Hi Dennis James, I’m a big fan of your work and was wondering if you might be willing to upload a compilation of Physicians Mutual Insurance Company commercials? I would love to see the 1980s ad with the “We’re here when you need us” jingle. It’s such a catchy tune, and I still find myself humming it to this day.👍
10:04 FAMILY FEUD!!!!
The way they performed "Put Your Head on My Shoulder," it sounded just like "What a Diff'rence a Day Makes."
What year was the daytime Name that tune on with Dennis James and he said Tom Kennedy did the night time version and the announcer was the same on all the name that tune episodes
1974
@@bradjames10 Tom Kennedy did the night time version of this show?
@@genegjr In the mid-1980s, yes. It's all over CZcams if you look.
This 1980 Physicians Mutual commercial is so well designed that it’s still memorable 40 years later. It’s simple but effective, starting with two orange lines and blue and white stripes on a black background that come together to form a handshake. Then the words “We’re here when you need us” appear, followed by “Physicians Mutual.” Next, a white line turns into a caduceus, and the words “Physicians Mutual” flash on the screen again, followed by the text “Insurance Company Omaha, Nebraska.” The registered “(R)” symbol and the “TM” symbol fade in at the end. The commercial has a clear message and a positive tone, and the visuals are creative and engaging. Does anyone know who designed it?👍
5:47 that's so ironic.
A Brooklyn mobster hosted the price is right? lol….
26:39 2021? That was a good year
A trip to Haiti in the showcase??? No thanks.
I believe this is #183N
I liked tom kennedy as the host the best
When you know the identity of the first contestant it’s easy to spot all the similarities! YOU BET YOUR LIFE is still the most entertaining show ever, thanks to its star!
Johnny Olson at 9:10 summadummalummadummmayouassumingimahuman (eminem reference) 😂
One day all the episodes of Dennis James Name that Tune will be found. 😀👍
price is right on knbc does that mean kabc & kcbs
Uncle Burl's rice---"silver and gold........."
Dennis James also did radio and TV commercials for Name Brand furniture in NE Ohio.
Wow. Did they steal an audience from Let's Make a Deal?
No it’s a clip from LMAD when Dennis James substituted for Monty Hall. They showed it to demonstrate how Dennis performed on audience participation shows.
This clip from an American 60s game show titled "Beat The Odds" is from an early 1962 episode with our second host Dennis James. On this episode, Bill plays against returning 3-game champion Michelle. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
Now there's something you don't see too much of, TPIR set in the middle of making the transition from their three year old psychedelic brown set to their more common rainbow display that would remain for decades. Notice the quad brown eggcrate display monitors on contestant's row still in use as oppposed to the later-day popular rainbow colored "sportstype" display ones for example.
The models outfits are kind of nice, actually really nice.
In the first showcase, the end of the description of the trip to Quebec City shows the city hall of Montreal...
@dennisjames7576 I would like to know if you take requests of what I would like to see on your CZcams channel.
I've got to go to Sambo's. I can't pass up a $1.99 meal.
Never understood why they used family feud theme as car music. Not like match game hollywood squares theme - as thatvshow was cancelled by then
Okay? Okay! ❤
My sentiments, exactly.
I used to live in Huntington, West Virginia. Home town of Peter Marshall, Soupy Sales, and Dagmar. In 1949 Dennis James helped launch the local NBC affiliate WSAZ.
RIP!! DENNIS JAMES BOB BARKER TOM KENNEDY JOHNNY OLSON & ROD RODDY!!
Nothing against Bob Barker, but I loved it when Dennis James hosted the price is right. RIP Dennis James, Bob Barker, and Johnny Olson.
Agreed
And Tom Kennedy
I know it’s impossible for you to have all of your fathers work archived, but my wish list is to see an actual episode of PDQ. I watched that show quite a bit when I was a kid (aired when I was between 4 and 8), and I even had the home game!
Who is the guy in the leisure suit commercial right after Connie Chung? I could not hear his name.
Classic loves ad
The ymca ad
His voice is very similar to Bob Barker.
Rest in Peace, Bob Barker.
Rest in peace, Dennis James!
Worked with him often Producing our Mike Douglas Shows... a true multi-talented gentleman.
Very Kind of you,,,,
16:10 - they obviously did not restart the cue from the beginning as they should have. You actually hear it all the way to the end here.
So...in 1974, Dennis James hosted the daytime version of Ralph Edwards's "Name That Tune" on NBC, but was ineligible to host the syndicated nighttime version because James was emceeing the syndicated nighttime version of Goodson-Todman's "The Price is Right," in part because Bob Barker, host of the CBS daytime version of "The Price is Right," was also emceeing the syndicated "Truth or Consequences"--produced by Ralph Edwards.
Not sure what days Dennis filled in for Bob on daytime TPIR but he definitely hosted Christmas Day 1974, right around when this aired!
He is Amazing man
Like seeing the Variety Pack and Request Pack in those ads.
Loved the old commercials, especially the one for Sambo's. I sure miss their food.
Miss you Dennis James 😢
Dennis James did excellent on filling in for Bob.😀👍
2:18 NBC Game of the Week with Jim Simpson and Wes Parker in the booth together dates to the 1979 baseball season.
The Tappan commercial was done by Harry Spellman, who did Metro Chevy Dealer commercials in the Buffalo.NY in the 1970s into the early 1980s
The three models looks good in those bikini 👙. 😀👍
Wow, old time Connie Chung at the end of the video
Larry did excellent on cliffhanger. 😀👍
Bill did good. 😀👍
Of all the incarnations, this is the version I like the best
