Backyard SHTF Gear Conditioning - For Beginners

Here's a good way to train in your gear. Start off at a comfortable pace and build yourself up. Most importantly, pick a number as your goal and reach it, even if you have to walk.

I made a few changes, great rifle overall.
I bought everything off of amazon😅 saved me more money than buying a legit battle belt 😂 it is what it is lol
@jonathanesparza9975 if it works, it works, brother. No shame.
Man, the molle on the belt sucks
@walczyc9572 Yeah, it's kind of torn up after some use now. Me just dork larping with it lol.
@@walczyc9572 got my 40 buck out of it though
I bought the zastava metal hand guard an ended up taking mine off due to weight! It fit great looked really cool but dam was it heavy with everything. So trying to figure somthing else out.
@@TravisScott-dr8ig polymer something is probably your best bet
It works doesn't it? Its just cloth its not some sofisticated mechanical thing.
Excellent review of your belt setup. Should do more videos. #MAGA2024
@clyoul3ss819 Thanks, I will one of these days.
Remember if you wanna keep it basic basic all you need is a 40$ belt, a 30$ kydex holster, and a 15$ double mag pouch
How heavy is this? I’m only 5’8” 160 😂
@@bjf25-v8wjust under 10 lbs with sling and full mag
Dont buy the zastava handguard way to heavy… or ill sell you mine for cheap
Get ALICE. Cant go wrong.
F,,, YEAH BRO! as long as it works that's all it counts bro. 👍
For the extended hand guard can you even see the front iron sight??
@errikduvall4690 Yes, there's a slot cut down the middle of the top rail. It doesn't line up great, though. It works.
the stock folds to the right to clear the optic mount that sticks out
Sell me the long handgaurd 🤞
Interesting build! I wonder how long the mlok slots on the lower handguard are, in addition to figuring out where the first mlok slot (first slot from the front trunnion) starts and ends on the universal lower handguard. I have the Zastava underfolding stock kit mounted on my Zpap M70, and I am wondering if it's possible to mount a vertical foregrip (specifically within the folding stock buttplate when the stock is folded in (similar to your setup.)
The first slot starts 1-1/2 inches from the trunion end, and there are 3 slots for a total of 4-3/8 inches slot 1 start to slot 3 end.
First slot ends at 2-3/4 inches, I hope I was able to answer this right.
The slots are an inch and a quarter
@@johnnybobtrucker4416 This is great to know! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this, I appreciate it!!
@wingedhussar1683 No problemo
I had 2 pmags and a troy loaded years they all spread their lips like a $5 whore. Magpul warrantied theirs i just tossed the troy
Bad choice
I might actually do that 💯
Can't go wrong, man.
I own one comes in at 12 pounds.. very frontend heavy takes some getting use to.. don't recommend for causal users or beginners.. great rifle very very reliable but heavy and will cause arm/shoulder fatigue for non-advanced shooter
ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS I HAVE SEEN
Battlebelt on a budget
How’s the weight differ from when you bought it to changing the handguard
Nearly one pound off of the barrel end before the light and vertical grip.
It was a very noticeable difference when swinging and lifting the rifle to ready.
@@johnnybobtrucker4416 much appreciated on the feedback! I just bought mine today but the weight is killing me lol
@juancastillo207 This will fix that, my friend.
How does the belt do with the suspenders?
It works well and offers some support. They're surplus GI suspenders, got them from a seller on eBay. 3 pack for 20 or so.
@@johnnybobtrucker4416 thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate that, you’ve saved me some time and money
What optic on the rifle
Primary arms 5x prism
damn i didnt even think about weight for that hand guard. i personally thought it looked kinda cool being longer but i also like that cheese grater setup equally. still waiting for it to ship but super stoked.
It's a great rifle no matter what, bro. You can always change it up.
Grown men complaining about the weight of a gun
I thought the same thing until i bought it it is currently back to original that hand guard makes the gun to heavy to be fast in a gun fight. Nothing to do with being a man or not!
Nice set up man. You still happy with that Zastava lower guard? I just got an M7o and trying to decide between that, The TDI Arms one, or The Kyhber Customs Molotov.
Yeah, I'm happy with it. There's a little movement at the front retention end of it. That's all I've noticed, not a big deal.
I would love a more detailed breakdown of this.

