Going thru my Golf Bag at Home
Being an amateur at golf would be an overstatement for me. I have obvious limitations in rotation of the torso, explosiveness, flexibility, height, etc.
But I've spent many hours finetuning the parameters for my set-up, backswing and downswing. It is like searching for optimal settings to operate a robotic machine - the search space is multi-dimensional and expansive.
Finally, I've found workable parameters to produce a reasonably repeatable swing for the Pitch Wedge, 7 Iron, 5 Iron, 5 Wood, 3 Wood and Driver.
All this in true Make Stuff spirit - lots of trial and error, learning through CZcams, rationalising, tweaking and practising until a working method is found.

Wireless Doorbell that Plays MP3 File of Your Choice
zhlédnutí 1,4KPřed 2 lety
Here's a guide to making a wireless doorbell that plays a custom MP3 file of your choice. The doorbell uses a self-powered kinetic switch and the receiver is mains-powered, so if the Arduino Nano board is also powered via USB from the mains, then no batteries are ever required for this implementation. A Singaporean Layman's Response to Veritasium's Electricity Video

Using no more than high school Physics ('O' Levels in Singapore), I attempt to simplify and explain what Veritasium expounded on in his videos on the flow of energy due to electricity. Using only Ohm's law and Lenz's law, I show what is happening at the microscopic level when a simple light bulb circuit is closed. Moreover, I debunk the assertion that Veritasium's explanations violate the conse...
Teardown of Wireless Battery-free Doorbell (Daiyo DDB 42W) to Explore Using it as a Wireless Trigger

In this video I tear down a wireless and battery-free mains-powered doorbell, the Daiyo DDB 42W, to explore how we can use it as a remote trigger that requires no batteries. The doorbell implements a kinetic switch which generates electricity from the push of the operator's fingers to avoid the use of batteries. Warning and Spoiler! - In the teardown I found that the seemingly low-voltage low-p...
Turn Your Smartphone into a Garage Door Remote Control Today! (Using NodeMCU)

In this internet age where we make digital payments with neither a physical wallet nor thinking twice about it, do physically clunky garage door remote controllers still have a place? I certainly do not think so - and I've replaced mine with an IoT door opener fired from my smartphone. This project runs on NodeMCU and was coded using Arduino IDE. Mini Power Plugs Extension Cables

Sometimes all we need is a minimalistic power extension cable at the tiniest footprint, not clunky ones that take up space or restrict our movement in already tight spaces. More so when double-ended USB-C Power Delivery (PD) cables come in fixed lengths with no option of longer ones. Here's how you can make one minimalistic power extension cable (UK/Singapore plug) for yourself!

