So all the things that you aspired to and believed in during your studies got hampered by profit driven market dynamics and the way out is to strip of everything architecture related and just focus on this exact part that caused the problems you are telling about...

Are you still making videos on this topic? I recently quit my job in landscape architecture. I did it for a full year and I don't think I could have kept going. I felt like it was eating away at my soul. There was no room for interpersonal relationships because of demands and pressure from billing hours. And there were so many technicalities and policies that that I felt I was drowning in and that chocked out all creativity. I just knew that I did not want to spend my whole life behind CAD in a cubicle, alone, so quiet and miserably stressed out.

95% arch firms will give you : 1-mediocre salary (You can afford to buy a home is less likely to start a family 2- ( some firms doesn’t provide benefits) 3-They want you to do free overtime (if you don’t , they will look at you as a mediocre ( because you have standards) “ We will buy you pizza but stay all night slave “😂 4- you are not the designer = this means is not your project , your creation= zero satisfaction. Having an independent life is hard, you are definitely a bigger risk taker than i am, I'm 23 and i still live with my parents and still need 2 years to finish architecture school.

I like how Bartlett have Meng that COMBINED architecture and engineering. Even though it considered a UNDERGRAD degree( since it a entry degree that is four years instead of one or two years. And it accredited by BOTH architecture and engineering accreditation bodies in UK .

I agree with a lot of these things but working in an office myself I would say it's alot harder to climb to be considered "Higher Up or Higher Esteemed" Alot just stay as architects that draft and coordinate. Idk I wouldn't consider it easy - might depend on firm and country though

Does 10nth igcse marks matter when applying to universities or are only A level marks considered?

Hi, Glory! I want to study architecture, as an international student from a West African country. I've already done one bachelor's course in a subject that's totally unrelated to architecture (agriculture), but I really, really want to do this. My concern is that I have almost no experience with anything related to architecture apart from my own fantasy drawings and interest in the subject. It seems like everything is very technical from the very beginning so I was wondering if it's possible for someone like me, with no technical knowledge, can even gain admission to a school for this course, let alone succeed in it.

I just wanted to let you know that I truly admire your courage, strength, and determination to follow your purpose. To be honest, when I first started watching this video, I was a bit skeptical because you mentioned that you quit architecture. However, as I continued to listen, I realized that I feel the same way as you do in every category you mentioned, including the corporate ladder ingrained in the architecture field. This realization initially surprised me because when I was growing up, I always believed that architecture was about freedom, flexibility, and true expressionism. Now, I see this as an opportunity. The skills we acquire and refine in architecture school are incredibly valuable and can be applied to a variety of creative industries. It is possible to innovate and break new ground with these skills, challenging traditional structures and inspiring others to do the same.
