I took Cassandra as a song about the Kim Kanye kardashian AND scooter stuff. The snake thing is definitely a reference to when the edited video Kim posted came out and everyone flooded Taylor’s socials with snakes. Three years later the full unedited video came out proving Taylor didn’t lie and was actually lied to and no one said anything. The religion stuff is def about scooters people and how none of them spoke out. Interesting that they all dropped him last year back to back

Cassandra is the follow-on to Mad Woman. Literally, a follow-on. Same piano feel, same structural touch, and, most importantly for the story, same theme: being gaslit and screwed over by someone you trusted. Mad Woman, she was gaslit by Scooter Braun. Cassandra is the Kardashian/West bs. The two together are possibly my two favourite songs of hers, and I've been a fan since Teardrops On My Guitar. On this one, for the story's sake, the subject and object are both important.

i actually really agree on your sentiment about copyright/song 'stealing' except i think one of the only times it's a real issue and should be addressed seriously as malicious theft is for example a larger artist purposefully taking elements or even whole tracks from a smaller artist
