In an emergency you can use RTV to retain the push rod. But I don't blame ya for using the correct part if it's available. Good job!
Thanks man!
Wheel bearing. The mouse got in there lol
Luckily I caught it in time bearings were fine spindle nut just wasn’t tight enough
Bearings
Bearings were okay luckily just needed to tighten the spindle nut. Guess in my rush to get it ready for power tour I left it a bit too loose.
Hub bearings
Bearings were fine just needed the spindle nut tightened a bit
Deez nuts!
Wheel bearing or tie rods.
Wheel bearings were fine just backed the spindle nut off too far. Tightened it up up a bit and everything was good
@@OldPlymouthGarage Lucky the spindle didn’t break off.

Fellow Kentuckian? I see the Jim Beam
Southern Indiana but I have family who live in Louisville and Bardstown
@@OldPlymouthGarage nice I'm near Frankfort.
a disaster for my eyes, great rides
Congrats on doing the whole tour. I did the whole thing as well, but on a multi day pass.
That’s what we did last year. Long hauler was sold out before we got around to buying the tickets
When cars were real
Congratulations on completion. Now we have to start looking forward to next year
Thanks! Hopefully the Duster will be next years ride.
It was nice meeting you, hope you guys have a awsome week on the tour.
Thanks man nice meeting you as well. Have a great week!
Love the snaps!. I really appreciate the work it takes to compete in these events. Thank you for submitting this!
Thanks man I appreciate it
Start with taking everything off the car that unbolts, and do oneo f those chemical dip tank rust removal processes. Then you know what needs fixed and it is all cleaned.
This is a great channel! ...
I didn’t realize that in 1972, Plymouth still had foot operated windshield wiper fluid pumps.
I think electric was still a “option” at that point. My 73 has electric but it also has the 3 speed wiper which was an upgrade back then.
@@OldPlymouthGaragemy friend’s 70 Barracuda had the foot operated version. I thought it was weirdest thing. Trying to get ahold of my brother’s 383 74 Duster so I can it running again. Just needs a 83/4 rear end
Beautiful ride
Belongs to a friend of my sons he daily drives it and I helped him with some brake work over the weekend. Love seeing younger people enjoy these cars.
Damn that's a sharp ass car!!!!!!!
She’s a beauty 😍
I’ve been in this industry for almost 50 years, and that is what every guy says who lacks the money the time the place and the talent to do a proper restoration do you wanna make an interesting video make a video about a properly restored car not that Munga over rustbucket that you going to sell to some unsuspected person who doesn’t know any better don’t hate the opinion just think about it
First I’m not planning to sale the car and if I was everything I’m doing is out there for the world to see. If it wasn’t for guys like myself and many others who enjoy these cars enough to spend the time and the little money we do have to fix them up these cars and keep them on the street most would end up in a junk yard. You are correct I don’t have years of experience or money to pay someone to build a perfect car but that’s not what my channel is about. If doing things on a budget isn’t your thing there’s plenty of channels out there doing factory restorations.
Yeah, tell yourself whatever you need to hear. Like you some part of a big movement to keep those shit boxes rolling down the road Have fun with it wear a mask. So you can protect yourself from the rust filled air. In other ancient chemicals you could be inhaling. Enjoy.
You are wasting your time and money, the only way to cure the rust is to dip that car but if you’re gonna do it do it right if you don’t have time to do it right how are you ever gonna find time to do it over I’m sorry it’s just a fact
If I was trying to do a factory restoration I’d agree with you. But that’s not what I’m doing. The plan is to make a safe solid driver. I drive my cars they aren’t show cars.
Id had one of those wheels on a 4" air grinder cleaning up welds on the bottom of a door. Caught an edge and it exploded! Damn near cut my head off. Still have a good scare on my neck and shoulder blade! And another time one blew up and took out on of my light fixtures 😅
They can definitely be dangerous I took a hit right on the nose and in the neck when one exploded on me. Hopefully the new grinding hood helps my right eye is already jacked up from getting something in it.
Nice job, that's alot work doing that, and takes time. I have done many factory replacement rockers and cab corners
I’ve got more experience on the mechanical stuff the body stuff is all new to me I’m learning as I go but I’m enjoying it.
Your floor looks just like mine. Most of the time;)😅
A grindin and gettin it! I've spent way more of my life doing the same... gotta say, I do love it tho! Get at it buddy!
If everything goes as planned the new inner fenders should be on this weekend.
Plymouth Ruster.
lol yep that’s what I call it
That Chrysler/Plymouth inner fender design is a lot better than the 1971-72 Mustang inner fender design!!!!
I had a 1973 Duster. I bought in New Mexico. A year later I got t-boned on base! Ruined the left side of the car, but it saved my life. They're well designed/made cars!!!
Hey thanks for checking out the video! I totally agree the early 70s mopars are definitely my favorite cars.
Nice short!
Thanks man !
Don't look like you do bad with an IPhone! I've found I have way better retention (viewers watch for longer) when I used a very short intro. Good work tho buddy
Thanks man I appreciate that
Ironic timing- setting up my old Plymouth Valiant to run from Atlanta to Texarkana right now. Running the 11.75" rotor swap, pin-style calipers, Bergman steering/ suspension/pads, and using NOS Timken (USA on the box). It's a warmed-over 318, a few trick in it's powertrain (set up for daily driving & long-haul road trips)- I avoid any newer 'box parts' from overseas, never had any real issues with the car since I was given it several years ago from the original owner.
We took the scamp on hot rod power tour last year roughly 1700 miles that week with zero issues. Absolutely love these old cars
I have a couple more "Exciting" cars, but the Valiant gets the most reaction- waves, thumbs up, people wanting to talk & look at it@@OldPlymouthGarage
Dave that is a lot of work, that well be a sweet ride when done. Glad to see you again and doing so well.
Hey good to hear from you man. Hope you’re doing well.
