Miss Manga Punky, it was pretty wet and clumped but in a good way😁

Lovely simple way to make a 20s hat. I’m going to try this, but will make the box deeper so there are more folds on the top of the head. I will be tucking pleats down the length of the sides by machine rather than hand basting. Lots of room for innovation. Thank you.

What percentage do you increase the printable. The way it prints they would fit a doll right now:). Just don’t know the increase I need to print at?
If you put your printer settings on poster with multiple pages...(POSTER 4 x 4) It should print for a size 12

I went to Hollywood Forever cemetery and when to his crypt when I was in my 20’s(I was into visiting cemeteries back before it was a cool thing to do)…one of the various women in black was hanging out near the crypt gave me a cookie and thought I was Italian (I’m Jewish/black) and she asked me if I was from “the old country”🤣🤣🤣 this was back in ‘86 so I don’t think it was the OG woman in black
