The last part of your comment piqued my interest as I hadn't caught onto that trend! I do know that in certain religions, left handedness is a sign of corruption and in some societies using your left hand is taboo even to this day. I don't know of any of those connections in Japanese cultures or faiths, but I wouldn't be surprised if it played a role in those characters dexterousness!

@@RuztyNails33 I heard some part of Japan has culture of always eating with your right hand, but i'm not sure if it applies to all Japan. Yes, Left-handedness was believed to be corruption in medieval times and Latin it translates to Sinister. It also didn't help that during 19th century when there was serial killer named Jack the Ripper, who was believed to be left-handed, which led to the people theorizing that left-handed people were more likely to commit crimes and murders until that theory was proven wrong as Jack the Ripper was actually right-handed. I'm not sure if Goro Akechi's character was inspired by early beliefs of Jack the Ripper, but i wouldn't be surprised if it did.

@@RuztyNails33 I forgot to mention that i'm not saying all left-handed characters in gaming are evil as there are also good guy lefties like Link. However, it's often used trope that left handed character in the party turns out to be the villain Oddly enough in case of Final Fantasy 4 that two left handed characters(Kain and Golbez) in that game were subversion of the trope. They appear to betray the hero and become evil, but they were actually mind controlled and are actually good people in general.

I just checked Wikipedia and it's lists 7/45, so about 15%. That being said, 6 of them were post war, so following FDR 6/14 have been lefties. It's an incredibly limited sample, but it supports the theory that while we know at least 1/10 people are left handed it's probably closer to 25-35%. I'm genuinely curious how much of it was actually done. Miyamoto, Itoi and Iwata said that it was almost there but they were essentially having problems with the last mile. It was probably ieft as a buggy unstable mess

I played Earthbound, but I haven't finished beginnings. In all honestly I rarely play games on my PC so I tend to emulate less than ever these days. @@RuztyNails33 You're welcome! Yeah I hardly ever emulate games as well! Actually the one time I beat a game through emulation was actually when I played Earthbound for the first time, but that was on my modded PSP! That's a great way to play Mother 3 (fan translation) if you have one and can mod it. Though for Mother 3 I actually bought an actual GBA cat which has the fan translation rom on it, and just played that on my GBA. I also own the original game from Japan, so I already own it officially and figured that squares things up in that regard!

I used several primary sources, mostly archived interviews with the people mentioned in the video speaking about their experiences. While there is certainly a bias I don't feel ashamed of that. My information is accurate and I'm proud of my work. I will say however that I do not appreciate the belligerent nature of your comment, but the engagement is always good. So thanks, but maybe consider being less hostile in the future :)

I've never understood why we need a Mother 3 localization. If you're reading this comment, you have the means and the method to play Mother 3 in English. You've had it for a very long time now. And you will continue to have it. Mission accomplished. It's time to move on to the next thing. It's been time for a very long time now. Why can't we simply leave well enough alone and be grateful for what we have? At what point do you realize you're simply swimming upstream to achieve... what, exactly? To find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow you've had the entire time? It just doesn't make sense.

I hear ya, but I personally disagree. I'm not saying you're wrong. I think you're right, but I prefer to play games on a console because if I'm on my computer I'm working on something and I'm awful at modding hardware. Additionally I don't know that I'd call myself a fan of the series either. I played 2, enjoyed it, and I hear 3 is incredible. That's where I stand, and I'm okay with it. If Nintendo wants me to play 3, I'll gladly jump in, but I'm not going out of my way for the fan translation. That's not to speak on it's quality or anything, it's just my personal preference

Certainly, but there is a large population unable, unwilling, or unable to play the fan translation whereas if it dropped on NSO tomorrow, they'd be more likely to jump in. It wouldnt be for the hardcore fans, it would be for the casual ones.

I've already said it, but this doesn't only affect smash and even if it did, whether you approve of the community or not, people should have the right to play games that they've purchased with legal tender however they please. I played bloom at launch for 3 months, and it was incredibly bare bones imo. Bloom made me feel like I stopped progressing after 2 months and there wasn't anything left to do but grind for variants.

I probably could jump back in and enjoy it, but I just didn't feel it was worth draining my battery so harshly. If they haven't added anything more than Pikmin variants, I don't see the value in just doing expeditions and challenges. The game doesn't make me walk any more seeing as I already take about 15k steps a day and I really don't see the value in a porduct I felt it was too repetitive.
