Hi Gerrit, thank you for your feedback on this. V glad to know it was a bargain :)

Thank you so much for your positive and encouraging comment! :)
This is an amazing effect! I'm surprised it worked on plastic palettes too! Thank you for sharing❤
Thanks so much for giving positive feedback on this video! :)
My wife and I live in SFO and to get to West/Central European cities we have several options. KLM provides the best value for the buck of any of the premium economy experiences of any airline, including AF and UA. You can fly to Schiphol and then change planes very easily. For a 10 hour flight to AMS, it’s well worth the additional investment, but to get good seats you have to book early. There may be 21-30 seats in premium economy but maybe 12-16 in the outside seats. Agree that having access to an upgraded restroom would be nice but it would just cost more. And you might use the bathroom 1-2 times for the whole flight.
beautiful vlog. you have done a great job explaining this travel procedure👏keep up the good work
Well done. 👍👍👍
Thanks for this. Very helpful explanation.
Thanks for your feedback here
InterCity trains have a tricky extra fare from the airport you need to have validated if you're using an OV Chipkaart. There's tiny devices at the platform and there's no obvious signage of where you check in. You're very likely to get a fine if you don't do the second validation. A bit bonkers as they can detect automatically by the place you check in, out and the time you take. Thankfully NS were helpful but be warned!
This is only for the intercity Direct trains to Rotterdam (and Breda)! The extra fare is only for domestic Intercity Direct trains on the highspeed rail line between Schiphol airport and Rotterdam. If you don't want to pay this fare, you can take the normal intercity trains.
@@bryanaaldering Thanks! And no, I don't mind paying. I just think it's extremely confusing when you're not aware of how. Even when they keep saying on the speakers to pay for it, there's no easily identifiable information. Even when an employee "pointed" from a distance I could not see it and I had to work hard to discover later. I don't know why they don't make it more obvious as it's right at the airport.
There was no mention of the contactless payment option which is way more practical
From schiphol airport, what station should I choose taking a one way ticket to bijlmer arena? Is it Amsterdam Central? Thanks
You can go via Amsterdam Centraal, but I would use Google maps to find the fastest route as Bijlmer Arena has access to various forms of transport.
@@pocketlighthousethe hotel is close to bijlmer arena station, I can take a train going to bijlmer arena station stop, right? It says I exit the station and head towards Hoogoorddreef direction. Thanks
@@imeldayap5239 Sorry I don't know off the top of my head as I've never gone to Bijlmer Arena from the airport.
@@pocketlighthouse no worries, thanks
Thx for your detailed and precise explanation. One question, if I stay in Amsterdam city for a day only and mainly by metro, is it okay just to get a 24-hour GVB ticket? And get it from vending machine?
Thanks for your comment. Yes I don't see any issues if you're just using the metro. If you have any very specific questions about the GVB ticket, you can also reach out to GVB and they're v helpful.
Hi, what do you recommend when travelling from Rotterdam to Amsterdam? What is the cheapest option if I am visiting for four days and regular travelling between these two cities?thanks
Hi Tess, I don't know the answer off the top of my head. Best to get in touch with NS on this.
very well
thank you
We arrived via Air France at Schipol, bought two tickets at the NS yellow kiosk for one way Amsterdam Centraal. We discovered that none of the NS trains go directly from the airport to Amsterdam Centraal. We had to get off the NS Intercity at Amsterdam Zuid and change to a Metro train our ticket card didn’t work but there was a worker who told us to just get on the train, which we did. When we got to our station our card wouldn’t allow us to exit (said invalid).
Hi Cliff, gosh I'm not sure what was happening with the trains when you arrived at the airport - there are usually so many trains going to Amsterdam Centraal. If you bought a train ticket from the yellow machine, I'm afraid you can't use it for the metro too. I hope you enjoy your stay in Amsterdam nevertheless.
@@pocketlighthouse Thanks! I think we figured it out. They are doing construction on the rail line between Schipol and Centraal. It worked out ok. We had a great visit in Amsterdam. We are now up in Groningen.
@@clifffawcett that's great to hear!
Thank you, fantastic information
If you find me a 1 bedroom property in London for JUST £1050 PER MONTH, I will pay your rent for you, straight into your bank account Unless you want to live in a cupboard like Harry Potter you need to spend at least £1800
I am stayin in sloterdijk so can i buy 2day GVB pass and travel to my hotel from airport or do i need to bua separate ticket for airport transfer? And with GVB card i can also travel zaanse schan or a seperate ticket to buy for it?

