Underestimated car. Cheap to run and fix. Reliable engine in this one, 1.6 16 valve and it is good enough. Quiet ride and superb handling.

Used to go everywhere in my Ami estate even turkey. Never worried about it breaking down ! After 150,00 miles the floor and sills went . Wished I,d looked after it now and not just regarded it as a set of car keys !

Mi papá tuvo un opel olimpia 1939 tenía 49 hp a 3900 rpm era carrera corta 1498 cm monocasco con ese auto aprendí a manejar tenia caja de cuarta y daba 120 km x. Hora luego compro una rural opel récord 1958 tenía el mismo noble motor les comento que el 1939 tenía válvulas a la cabeza y lubricacion forzada inclusive hasta los pernos de biela

Dieser Sound. Einfach klasse. Lenkradschaltung auch super. Die Handbremse hält beweglich. Einzig beim Einstieg war Vorsicht geboten, durch die Panoramscheibe, habe mir ein paarmal das Knie gestoßen. Das Ausstellfenster und auch der Tacho waren einfach super. In Rechtskurven hatte man bei schneller Fahrt schonmal Besuch vom Beifahrer. Würde auch heutzutage gerne so ein Auto besitzen. War immer mein Traum, oder einen P 2.

A wonderful car, technical very similar to the Porsche 911, and it`s a shame that VW doesn`t spend the 6 cylinder engine from the VW-Porsche 914/6 to the 411 LE in 1969 !

Love! my father had this car
Worth pointing out that this car isn't a VW411LE. The name on the back indicates that it's just a VW411 and that means that the car was supplied new without the exterior stainless steel trim that these cars are known for. Neither are there any rubber strips on the bumpers and there's three pieces of felt missing inside the front luggage compartment. The engine has twin carbs whereas a 411LE would have had fuel injection. The radio and possibly the passenger side door mirror may have been fitted from new as accessories. The single headlights aren't indicative of the trim level, that's how these cars were equipped in that model year.
The turning signal sound of the Peugeot 308 I does divide a lot of opinions. Some like it, some don't. But at least that's the feature in this car that the driver (and possibly passengers too) pay the most attention to. 😉

L'automatique
The Opel Rekord P1 was quite powerful in its day. It accelerates up to 80 km/h in second gear and to 130 km/h in third gear. If it had a four-speed gearbox it would hit 160 km/h for sure.