Concealed keester bro
That’s awesome man love the set up…you don’t have to spend a fortune to have what you need for what you need it for…That’s what it’s all about. I’m sure that belt would hold up just fine if shit hit the fan.
Yessir, thanks for the comment. If it does fail me, some duct tape, a knife, and 550 cord will do the trick for repairs. Redneck gear maintenance.
@@johnnybobtrucker4416 absolutely !! I just picked up a wolf tactical battle belt for 40 bucks and I love it does the job
Nice setup 👍👍 I’m with you on that long handguard. Not a fan.
Yeah, to darn front heavy. Not worth the weight.
😂
Haha love it
New to AKs, what does the cheese grater do? What’s it’s purpose?
It's a heat gaurd that shrouds the gas tube. The upper part of the handgaurd.
Thanks for making these videos!
Thanks man, I've had so many arguments with people about this and now I can just show them your video and they can go f*k themselves.
I have a question and seen you went over it but briefly... The mounting bracket for your light, Where did you get it from and how much do they generally cost?

Just popped for some issue 6-mag bandoleers (UCP pattern)... thoughts? They have "tie down" loops on the bottom corners.
@Johnny Bob Trucker, I admire your discipline and dedication . Here, in Ozarkistan just stepping out your door is a stairmaster session for us. We've got 300' elevation change on our acreage. Ceramic or steel plates here will dehydrate and heat stroke your ass 5 m9nths a year. I'd love to discuss the difference between irregular vs conventional soldier training with you sometime. Example: I've been training myself to live and work on as few calories as possible. I've gone from a beefy 235lb down to a much leaner weight I haven't had since I was a young Light Infantry Squad Leader back in the last century. Disability precludes me from jogging but living in a remote part of the country is plenty of work with all kinds of routine chores and projects. With 5 kids are you going to be out doing grunt stuff, or watching over them? Dark days are ahead.
Family will be my priority, I'm a big fan of the warrior in the garden approach. Honestly, I'm failing at preparedness. No matter how hard I try, I can't establish the number 1 prep, community. Trustworthy, upright, preparedness minded people are hard to come by where I live. I'll probably do a video explaining my situation in this regard. Some people may find it helpful. Thanks.
@Johnny Bob Trucker. Get Magpul Gen 3 mags. Some things are worth getting the best. As most malfunctions are mag related, it's a critical item. Besides, they're usually under $20 and weigh less than NATO STANAG mags. You can buy a Brit or Kenyan vest. And wear 3A body armor underneath. Most murders in the USA are by handgun rounds. The 3A is just a couple pounds but offers far better protection than what our soldiers had in Vietnam and even Desert Storm. I never saw a SAAPI plate in my units in my almost decade career as a US Army Light Infantry Squad Leader, almost 40 yrs ago. Shoot, I feel super protected with my plate carrier and 3A inserts when I'm chasing after poachers or dealing with methead zombies here in Ozarkistan. I know from experiences: handguns, .22s and shotguns are the most common weapons they carry. In a SHTF situation, I think that will also be what's most frequently encountered. These are the most common firearms in America today.
I know I’m a random commenter. But I was wondering that since you took that stock rail it came with off if you would be interested in selling it? I think I personally would like it as long as I can still use my sling with it
Already sold it, man. Sorry. You can get one from zastavas' website. It has a slot for the sling or you could always slap something on it. Kinda pricey but here's a link. zastavaarmsusa.com/product/m70-extended-m-lok-handguards/
Why are some saying not to store loaded? Unless, They are the ones trying to break in.
Roller cam pin 📌
The XR is great with bipod and 60 mag 😂
Springs fail due to either fatigue or exceeding yield and/or ultimate stress levels under load. Since a loaded mag is not cycling, it will not fatigue the spring. If the proper mil spec spring is used, and the other magazine components meet mil-spec, the spring yield level will not be realized. Therefore the springs should last indefinitely. This test, with only 3 mags is not conclusive, empirically speaking. But engineering theory supports that a properly designed magazine should last 100's of years while loaded to full capacity, barring corrosion, with no issue due to fatigue or stress levels. Even creep. FWIW.
Nice !
Never saw a two sided. I’m a fan of bandoliers, you can grab em, share em, drop em, toss em. They have high mobility if you know what I mean.
Me too, Midway has a few decent options as well.
I love Savior shit.. Their double sbr case I think I had gotten the 34 inch, and man oh man.. It can hold 2 sbr's and 2 pistols, along with plenty of room for mags, ear pros, gloves almost anything..
I've got the same one, man. Good quality as well.
@@johnnybobtrucker4416 quality is definitely superb.. Every time I take that case to the range I'm always getting compliments on it..

Did you get any rattle with this combo
Slight up and down movement in the front end of the handgaurd. Not bad. There's a gap between it and the grater.
Might be a way to shim it. Like I said, though, it's not bad. Gotta force it to feel it.
