DIY Watering System for Pigs: No Electricity Needed!
zhlédnutí 44Před 14 dny
In today’s video, I found an efficient way to get a lot of water to the pigs without carrying heavy buckets on this hot day. I filled up a 50-gallon drum, attached it to my lawnmower, and drove it back into the woods. Using a hose, I siphoned the water out. This no-electricity system worked really well, and I plan to use it until I can install a permanent water source out there. If you’d like a...

Keep doing your thing my brother. Before you know it you will have. A lot of subscribers
Thanks bro 🙏🫡
I never cut my hens feathers. I have a 8 foot tall fence all around my coop and they gave never flown over it. Would never do that.
That’s what we did in the beginning, but we decided to drop the fence and trim feathers. Both ways are perfectly fine.
Thats super 😎 cool
That's a good system.
When you grabbed the chicken we laughed so hard 🤣 Thank you all for the awesome content. Seeing the entire family involved was amazing too!
😂😂 yea you should see what happens off camera lol but yes we try to get them in the videos as much as we can
Great video! Love the content!
😊 thanks
I love watching y'all's videos! We are getting ready to purchase some acres and I can't wait to get into it.
Thank you 😊 congratulations! You’re going to love it!
❤
Another amazing episode I'm impressed about your knowledge of farm life keep grinding big homie
Thanks Mike 🫡
Adding shade might help, but if it is not good enough then there is another option that I came across, but it would require you to start over. Having pests is normally not good to have in a greenhouse, and garden. There are bugs that are fine to have, but many are not fine to have on plants, or anything else that grows. Your plants should have been treated, but instead are being eaten. There are ways to deal with this problem before it happens. I suggest not using dish soap. You could try mixing water with Cayenne pepper. There are other options to use as a pesticide if mixing water with Cayenne pepper does not work. I found the below information on the internet. "Almost all caterpillars feed on plants and most plant-feeding caterpillars feed on leaves, which are the most abundant and accessible part of the plant."
Thank you, we failed to mention one thing lol we did use cayenne pepper in it as well . But this was after the fact, so we’ll see. So far we haven’t seen any others 🤞 we will definitely be pro active from here on out instead of reactive.
@@Citytohomestead Did you use dish soap?
Yes, is there a certain soap you suggest?
@@Citytohomestead No, I suggest not using soap.
@@knowledgeandmultiskilled okay we will take this advice, just water and cayenne pepper?
Great video! That ending was hilarious 😂
What’s the name of the plant that you use for tea?
Lemon Balm😁 It is so good for you. Smells just like a lemon lol
@@Citytohomestead thank you! Putting it on the list now
If you have Chickens, they LOVE those tomato hornworms. You better get those things off asap cuz they will eat up your plants in one day
someone else just told us this as well, good to know! Thank you. We have taken all the worms off the plants , Hoping they stay away🤞🏻
Good day my brother. Not sure if you know but tomatoes is poison to chicken
I have heard that after giving them lots of tomatoes and nothing ever happened to them, so I just ignored it. but thanks I will keep that in mind we don't need sick chickens here .
Thanks for watching everyone , 🫡 we hit 1,600 followers which is crazy to us. Thank you all for supporting us and helping us through this journey. 🙏 I will be posting a video everyday this month. What do you guys want to see?
❤
Shade cloth will help. When instand under the shade cloth, it feels so much cooler.
Yes for sure, I stood inside and it definitely has a coolness to it.
Those plants all look pretty young! Is your lemon balm planted in a sunken container?
This was when we first transplanted them outside. They are very big now. Started from seed .
@@Citytohomestead Has the lemon balm begun to take over yet? :p
Has anyone had luck soaking tobacco leave and water in a spray bottle? I’ve come to realize “organic” just means pest deterrent and I have some very persistent pests.
Oh man, so all I have to do is grow tomatoes and the hornworms will come? My bearded dragon would love me more!
😂😂😂
All u got to do is put a stick against the stalk they circle the base of the plant before the eat it when they find the dead stick they move on and won't damage ur tomatoes my grandpa taught me this 25 years ago and I have never had this problem since so just put a little stick against the stalk when u plant and problem solved 100 percent works
Thank you for that advice, we will try that if we notice any again. Always good to use old remedies
Yikes. You've got hornworms, because you've got a ridiculous number of unkempt tomato plants in one area. Keep your plants pruned, spread them out, and put in some companion plants, and hornworms won't be nearly as big an issue. On another note, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that plant! Why would you remove a perfectly healthy and resilient plant just because you found a couple hornworms on it? Especially when you can just prune the branches they gnawed off without hurting the rest of it.
I went thru this last month. T. Hornworms will devastate if you let them. I used BT, and they stopped.
Pests only attack plants they deem as edible, which are plants with lower Brix. Brix is the sugar content that plants make and the healthier the plant the more sugars are produced. Also silicate and chitosan will make plants a lot less desirable and harder to eat. Cleaning up the lower section of unhealthy leaves will also reduce the amount of pests that can populate.
Good day my brother. Nipples is only good for chicken if it's not in your coop. Also remember they will jump on the pipe. First time seeing your channel will check out your other videos.😊
Yes I’m waiting for them to roost on the pipe lol they haven’t gotten up there yet but it’s only a matter of time. Thanks 👍
These were some great ideas. Thanks . Wish you all the beast on your journey. We are doing the same thing but we bought a piece of property close to our house . We love the country living and out grow our property. We also started a CZcams channel about 6years ago . God bless you all and lots of new memories
Thank you, and good luck to you as well on your adventure. It’s never ending fun lol

