You said it was a sought after dining experience, but I noticed all around you there were quite a few empty tables. It looked like a wonderful meal, but could it be that it's just a little bit too expensive?
Agreed! The price is high for this experience. It is not only dinner but entertainment too. We thought it would be a one time event for us. But when we sail on Icon again, we will find a way to go to the Empire Supper Club again. One way to save money on this dinner is to opt for the up charge if you purchase a Dining Package. That made it much more palatable for our pocket book. If you noticed in the video, none of the tables along the walls were occupied. Interestingly, this was the only seating we could get the entire cruise, all others were booked. We believe it was due to the longer port day as it was not our first choice of date either. Enjoyed the video... Question about the Key: For the Icon of the Seas, is it truly worth it? We set sail on the Icon in November, and although I purchased it for my Family of 3, I'm undecided on whether to keep it... We paid $734.79 for 3, but if I offset our VOOM Internet that comes with the Key ($-363.93), then we're actually paying $370.86 its remaining benefits... Was these Priority Services worth the cost?
@@Square1neBrent we have to have internet for work. When we look at the cost for high speed internet vs. the key we usually opt for the key when we don’t buy the Ultimate Dining Package. Does that make sense? The additional benefits don’t add up to much.

Yes, if the additional benefits do not appear to justify the offset cost, then I'd likely prefer to use those monies toward a 3 Night Dining Package for the Family (assuming that the Ultimate Dining Package was not worth it for the Icon, given all of the new eating venues), or even a night with my wife at the Empire Supper Club... Again, thanks
@@Square1neBrent Empire was Amazing!!!! A splurge on that experience is highly recommended. :) We did the 3 night dining package and used one night as the Empire upgrade. We spend a lot of time balancing our wants with our budget beforehand. It’s a tough decision that the pocketbook always wins!! :)

Agreed! We are picky. And we love Royal Caribbean, it was hard to find things we didn't like. Have you seen Utopia of the Seas? Seems like that ship fixes all the "misses" we have had lately. Thanks for your feedback. We are still learning what our audience likes and doesn't so we can make better content in the future.

Great video and GREAT info! I’ll be more prepared for my Barcelona trip next month. Minus the pigeon droppings of course. What about tipping and gratitude’s in Barcelona.. I heard in some places in Europe it’s actually an insult to tip.
It is an insult to tip in most of Europe. They pay the servers a higher wage in Europe and do not rely on customers to subsidize the wage like w do in the US.

You have to remember that this was one of the first sailings on Wonder of the Seas. There are a lot of quirks that needed to be worked out with the crew and food. Based on this experience, we did not book Icon of the Seas until she had been sailing with paying passengers for 5 months. It was honestly sad to have such poor reviews of a ship that is now serving amazing food!

I found your video when planning my next Cruise from Panama City to Tampa FL through the Canal. I mostly want to know how to get from the Airport to the cruise terminal for the NCL Jade. Next March 2025. Then through the Canal and on to several stops in the Caribbean like Aruba and curacao on a ten day cruise.
This is an easy answer! Uber and Lyft are very inexpensive! You can also check taxi fares when you arrive. We found most of our rides on Uber around the city were less that $5 -- we were able to tip well at that price. Expect the ride from airport to cruise terminal to be 45 minutes to an hour. You will have a blast! We loved Panama!

Expect to pay more from the airport than around town. We were really surprised at how easy Uber was in Panama City! We even took Uber from our hotel, across the isthmus to the port in Colon. That trip was $50 without a tip. We tipped that gentleman generously because Colon is a little sketchy outside of the port area.
I’m not sure what hotel I should choose as I am sailing out of Barcelona on June 1. Any recommendations
We found the chain H10 to be full of charming boutique hotels. And they are scattered throughout the city which makes choosing one a breeze!

(NOT a PAID endorsement) YOUR shoulder bag is GREAT, but we use "scottevest" as our second (maybe 3rd depending on weather) line of defence against theft; because it is always under a top layer or two. It has deep zippered, buttoned, Velcro, strapped, pockets that are dummy, exteriour, internal, hidden, including numerous and varied attachment points, but mostly purpose built for things like your phone, water bottle, tablet, etc. and you can't leave it behind if you don't take it off!!! Best of all it is clothing and NOT luggage by any airline description; like having a third carry on that does NOT count!!!
