I MADE A I BIG HOLE IN A TUBE, I CALLED A GUY TO FIX IT AND HE SAID I HAVE CUT A HOLE THROUGH THE WALL TO GET TO THE BACK SIDE OF THE TUBE, 2500$ NOW I SEEN THIS IT MAKE SENSE TO USE FOAM AS A STRING BACKING

i like your work..!! where did you get the acid. aso. did you prime the bathtub.. or after is prep. you just spray the material.

How does the finish come out? Do you have to do quite a bit of wet sanding and buffing afterwards?

The most important question is what did you use for the top coat?

How can you tell if the floor below the tub is messed up. The crack in my tub doesn’t seem to be deep yet but I’m nervous water got through. Amazing video btw

I had a guy come over and there was a major language barrier. I don't think he knew what he was doing and he was working with the company.. after it was all done and he left there was extreme bumps it was not smooth at all!! I had to call him back to fix it I don't think he was taught properly.. I think I'm going to show him this video.

As a fiberglasser the bondo I can live with but the Rust-Oleum, is a no go for me. There are many ways to apply gel coat for a very smooth finish for a simple Wet sand and polish for that professional look

Is it ok to apply thick layer of resin if there's no bondo glass?

Had few cracks on bathtub with 1 really large one, will try out the PU Foam fill the hollow space to see if it's able to sustain the weight first. Then maybe later only do something about cosmetic crack on top. Thanks for sharing this, really informative.

I just got this done on my sink about 6 months ago and a small crack about 2 inches appeared is there a way for me to patch ot before it gets worse ?

That was Rust-Oleum on fiberglass lol ..... Not professional, gel coat people. Spray, wet sand polish. No holes proper reinforcement and a high quality finish

What!!! Acrylic urethane is auto paint. 🤣 nothing special about this paint. Go down to your local auto paint supply and pick up whatever color acrylic urethane you want and a harbor freight and go to town.

What is the putty ?

Hawk is 412. They don't have a great adhesion system. They do have a wipe on primer but it's really just for repairs. The primer system flashes fast and forms sort of a fir coat when dried. It has to be sanded before applying the top coat. I switched to topkote and love it. The Crosslink III is awesome. I spray it on. But like you said, it sticks. Plus switching from crosslink to the top coat while spraying is a chore. You have to clean the gun while in the room. Topkote does sell the pps system but I don't like the added overhead of purchasing liners. I do use hawk for colors. Topkote is sort of a no go when it comes to colors. I have used the topkote adhesion promoter with the hawk top coat before and it actually looks better this way. My only concern with topkote is overspray. I spend more in masking materials because the entirety of the room and everything outside the room will get covered in overspray. However, the product is thick and holds up. I learned from George that overspray can be cleaned with Murphy oil soap and 0000 grit steel wool.

WOW!!! It looks beautiful. Seems like a very tedious job. I would definitely pay someone to do this. I need my white tub reglazed or refinished. How much would that typically cost? My tub is the same size as that one.