Same thing happened for my dad, regular cukes and lemon cukes, the lemon grew into a massive bush jsyk. They were tasty
Wow!!! The farm is coming along!!!
Thank you!
He looks very happy
Yes he was lol
Bacon?
Yes indeed

Pigs are beautiful, intelligent animals ❤
Lettuce salad yumyuo
They don't seem to be interested in salad 😅
They actually love it.
Baby that is gonna be bitterrrrr! Those flowers mean it’s gone to seed. It’s good for nothing at this point but making seeds.
Yes we knew that, It doesnt bother me to eat it yet. they will all soon come out.
We need some bikini content. You channel would have 100k over night lol
Nice setup. Tempting but i think I gotta hold off another year or two on anything like that for myself. I probably give my neighbors something to watch out their windows when i water my garden after work anyway hahahah
lol , you can do a miniature version of this. Go on marketplace people are always giving away stuff.
Very nice and makes watering so much easier. Definitely going to look into this for my flowers 💐 as well!
Awesome

Keep going, friend! I quit my 8-5 office job last August to pursue my own things, and dig myself out of the bad mental state that job gave me. It's amazing I don't remember feeling that hopelessness and despair at all in the months I was unemployed but I felt it every single day while employed. I got my house organized more, started an amazing garden, really just enjoyed living. I wasn't able to get anything going this time around and ran out of savings so just started another 8-5 office job this week. I already know this is not the path for me. The motivation is strong to get my own stuff going again but I just keep getting stuck. I'm chasing the money and ideas that I think will be money instead of things that I naturally enjoy doing. So I'm trying to figure it out. Main thing is no one can do it but you. Put a little something towards your goal every day. Remind yourself what the goal is every morning. I'm also a firm believer that it shouldn't be so hard though. If you're on the right path you want to be doing the things you need to be doing.
thank yo buddy, I hope everything works out for you. just keep going at it don't quit and also try and figure out how you can help people in a way they didn't even think they would need help at. (if that makes any sense) also reading really helped me out.i am going to be listing some books on here soon that has been a huge help to me.
Awesome man living the dream
Omg it took 2 years for the lavendar to grow 🥺. I just planted lavendar this year from seeds
