How to replace Dyson battery with Milwaukee drill battery
This modification should work with any brand 18V to 20V power tool battery. Just make sure you get the correct housing attachment - or 3D print your own. If you don't get one with a switch mounted the vacuum will start running as soon as the battery is installed and will only stop if you remove the battery.
Note that the main trigger switch on the dyson is not an electronic switch so it cannot be used once you swap out the battery unless you do further modifications.

Home Made Electric Ride on Car with Remote Control

I made this car from a vintage style kids pedal car. The car can be driven by a child using the foot pedals or by a remote control. This turned out to be much more powerful than I had intended. Fortunately the controller I’m using allows me to map a throttle curve so that the car is controllable. There is also an adjustable current limiter which I usually turn down when kids are driving the car...
The 100 year clock

I modified a normal clock and added a few extra dials that turn very very slowing. The high reduction ratio means that the last gear only does 1 revolution every 100 years. The clock is for my son and its been counting the days, months, and years since he was born. I bought the clock body from a store at the Sunshine Coast. The movement is a quartex high torque with long shaft. www.ebay.com.au/...

The rig I made to raise and lower my Sony TV (X90C) from inside the ceiling. It's driven by a garage door motor, supported by steel cables, and directed by drawer slides (3 sets attached to eachother to get the extension). The counter weight balances the weight of the TV to reduce the load on the motor (it was struggling without it). Since uploading this I also added a flap (with foam for insul...

    Great video. Does the original battery current go through the OEM switch, or does the OEM switch control a relay to supply the full current? If the former, than why not run the Milwaukee output through the OEM trigger switch, so you have on/off fingertip control while vacuuming? Plus, alot of the battery holders I'm seeing on Ebay these days omit the switch, so it would be good to know if we can use the trigger switch already on the vacuum. Thanks again!

    • @bengineering
      @bengineering Před 2 lety

      The oem has the switch built into the battery. The trigger on the vacuum just mechanically triggers the switch in the battery.

    Wonder why there isn’t an adapter somebody has made yet. They can make a adapter from a dewalt to a Milwaukee or vise versus. I bet they would make a killing on those adapters.

    This doesn't work on boost. It lasts a couple seconds before the vacuum thinks the battery is drained because of the lower voltage. If you don't care about boost then its fine.

    Way too complicated. I have an idea of using a geared or bike chained center rod as a drive up n down, a garage opener sys w remote should work. On the other side I will build a wood frame covered with a canvas to protect the TV of heat dust n humidity. If you steal my idea you ll have to pay me royalties 😂😂

    Be interesting to try this with an actual 22v battery instead of an 18v. Something like the Hilti 22v batteries would be good to see if they fare better.

    Thanks, I always wondered if this was possible and would really like to use Makita batteries with my V6. I'm surprised that the switch is mechanical, I've never looked into it but quite a few brushed power tools use 20A rated switches so a swap could be possible. For example the cordless portaband I recently modified about has a 24V/20A Fujisoku SGE120C-3 switch.

    drive.google.com/file/d/1UHtuSlnYRzXBU0REe0PxgIaYW_SV2HSQ/view?usp=sharing This now works for me. Lasts longer, and I can have a battery in stand by. The trigger button works as before! I removed the original batteries and BMS, and in the empty space inside the base, I added a small 30A car relay, to control such high current with the low amperage switch. To make it leaner, I will try to fit the relay in the handle itself (while keeping the original trigger/switch mechanism) at like in th a later stage, that will make it 2cm thinner, like in the posted video.