Awesome little project. Did you ever end up making an enclosure for this? In particular I'm curious how you would keep the high-voltage wires safely tucked away, protected from accidental tugs and stuff like that.
Very enlightening, thank you for taking the time to explain this. Got a similar doorbell myself which I'd like to play around with.
my secret lab chair has been squeaking for well over a year or two when i rotated slowly, it was driving me actually insane since it was loud as hell when barely turning. did what you did in the video where you just lubed-up the piston rod (i used normal wd-40, not the white lithium stuff) and it doesnt make a single sound now when turning... it feels like i had a brain tumor removed... thank you bro...
Cheers mate - the last bit fixed my problem! Just after Secretlabs sent me a new hydraulic to fix the issue!! 🙄
Mine doesn't squeak at all when rotating around like all these videos show how to fix. It squeaks when I rock back and forth as I am sitting in it. Sprayed the sh*t out of it with WD-40 at all the joints and near the central bottom cylinder you twist, and still no change in the rocking squeak, even temporary. Not sure this would help with my squeak.
thx for the video! that panel under the tilt mechanism was exactly what i needed to know of thx
My chair was making a creaking sound when I turned left and right. It was the third problem for me, so thank you. 9:39
I need this
OMG life saver
Thank you so much, that noise was driving me crazy.
Just don't buy the secret lab chair, this chair is pain in the ass, very noisy chair, 6 months and it will start all the symphony of CACOPHONY which will ruin your nerves.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for posting this. My chair is squeak free!
Worked like a charm. Thanks!
Thanks, wasn’t sure if I could remove the collar without destroying it and refilling it myself. I really hate this product though. It is like those old school ink cartridges - very anti-consumer and wasteful. Even the packaging for the refills is excessively large. Also the little o-ring on the pump breaks quite easily.
How do you get to that spring?
thank you, this solved the annoying squeak my chair had!
Best advice ! thx mate
I'm almost 2 years in with my chair and it had a squeak for idk how long since I always wear a headset while at my desk. I noticed it and followed these steps exactly. NO MORE SQUEAKS. W video.
Thank you so much man. You’re a like saver.
thanks , my titan xl started a little creak after 6 months from new , done this and quite as a mouse now ... thanks again ...
perfect, fixed the squeaking immediately!
Totally fixed! Thank you!
Never crimp your insulation as part of the electrical bond.
Hi there, yes as a general rule of thumb we shouldn't crimp the insulation but if we understand the rationale behind it we will know when exceptions are not only allowed but preferred. Take for example RJ45 LAN cable termination, we do exactly that - crimp the insulation, penetrate it to establish the underlying electrical bond. In my video we aren't really crimping the insulation, we are merely applying pressure onto the insulation so that the other side where the conductor is gets crimped onto the brass prong. The alternative of crimping directly onto loose strands of copper wire is inferior.
Thanks for the complete tutorial. Most videos covered the center shaft, which I did twice with no changes to the issue. But the other bolts and such that were sprayed ended up being my issue too.
Last step of spraying the piston with WD-40 sorted it for me
Thank you for making the video. Next time please consider making it 1 minute long instead of 11.
Thanks man, it works.
If anyone reads this, I tried method 1, didn't help. The popping sounds weren't coming from within method 2 after inspecting, but I found out where the issue was and it's where you insert the piston into the seat base (not the wheelbase). I put a small amount of white lithium paste and it's all great now!
Legend, thanks!
The first method fixed my squeaking! Thank you very much for the tutorial💙
When I swiveled in my Secret Lab, it used to creak. After watching the first part of this video, I was able to solve the issue. I am grateful for your post!
I also had my Secret Lab chair starting to squeak everytime I rocked it, but before I disassembled it, I raised and lowered the seat a couple of times. It stopped squeaking. It may start squeaking but for now it has been quiet.
Thank you so much, the creaking is finally gone 😃
Good video. Mine was about 3 years and it would *creeeeeeeeeak* when rotating slowly. When I got to the rubber grommet all the grease was concentrated in that one little area. There was almost nothing on the bearings or washers. I just took the grease that was there and smeared it evenly and that did it!
Thanks. My Titan Evo XL 2022 is coming up for a year old and it had two slight creaks, one when rotating, and the other was a slight thunk when tilting back and forward, like two metal surfaces were binding slightly. The second method fixed the tilt. I didn't ever realise that plastic cover was there, I thought it was a sealed metal unit. The third method did not fix the rotation creaking, so I had to go back and do the full first method and that fixed it. I would add that when you lift the wheel base off, check inside the tube that comes off with the base, as one of my washers had got stuck in the bottom. I suspect all that really needs sprayed is the plate with the balls and the one washer on each side of it. These two washers had grooves worn in them, so it should be easy to extend the life of the washers by flipping them so the remaining flat sides are touching the bearings. It should also be easy to find replacements once they completely wear out.
Thanks! My issue was actually one of the washers had such a large groove in it that when leaning back the bearings would pop out of the groove making a loud sound. Flipping the washer fixed the issue. Will look into replacing them in the future.
Why not grease the whole chair? I mean.. But alas the video really helped me a great deal, thank you.
Great video, thank you.
THANK YOU YOU SAVED ME
Just tried this. Nice silent chair! Thank you so much!
By the third attempt bro said forget about the newspapers.
Thanks for this! My titan xl was creaking after only 2 months
1st method worked for me :) though I think David Paddys idea will work best in the long run,
Great video. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
There wasn't any grease on the thrust bearing two grooves worn in the washers. there was ample clean grease on the outside of the upper bearing that I used to slather it. No more annoying noise!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH I just moved into an apartment and was scared I would get a noise complaint because of how loud my chair was. This helped so much thank you
Would dielectric grease from a tube work the same as the stuff he's using from a can?
Based on this article, www.thedrive.com/maintenance-repair/39173/dielectric-grease , no it wouldn't work well. We probably want a grease that is designed for lubrication yet clings onto metal for a long time. Dielectric grease may be sticky but not necessarily clingy onto metal, and does not lubricate well
@@wilf15592 Thanks! Does this fix void the warrenty?
this worked so well! thankyou so much for being a life saver😆
You're great
