Fast grind motor is powerful and it grinds faster. The only con is that its a little too tall when I placed it on top of my counter. There is a timer too in that. This one has no timer and a little too small for bigger quantities.

You can easily grind 300 to 400 gm of soaked Urad dhal. I usually use 200gm of U.dhal (1 American cup) and grind 3 cups of Idli rice separately. For Vadas, I double the quantity.

Sometimes it depends on the rice too. One cannot expect the same performance as a heavy duty one. I had the Ultra Fastgrind and it was definitely grinding it fine. But that one was huge and heavy to handle for my small hands. It grinds fine when I soak the grains overnight. But a lot depends on the rice variety, if I use the local Uncle Ben's parboiled, not even the heavy duty one grinds that rice.

I usually grind 1 cup of Urad dal, but you can easily grind 2 cups or more in it. Yes, the batter should be sufficient for a family of 4 in my opinion. But not sure how big is the apetite. My family is 3 members and I use it for 2 days, but my child doesn't eat much at all.

I have Bosch 1000 Watts mixer grinder but whatever I observed since years on CZcams and in small eateries is batter made in wet grinder makes Idlis more fluffier than mixer and also get spongy texture. Planning to buy Elgi ultra. Others offering around half the price but Elgi reviews are better.

@@prashantn687 Yes, Elgi Ultra is really good. I had an old one bought it in 2001, and it was still good in 2019 till I donated. Batter is better with wet grinder and it has better nutritional value than cutting with blades.

I guess I over did with the fermentation by the time I recorded this. Maybe the variety of the cucumbers matter too, no idea. But last few times they were not dark and not so soft as I put them in the fridge after 4 days.

@@VitalFairLiving funny you just replied. hello nice to meet you. I just opened a jar I fermented 4 days ago and I did the exact same procedure that I did last month. I use little baby cornichon style pickles last time and they came out super crunchy. This time I used large waxy cucumbers so I would have long Spears they did not stay crunchy as last time. So yes and this is actually today so yes the type of cucumber definitely matters. I don't really like the brine flavor. I didn't mean to offend you but yes yours had kind of an off-color. What I do is after a few days I pour off the salty brine and add in vinegar and sugar to give it a pickle flavor but use the fermentation process. Definitely the type of pickle matters I won't use big Spears anymore.. good luck

Yes, I changed it a couple of years back as it makes more sense. Yes, Tupperware is more practical than glass because of the weight and are easy to stack. I also have arthritis.This pantry was not practical for glass because they are deep and things got lost in the back.

Yes, its ok to grind it together, the consistency may be a little different.

My daughter doesn't have flare ups since a long time, but still has spots in her scalp. Some of it I think is the products she uses despite my scrutiny. Teenager have their own ideas. I took her to an Ayurvedic doctor on my visit in India but she has not yet started the medicines. If you have an Ayurvedic doctor please take her there and get it checked. We are not completely out of it, but have learned to manage it better. Genetics in my family has a few of us with this problem. Stress aggravates the condition too.

I understand your predicament with all the unanswered questions. I have beaten small quantity of cream to peaks with it while making ice cream. I use it mainly for bread, whipped cream, butter and use some of the attachments. I am actually very satisfied with this mixer, its a work horse. Will do a full review in spring.
