Good stuff lads. You'd be well able for a pint after that!

Great idea! I'm forener, live in co. Donegal. I would like to try cutting torf like you guys!!!
Is this a fife, or a spindle? Come on man, at least be honest with your titles. Some of us actually want to make a fife!
it's a real fife, what don't you understand?
@@a20dmd Kind of hard to believe, since we don't see you hollowing it, or the placement of the finger holes. All we see is you turning a spindle.
@@imapseudonym1403 you didn"t watch to the end did you?😆
@@a20dmd I see finger holes, but no explanation as to how you placed them where you did. I also didn't see any indication that it's hollow at that point. And if it was hollowed, how did you do it? Is it plugged? If so, how thick is the plug and how far from the sound hole is it? There is a LOT missing from this video.
@@imapseudonym1403 The holes are measured with a ruler and the hole drilled with a drill, the end plugs centes it on the lathe. It's not rocket science. Of course the centre is bored first or else how would you centre it?
Love Ingram Brothers. Good song.
Did this as a teenager, a hot bath is highly recommended afterwards 👌
Was smoke belching motorcycles normal back then?
Yes, it's a 2 stroke engine.

The honest title would be: "Turning a wonky piece of dowel at maximum volume for 2 minutes with no explanation."
It's a factory edition ?
yes, only 1300 miles on it.
i've never heard about that ''turf'' what's means ?
it is cut and dried during summer and then burned as heating fuel in winter.
@@a20dmd thank you so much !!
My father in sligo used to cut downwards rather than horizontally interesting to see the different methods used in other parts of ireland
Yup, most people cut downward, but some "banks" of turf were easier got at like this was, a "breast" Slaen it's called.
Great video didnt even know people still cut turf with a sleán my bog and all bogs around it cut with the machine
Magic playing Nigel
Love your video dude
We do this in mayo ireland with a. david brown 995 with trailer
Great little video - Well done lads, very much enjoyed it

Что они делают, чем занимаются
Please explain the turf cutting ? Why do it. What is it
The blocks are dried during the summer and can be burned as fuel in a stove or open fire in the winter.
Nice vid.. what are you burning to heat the furnace.. waste oil or diesel..
thankyou, we use kerosene and diesel, depending on which is lying around.
Do czego to się robi?
nice vedio
Hello thanks. Great camera position I thought. Seems to follow turns well.
I'm digging on those tractors. There's nothing like an old tractor. And the idea of digging up dirt and burning it is about the coolest thing. I didn't know anything like that existed.
O vídeo ficou fantástico, parabéns a família e os meninos pela iniciativa de registrar o trabalho.
How much turf as in 50kg fert bags did they get donkeys to carry in creels or drag I wonder?
my dad who's in the video says he can remember bringing them home with a donkey and cart. I think he was quite a character (the donkey😂).
Quare bog weather this year, Thumbs up!
So this is where store bought brownies come from
