Desert mule deer and coyotes at the water hole
zhlédnutí 1,4KPřed 3 lety
These mule deer and coyotes are regular visitors at the water hole, but this is the first time I have seen them there at the same time.
A year in the lives of desert mule deer

Mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus) are easy to identify due to their large mule-like ears. They are brownish-gray in color, have a white rump patch and a small white tail with a black tip. The male deer grow antlers during the summer and fall and shed them each spring. The antlers split off from the main branch forming two branches, each branch has 2 or more tines. Fun fact: Mule deer have no uppe...
Snowfall at the water hole

I thought this rare and exquisite snowfall would be a good opportunity to show everyone where my my waterhole videos are coming from.
Surprise light show at the water hole

You never know what will show up on the camera, but this little holiday light show was a total surprise. Reminds me of the special effects from a 1970 something Dr. Who.
Javelina taking a bath at the water hole

Javelina love dust baths, but this one seems to love the water hole just as much!
Bobcat and mule deer at the water hole
zhlédnutí 18KPřed 6 lety
This is another video from the water hole that I have maintained in my backyard in Tucson, Arizona for almost 40 years. This one features a bobcat and a desert mule deer at the water hole at the same time. The deer just kept a couple bushes between her and the bobcat. They kept that up for at least a half an hour.

Wildlife at a Sonoran desert water hole

Here's a compilation of trail cam video from a small pond in my west side Tucson backyard. I have maintained it for over 30 years, so many generations of critters call it home. Me too. June, 2017, was the hottest ever recorded here. Bit warm. OK, Cheese and Rice it's hot!! But Sonoran Desert critters are well adapted, and there is an abundance mesquite and Palo verde beans, and saguaro fruit to...
Coyote & cactus

This coyote is dealing with a problem almost everyone in Tucson can sympathize with - cactus spines in the foot. Don't worry, it ends well.

More trail cam video from my backyard bird pond.
they're so used to look around looking for predators
That's a very important water source
I didn't have my glasses on, thought that was a jackalope at first😂
it's a water truce so neighbors have to share water
Love It! Can I ask, is the water circulating, do ad when you need to or is there a slow stream from the pipe I think I see?
Wowsa!❤
Geez that rabbit needs to pay up for drinking so much! Wascally Wabbit
thank you, wonderful 👍
My dad and brother made a pond just like yours, but our 2 acres were fenced for the chickens and horses. We lived in Mesaland off of Lacanada. Our neighbors had javalinas come in when When they flooded their citrus trees. I sure do miss home!
❤ great job Bob 👌 amen
Interesting the Javalina sniffed out where the Bobcat had been before parking itself in the water on the opposite side of the pool. Thanks for the brief trip back to the Sonoran Desert that I miss so much.
that has to feel good on a hot day. they are funny animals to watch. I miss feeding my family of them.
That quail was yelling "rabbit, rabbit rabbit". I guess so the chicks would know what it's called.
This is awesome! I’ve been thinking about putting in something like this and then found your videos. What a delight. Do you ever have issues with mosquitos?
watching this while sitting in my sleeper, about 40 Miles east of Tucson!
perhaps you would be able to make another great video, and show us how to make such a hole 🕳?
All the animals in this environment are the same colors. Lol interesting
I absolutely love that people are doing this to help wildlife who suffer bc of drought conditions. I try to do this in my yard-by leaving water out for the wildlife who travel through at night
How do you keep it full during the day when its so hot out here?
Oh the classic vertical frame...
May I respectfully disagree, I believe the tail is to long to be a Bobcat. Could be wrong.
Are there Mexican Grey wolves there?
This last year have seen the return of a quail family and a hare. So happy. The quail were everywhere when we moved to Arizona decades prior. Love their calls to each other. This drought seems unnatural. It's scary how low the lakes are now. Pray for rain for the ground water, reservoirs, and snow pack in the mountains.
Damn deer, it's just a rabbit
So thirsty!!.. What was the temperature there??... Thanks for the videos. I've never seen a bobcat before!-
the baby quail at the end is OP!
Does someone bucket water to here , or iz Artesian or haz rained recently. Iv heard itz very dry climate in Southern Arizona. All across State , Yuma to Tucson , Especially.

Bob, you have done a wonderful job with this song and video, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Anita
Big --- ......feet????
😁 They're drinking wild boar bath water.
They don't care this water means the difference between life and death to some of them
It feels good to watch them interact with each other, your right, humans should learn that.
Very nice, good of you to supply the watering hole. thanks for shring
Was that a baby Mountain Lion at 8:44?
Everything needs H2O! Great shots. What are the snouty things?
Nice Zoo you have
We all need to get laid
Rabbit to deer, “get your damn feet outta the water”.
Thank you for doing this. The time for man made intervention in climate crises among wild animals is now. I just saw a news report of a small herd of giraffes that died in the terrible drought in Kenya with no access to water, of all things, and very little food. We can no longer look at our wild neighbors with our hands behind our bank. In the face of man made climate change - it is up to us to avert these disasters whenever necessary.
If you watch for sometime it gets bored
Местные духи вас отблагодарили таким проявлением эффектов) 0:57 Странно, это в объективе камеры случилось. Но в любом случае, это красочно).
Like the big kitty, Lots of visitors at the water hole Time to refill the water hole after all that
very cool that you have created a small sanctuary for your local "friends"...thanks
God forever bless all the precious people who love animals and nature and are kind to them. Great footage.
As I watch I find myself holding my breath in order to be quite
LMAO @ "Cheese and rice it's hot!" Clever. I loved that!
So amazed at the variety of wildlife! Loved watching this!
Wish I had a backyard like yours
I love the javelina just climbing in and relaxing 😌
I notice a change to the pool, and that there is now a hose feeding it. I read in previous videos that you used to clean and refill regularly. I hope you are well, and the maintenance is still doable for you. 40 odd years must be starting to be a challenge.
