I don't think you are supposed to oil the outer face of a sealed roller bearing nor the inner one for that matter... This part is not supposed to spin. If you want to oil the bearing - try injecting grease inside the bearing or just replace it.

Hi Alex. Please forgive my digging up this thread, but I happen to have exactly the same model, which unfortunately developed an electrical fault for which I have no parts list, let alone circuit diagram. I was wondering whether you might be willing to help me source a parts list or troubleshoot the fault please?

Excellent restoration! I love some of your nifty techniques: e.g. electrolysis and filing masking tape at the corners. From my limited experience, meths is better than white spirit for degreasing - it evaporates faster and probably dissolves more oil fractions - but white spirit must have worked sufficiently for that Hammerite. You are very confident with grinding - those bare hands!

Man I found a Blue Rayleigh stowaway 1975 today Saved it! I’m going to restore it if anyone has any useful tips, that’s would be helpful and maybe where to look for parts I think the seat isn’t original or could be wrong and I need the white handle grips I’ve don’t some looking and digging and ever thing else seems to be original. Thank you And great video I’ll sub, maybe share my restoration do a video. Untill then wish me luck

I just inherited one of these mines a bit newer it has 1 sticker that says made in Romania March 1991. It has a spring loaded clamp on the back that holds stuff on the back bed. also has a leather pouch under the seat. Otherwise it's the to the same bike.

I found the same model on the attic today and this video helped me a lot! Thanks