Hi, I'm travelling with with 4 others. Do I need 5 individual GVB card or I can share 1 card for my family? Thanks.
Hi there, I would have a look at the GVB website as I believe there may be group ticket options.
Thank you 😊
hi, can i use i amsterdam card for intercity sprinter or trains do i need to buy amsterdam region travel ticket for that? i cant use Amsterdam region travel ticket for museums right?
Hi. The iamsterdam city card doesn't include trains, and it's the only card that I'm aware of that includes some museums (either included in the ticket price or at a discount). You can also just buy separate train tickets.
Wow. Some true art. Rare thing nowadays
super talented!

Glad you found the video good!
Just use your credit card or debit card check in and check out on the bus, this shall be cheaper.

Thanks for your regular updates. Liked and subscribed. If I were to ask for your opinion as I’m coming in June to Amsterdam for 3 days and the morning of the fourth day I have a 7 am flight. It’s just the two of us. We want to spend our time exploring Amsterdam so not keen on some over the top expensive stay. However don’t want it to be some hostel either as we would like our privacy. Where would you recommend?
Thanks for your comment. Where to stay in Amsterdam is tricky especially during the high season. I'm afraid I don't have any firm recommendations as I've never stayed in a hotel in Amsterdam before. I have heard from family and friends that WestCord Art Hotel is good. Separately I've had a tour of Bunk Hotel and they have an interesting concept of individual rooms above a sort of upmarket hostel - all based inside a former church.
I just got back from my first trip, beautiful city. BUT.......... catching a train, i asked two conductors on train "does this train go to this location?" "yes" came the reply. A few stops later things didn't seem right. So asked a passenger she said "not sure". Then both original conductors came back i asked them again, This time "No, this train does not go there, You need that platform over there" This was another lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. By sheer luck i jumped on a random train and got there! No thanks to two Dutch conductors a man and women!. And yes i was very polite so why mess about with a frail man on his own in a strange country/city. Plus another lie, there is not a tap in out system on ALL public transport! i had to jump a barrier! stick to taxis if you can afford it, my average trip 50 euros for a 20 min ride, but at least they get you there.
How much is a taxi please?
Depends on where you're going - perhaps request a quote from the taxi company.
@pocketlighthouse sorry silly not to say park centraal hotel
Only at the start of the video but can uk people just tap their app pay using there phone for the trains, trams and all these other missions of public transports you have. Literally love the way it’s done out there. I get A hand full of the same bus that smells and shakes 😂
I have seen people use their phones (OVPay), but check out the OVPay website to be sure.
where do the NS trains and red buses take you? Is there a away to figure out which color bus you are taking on google maps? For example, how do I know if the bus I take from the Centraal station to the Van Gogh museum is GVB or something else?
If you use google maps, the directions include which bus company runs it. GVB buses are white and blue, and have their branding easily visible. If you google it, you can get an idea of what the buses look like. Also I have another video regarding public transport in Amsterdam which has some bus footage too.
@@pocketlighthouse I’m on google maps and I don’t believe it tells me which bus company runs it. It only shows the color. For example, from my hotel to Van Gogh museum, it’s bus 19 and the route appears pink. How do I know bus 19 is GVB?
@@Evan-rb1oh click on the dropdown below the bus number.
Question.. we are going to be staying at Zwanenburg area.. is that considered as central amsterdam? Can we use the gvb to go there as well? Thanks a bunch! Great video btw.. 😊
Thanks for your comment. I'm not familiar with that area, but plugging it into Google it looks like your options getting into the centre would be mainly train. You could take a bus/train combo too but that bus isn't run by gvb.
Best video . Not to fast . very detailed.

Yes with the OV chip card (anonymous or personal) - you can load money on it and travel throughout the country.
